Dusit Thani Hua Hin

Provided a birthday cake which I did not ask for. Really impressive. Swimming pool is very good. Nice beach, very good breakfast. A pleasant stay. Good value .

While people nowadays tends to choose boutique resorts or pool villas for their seaside holiday, Dusit still stand tall for being the old style luxury resort that used to be popular in 20th Century. Being an old fashion is not necessary a bad thing. In fact, it makes this property very unique and with beautiful setting and scenery the hotel is the real gem in this old Seaside resort town. We haven't visit Dusit Thani Hua Hin for a very long time since the Covid 19 emerges. In fact, we tends to follow the modern trends to choose smaller and boutique resort since the Covid. This time, we decided to revisit this nostalgic resort that used to be the icon and set standard for Luxury hotels in 20 Century. The most unique thing for this old property is their exceptional landscape garden and beautiful interior within the main building. In this aspect, Dusit Thani gave exceptional experience. The hotel has beautiful decoration within the main building. Large and beautiful lobby and lounge. Beautiful decorated restaurants. Exceptional facility. Beautiful lake and fountain. Large and full facilities swimming pools. There are main swimming pool and garden swimming pool. Beautiful over the water pavilion in Thai style with nice Thai restaurant. The hotel has 4 restaurants and a cafe. Nomada Steak House by the beach. San Marco by the main building. The restaurant for Breakfast under the Lobby. Thai Restaurant by the lake, and also a Cafe by the reception. The walkway around the hotel and garden is approximately 1 kilometer, which is very large and beautiful (please see attached photo). The hotel has a direct access to the beach. The beach adjunct to the hotel is one of the cleanest in Hua Hin. No hawkers and no outsiders. Their carpark is large and also having EV charging station. However, I found that the EV Charging station at Dusit Thani Hua Hin having relatively higher cost of charging per unit than other hotels (I believe, it is around 10% more). Upon checking in at the hotel, We got a welcome drink from the hotel staff. The staff is lovely and polite. The staff dress in Thai cloth making this hotel unique comparing to other international hotel. We've got THB500 voucher which can be use at any restaurants and cafe. We decided to use them at the Cafe for coffees and bakery. The room cost around USD100 (THB3,500) and also coming with breakfast. I found Dusit Thani offered one of the most competitive price for 5 stars hotel in Hua Hin. Their breakfast has one of the best variety in Hua Hin area as well. Now moving to the room at this hotel. I have to admit that the room at Dusit Thani has one of the smallest Deluxe Room among the Five Stars hotel in Hua Hin. I belive the hotel has around 36 sq.m. But back in 1990, when this hotel has been constructed. The standard of the Luxury 5 Stars hotel must have the room 32 sq.m. or above. The 36 sq.m. is clearly ahead of her time. The room has been well appointed. It must have been renovate recently as the toilet has been fitting with more modern setting. The bedroom, while having wooden interior. It has modern facility setting. Comparing to the modern 5 stars hotel in Hua Hin, the room may be smaller but the facilities are equal. The roof is a bit lower than other modern hotel as well. But having said that, I still felt comfortable for staying at this hotel (I am 5'10 height). So, generally speaking, this is a nice hotel with all modern facilities. Our room located on the main building overlook the swimming pool and ocean. The room has a nice balcony, so we can sit and relax. The best part of this hotel is the trees around this compound. As this is a 35 years old hotel, the trees around the hotel are large and giving clean and nice environment. The hotel also having one of the best swimming pool among luxury hotel. There are also seating in middle of the pool area for relaxation as well. Generally, this is a nice luxury hotel with a very affordable price. Their services are excellent. The hotel is clean and green. This is one of the best value for money stay in Hua Hin.

I haven’t stayed at this hotel for several years, but the service remains just as excellent as I remember. The staff are attentive and genuinely care about their guests — they always greet you warmly whenever you walk by. The in-room amenities are sufficient and well-prepared, with no need to make additional requests. One thing that truly impressed me and exceeded my expectations was when I asked if they had a shower chair available, as we were traveling with an elderly family member. To my surprise, the hotel provided a proper shower chair designed for seniors right in the bathroom. This small detail reflects the hotel’s thoughtful consideration for guests' needs. Other small touches also stood out, such as complimentary drinking water placed by the pool, and towels available at multiple corners around the pool — always ready and well-stocked. Overall, the service truly lives up to the hotel’s long-standing reputation and its five-star status.

Been a Dusit Gold member and specifically at this hotel since I was a child (for around 15 years already), but the stay this time is completely diabolical and unacceptable. We booked the usual family club connecting room. Upon entering the room, one of the rooms smelled too strongly of perfume (not the usual smell), so I asked the staff and they said it was the typical smell, so I didn’t think much of it and asked for an air purifier (it didn’t even come until the last night when I had to call them in the middle of the night). In the middle of the last night to early morning, the most stenching smell of pipe (like in the toilet) hit the room, and it was completely unbearable and suffocating. And having been here countless times, I can tell you that this is not the usual smell of the rooms. For the remainder of the night, I opened the door to try to sleep. Extremely disappointed to experience such a horrendous experience in what is usually a good hotel. I will not return to this hotel again.
