The Gleneagles Hotel

My wife and I visited Gleneagles on the 4th January for the first night of our honeymoon which I had arranged as a surprise. We loved it. We were welcomed warmly. It was particularly busy at check in as we arrived around noon but we were still attended to very quickly. Bags were taken off our hands. Really nice welcome at reception and congratulations on our wedding. We stayed in the standard room but it was excellent. Lovely surprise bottle of champagne and lovely card in our room. Really appreciated the gesture. We went to the American bar for a cocktail before dinner. Exceptional. Lovely service and again, a complimentary drinks for our celebration. Decor outstanding in there. Excellent atmosphere. Next the Birnam for dinner. Food fantastic and complimentary desert for our occasion. Breakfast outstanding. The best, and will be hard to beat. Every staff member very professional and so polite. It’s a trip we will definitely want to repeat!! So thank you for your first class hospitality.

I have spend many a Christmas at Gleneagles and return because the hotel is beautifully set in wonderful grounds and the atmosphere is wonderful because the staff and the service are so good. The food is excellent and plentiful. The rooms are lovely and beautifully cleaned every day. I have travelled the world and have never had a more welcoming and delightful experience than that of Gleneagles.

We came to Gleneagles just before Christmas with three generations — teenagers, parents, and all — and left completely smitten. This place delivers dopamine in the most elegant way possible. Grand but never stuffy. Festive, stylish, delicious. From the moment you arrive, everything feels considered and generous. We threw ourselves into the experiences — distillery visit, archery, gun dogs — and every single one was exceptional. The animals, the countryside, the calm confidence of the team: pure joy. You carry that feeling long after you leave. It was my father’s big birthday, and the hotel quietly upgraded his room and sent Champagne. No fuss, just class. He says it’s his best memory of Scotland — and he’s not wrong. Breakfast is dangerous (you won’t want to leave), the American Bar is outstanding, and yes — they know exactly how dirty a Martini should be. Dogs are welcome, service is impeccable, and we’re already counting the days until we return.

We try to go to gleneagles every year and absolutely love it. We go between Christmas and new year as it is all done up for Christmas. It is beautiful, from the staff, the facilities and the food. It is expensive, but it’s so worth it and we always feel very relaxed when we leave. The children love it and always ask to come back, this year in particular they all loved the padel and the mini golf course.
