Smelly room

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Been a Dusit Gold member and specifically at this hotel since I was a child (for around 15 years already), but the stay this time is completely diabolical and unacceptable. We booked the usual family club connecting room. Upon entering the room, one of the rooms smelled too strongly of perfume (not the usual smell), so I asked the staff and they said it was the typical smell, so I didn’t think much of it and asked for an air purifier (it didn’t even come until the last night when I had to call them in the middle of the night). In the middle of the last night to early morning, the most stenching smell of pipe (like in the toilet) hit the room, and it was completely unbearable and suffocating. And having been here countless times, I can tell you that this is not the usual smell of the rooms. For the remainder of the night, I opened the door to try to sleep. Extremely disappointed to experience such a horrendous experience in what is usually a good hotel. I will not return to this hotel again.

Looking Forward to Returning again

A huge thank you to Khun Paeng (Supatcharee and N'Peanut) and Khun Noi (Duangjai) for the warm welcome. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I was coming home to my family. Your kindness and hospitality made all the difference. I also want to give a special shoutout to Khun Paeng for the beautiful surprise birthday setup for my girlfriend in our room. The surprise birthday cake from Khun May, Nomada, after dinner was the perfect touch. Thank you for making her birthday so memorable. And to Khun Noi, thank you for always ensuring our comfort throughout the entire stay. Your attentiveness and care made our retreat truly relaxing. This trip felt less like a vacation and more like a homecoming. Thank you for creating such an unforgettable experience. I'm already looking forward to returning to my home away from home again soon.

Varieties of meals all day long with good quality and tasty. Very big area for your morning walk/run and also private beach . Recommended.

Mixed Experience – Beautiful Grounds but Serious Room Issues

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I would like to start by highlighting the positive aspects: the hotel has beautifully maintained grounds, lush greenery, a stunning pool, relaxing spa services, and genuinely kind and welcoming staff. Breakfast was excellent, with a great selection and live music creating a lovely atmosphere. Overall, the surroundings were very pleasant and initially made a great impression. However, I must point out a few serious issues that significantly impacted our stay: 1. Room Condition and Air Conditioning (Major Concern) The most alarming issue was with the air conditioning in our room. Upon entering, we were hit by a strong, musty, moldy smell – clearly coming from the old A/C unit. The odor was unbearable and made it difficult to breathe or sleep. This is a serious health hazard. We reported it the next morning and were moved to new connecting rooms. While one of them was fine, the other still had a strong moldy smell. We avoided using the A/C and kept the connecting door open instead – but this is unacceptable, especially at this price point. No guest should have to compromise their health. 2. Poor Communication About Hotel Credit We had 1,000 THB in hotel credit to use during our stay. However, no one informed us about it at check-in. We only found out at check-out and had to quickly use it at a nearby pastry shop, which was underwhelming. We felt misled and disappointed that this benefit was poorly communicated. 3. Disappointing Experience at San Marino Restaurant The on-site San Marino restaurant was a huge letdown. The food was very basic – I ordered a pasta that was just plain noodles with tomatoes. The service was indifferent, and the server appeared upset when we didn’t tip extra (despite service charge already being included). Cocktails tasted like they were made with low-quality alcohol. We spent nearly $90 and left feeling like it was money wasted. I strongly advise guests to avoid this restaurant. 4. Overpriced Shuttle Service The hotel is far from central Hua Hin. While they offer a shuttle service, it costs 100 THB per person one-way. For our family of four, this totaled 400 THB, even though a regular ride-hailing app could take all of us for about 120 THB. This felt unnecessarily expensive and left a bitter impression. Final Thoughts While the hotel has many beautiful elements, the serious issues with the room’s air quality, poor internal communication, overpriced services, and low restaurant standards unfortunately outweighed the positives for us. If management addresses the maintenance and service gaps, this could be a truly outstanding place. Until then, I cannot fully recommend it.

This was a very nice hotel and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Can especially recommend the Club Lounge and the Thai restaurant.
