Reviews for Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “It’s a Dog’s Life” at Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “It’s a Dog’s Life” at Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia! From the moment we checked in, it was clear that this hotel truly rolls out the red carpet for both humans and their furry companions. It’s safe to say… this stay was absolutely paw-fect 🐾 One of the biggest highlights? Pet-friendly perks at no extra charge—and they accept any number of pets with no size or weight restrictions. That alone is a huge tail-wag! We already can’t wait to come back and bring our cat Marty along for our next stay. After checking in, we were welcomed with a cozy pet bed and food/water bowls already set up in our room—talk about VIP (Very Important Pup) treatment! Since we mentioned bringing our cat too, the amazing staff even had a litter box ready for Marty. That level of thoughtfulness deserves a round of a-paws. The hotel offers a truly “wagnificent” Bark Package, which made our stay even more special. It includes: A $25 donation to the National Trust for Historic Preservation A self-guided tour of Old City Doggie bags An exclusive dog bandana A pet care kit Location-wise, you couldn’t ask for better. The hotel sits right in the heart of Old City—just steps from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. Bentley and I even had a front-row view from our window watching visitors line up for Independence Hall! There are also plenty of pet-friendly green spaces right across the street, making potty breaks super easy and convenient. Back inside, the hotel hosts a nightly happy hour (or should I say “yappy hour”) in the lobby—such a fun and social touch for both guests and their four-legged friends. In the mornings, complimentary coffee and tea are available, which was the perfect way to start the day. We also loved dining at Red Owl Tavern, located right off the lobby. It’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, offers outdoor seating, and is incredibly welcoming to pups—another big win for pet parents! Overall, if you’re looking for a stay where both you and your pets are treated like royalty, this is the place. At Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia, it truly is “a dog’s life”—and we can’t wait to come back for another paws-itively amazing visit 🐶🐾

Another memorable experience!

My husband and I have traveled quite extensively over the years and we can earnestly say that there is no better customer experience than we recently enjoyed at the Monaco Philadelphia! We have stayed at the hotel on several prior occasions and the staff always has always got above and beyond to accommodate us .Each time, they have far exceeded our expectations! A special shout out to the incredible concierge, Rashid, who couldn't have been kinder, considerate or more attentive! We arrived to a room filled with a personal hand-written note, a beautiful fruit and cheese platter and assorted gifts arranged in a basket with a monogramed Kimpton fan! Incredibly, Rashid remembered our meeting 9 years ago and made sure that we would stay in the same room that we loved during that visit! We felt very welcomed and pampered! Rashid also willingly helped us with some logistical issues we had in planning a small birthday party at the hotel. Our evening began on the Hotel rooftop at the Stratus Lounge where our daughter and son-in-law first met and a year later (to the day) became engaged! With Diandra's help, we had a fabulous cocktail hour! Diandra is so energetic and fun- loving that it was a joy to work with her. With Breanna's help, we planned our party at the Monaco's Red Owl Restaurant. The manager Adam, with his capable assistant Missy, were both most accommodating and catered to our every need with the set-up and flawless service. We are grateful for the friendships we forged and look forward to returning to this first class hotel that boasts the most caring and welcoming staff! Kudos to the Monaco's General Manager, James Adamson. He has obviously put together a first class and remarkable team which ensures that guests always feel welcomed and valued while receiving amazing and impeccable service!

Okay but needs improvement

Overall our visit here was okay. The hotel itself has a lot of character, 5 Stars for the bellhop! Didn't catch his name, but he was quick to greet us, grab our bags, and give our children an awesome welcome gift. Check in was okay however it felt a little cold and not overly welcome. Didn't ask what our plans were or if we needed any suggestions. Also, didn't mention any of the amenities of the hotel. The room itself was decorated beautifully, however there were obvious streaks on our mirror, the bath faucet leaked and the water temperature was all over the place. Also, drawers were obviously not checked by housekeeping because there were items from previous guests left behind. Valet service was quick although cold and unfriendly.

Our stay at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia was nothing short of exceptional. The hotel itself is incredibly elegant, set within a majestic historic building that truly stands out. Every detail in the rooms is carefully curated, offering both comfort and style at the highest level. Its central location makes it the perfect base to explore the city, with everything just steps away. Dining at Red Owl Tavern was a highlight—absolutely exquisite food that exceeded expectations. What truly made the experience unforgettable was the impeccable service. The hotel staff delivered outstanding hospitality, making us feel welcomed and cared for throughout our entire stay.

The staff is amazing. From check in to house keeping to check out. The Red Owl Tavern is a hidden gem. Locally sourced, farm to table, local craft beer, and great bar tenders.

We didn't like this hotel as much as the Sofitel, which was full. We probably wouldn't stay at Hotel Monaco again. Decoration was weird; no hangers in the room; housekeeping knocked and opened our door despite the occupied signed on the door.
