Reviews for Crown Towers Perth

Terrible Absolute Rip Off

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I booked two nights in mid-June 2025 expecting five-star luxury; I walked out feeling completely fleeced. Freezing “resort” pool: Not a single warm or heated option. In winter it’s an ice bath, so the headline amenity is unusable. Tech stuck in 2010: No streaming apps on the TVs; the only choice is $20 pay-per-view for a whopping ten movies. The remote only works if you’re practically touching the screen. Dirty rooms: Shower tiles were stained, carpets smelled like wet dog, and everything felt overdue for a deep clean. Broken “smart” controls: The in-room iPad crashes constantly; the electric blinds start and stop at random, usually at 3 a.m. Gouged at every turn: $39 for a club sandwich, $37 for a basic burger—and an extra $7 “delivery fee” just to bring it from the hotel kitchen to … the hotel room. That’s there room service. Crazy. You have to pay 55 dollars for breakfast each person and the breakfast is the most basic average crap you’ll eat. Overall value: $600-plus per night for a place that can’t manage basic cleanliness, working remotes, heated pool or decently priced room service or food. A 7 dollar delivery fee is laughable. There is literally nothing redeeming I can say. Crown Towers Perth trades on its brand while cutting every corner that matters. Spend your money elsewhere—you’ll thank yourself later.

A good choice if wanting to be close to Optus Stadium

Spent 3 nights. Excellent room with views of the Swan river and city. Plenty of restaurants in the wider complex but suggest booking well ahead (especially for Nobu). I would have given 5 stars except the bar closes at 10pm .. which is very poor for such a large hotel. Alternative is to head over to the zoo like atmosphere of the Casino .. but only McDonalds is open late.

High Lobby & Big Chandelier do not make Crown a grand luxe hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

I usually do not like to comment, easy going but not this hotel, I paid good money for two nights in a Premier Suite and to me room was not even ready when we step in, the shower gel, shampoo and conditioner could not be opened and be used, we informed Front Office who assured me they will get Housekeeping to change... guess...they failed to do...we ask for two extra pillows... guess.... failed to do so. 2nd day my wife informed Housekeeping staff on the corridorwhile we went down for breakfast, same issue..no one cared. The duty manager was involved and the service recovery was mediocre. The room carpet was fluffy and you can trip if not careful, windows are dirty, I read all the one, two, three star reviews and most of them are service and facilities not working. I winder if the general manager thinks he can charge a premium room rate because of high lobby and big chandeliers. He is wrong and off. Sadly Perth do not have very good outstanding hotels unlike the rest of Australia. They are lucky but time will catch up with Crown.

An Honest Review (of a few visits)

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

Unlike my usual reviews, this is for the accommodation (the others have been for the food). I stayed at Crown Towers several times in 2024, so this review will be an amalgam of those. I do love it, the opulence is welcoming and makes you feel special. Especially the drive to the door to have the uniformed staff welcome you, makes you feel very VIP indeed. I stayed in a mix of Deluxe King and Twin rooms and my favourite things about them is the view of the Swan River and City Skyline and the very comfortable beds and the bathroom with the deep relaxing soak, the tv on the facing wall and the rainforest shower. I have always found the staff to be very accommodating and pleasant. I do love the convenience of the restaurants and bars being available downstairs. I feel very lucky that we have such a lovely destination to stay whilst in Perth. Yes, the marketing is slick and it all looks fabulous, there are some things that you may not be aware of in the reality of the hospitality industry. From reading other reviews, I know that the money spent can be a lot and I myself was asked for more when I upgraded my room. I was not particularly happy but agreed. The view was worth my pleasure and lasted longer than the dismay I felt about the extra amount. I also have experienced as have other patrons, of longer waiting times than expected (or necessary) for checking in or out, or waiting for my car. I particularly don't like it when I have to pick up my car at the level below next to the escalator, it felt like the good will I had felt had dissapated upon my leaving. I wanted my car to be bought around upstairs and be attended to by the uniformed staff as on my arrival. But I consoled myself when I reminded myself that I was not the only person leaving, that the staff were trying their best in an extremely busy period and that they were apologetic but still professional. I knew that from talking to them at times, that a lot of them were hardworking, had the best intentions and usually had a long commute to and from home as well as very full workloads. I am the first to admit that sometimes things do go awry, and sometimes it does feel disappointing, (they did 'lose' my car for a good 30 plus minutes, but they admitted that while it was a staff error was one of the main reasons for the long wait). But sometimes to be more accepting that stuff happens can make it easier for everyone, including yourself. I always have a very long drive anytime I come to Perth, so I didn't think losing my cool would look good anyway. I have spent times at the Crystal Towers for Breakfast and have seen people attend wearing definitely not the usual standard expected, (unwashed hair, tattoos, ripped clothing, surly expressions) and I was upset at the way that I had gone to the trouble of dressing and presenting myself to the standard. And I will admit the money I spent on Crystal, did play a part in feeling dismayed. But I just made my feelings known (in a nice way) to the staff and asked that they would be passed on to the next senior level so it could be attended to appropriately. Sometimes you get to holiday at a place where the only other people are as well groomed, well moneyed or just as well as you would like to think that they should be. Sometimes you have to share the space with those who have different ideas of what that is. I like to think that any given feedback will be listened to and acted upon and that continuous improvement is a valued and consistent practice at Crown Towers. I like to think that CT is where everybody who comes to work or play can enjoy the space. From the luxury in the rooms, to the outdoor spaces, I think my very favourite is the ability of the staff who strive to do their best for all of their patrons, wherever in the towers they are.
