Ideal combination of situation and hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

The hotel Kimpton Monaco is really perfect. Nice situation and pleasant and comfortable hotel. The whole staff is very nice and helpful and the room was very good. It was big and well isolated. The climatization worked perfectly. The area is ideal as it is in old city very close to the Independance Hall. It’s a very safe area. You can visit independance hall and Liberty Bell in the neighborhood. You can also take the bus Hop-On Hop-off close to the hotel and do a complete tour to see the different places to visit and then you can go to most of them on foot. Not very far from the hotel, you have the Spuce Street Harbor Park along the river Delaware where you can rest and have a drink. Near the hotel, you have also quite a choice of restaurants if you are tired in the evening and do not want to eat far from the hotel. You can have breakfast which is not always possible in the USA. Just for the nostalgic people, we can see building of the hotel formerly Lafayette Building in the movie Trading places with Eddie Murphy and Dan Ackroyd. We had a lot of pleasure in Philadelphia and in Kimpton Hotel Monaco. If we come back to Philadelphia, we will return to this hotel.

The Very Definition of Hospitality

True hospitality by the staff at every turn. Room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The wine hour provided a nice opportunity to socialize in the very inviting reception area. I will be back!

We didn't like this hotel as much as the Sofitel, which was full. We probably wouldn't stay at Hotel Monaco again. Decoration was weird; no hangers in the room; housekeeping knocked and opened our door despite the occupied signed on the door.
