Philadelphia has an old-world charm, yet there’s nothing old-fashioned about our hotel’s stunning guestrooms. That’s because they’re sleek and modern without ever feeling cold.

I stayed here for business in April 2026. Overall, the service, food, and hotel grounds were good for an older four-star hotel, but the room had some major issues that affected my stay. First, the room stayed far too warm. Even with the thermostat set lower and in VIP mode, the AC did not cool the room because the cooling towers were apparently not running at night and were often off during the day as well. The room remained around 73°F, and combined with the heavy bedding, I woke up sweating multiple nights. Guests should be able to set their room to a comfortable temperature and not be limited by poor system design. Second, the blackout drapes need serious attention. Even when fully closed—and after trying to reposition them with furniture—direct sunlight still came through a gap in the upper corner every morning, shining directly into my eyes. The only way to fully block it would have been to tape a towel to the wall, which is obviously unreasonable. If the hotel fixes these room issues, I would consider staying again. Until then, I would pass.

The room had problems. The closet door only slid opened about 12 inches on either side making it barely usable, really frustrating when you have a Gown, Tux and other items to hang and be able to get to them. Also only half of the electrical outlet next to the bed was working and had what looked to be a grounding wire screwed to it that was just cut off and sitting there. I requested in advance during the reservation process that the room be de-feathered due to allergies. When I arrived, the pillows were feather, so I called the front desk and reminded them, the staff member was very nice and apologetic and said someone would be there in about 15 minutes. I waited quite a bit longer than that, but we had to leave for an event before anything was resolved. I just figured it would get resolved while I was gone. When we returned around 10:30PM ish, exhausted and ready for bed, the feather pillows were still there. I called again, and about 30 minutes later housekeeping showed up but without replacement pillows. The staff member checked, confirmed that 3 of the 4 pillows were feather and left to "try to find some foam pillows". The issue wasn’t fully resolved until close to midnight, which was frustrating after a long day. That said, I do want to point out that every staff member I interacted with was polite, professional, and understanding. Overall, the service attitude was great, but the execution and room condition need serious improvements.

Nice hotel. Convenient locations. Reasonable hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff helpful. No pool.

Booked a double queen room since family staying. They ran out of rooms and gave us a room with one bed. No apologies. Rude staff at front desk. WiFi difficult to connect and slow once you finally get on.

My wife and I chose Loews Philadelphia for a three day Valentine’s weekend because the hotel holds personal significance for us and is marketed as a luxury property suitable for a special occasion. Unfortunately, our experience was very different from what we expected. We were not informed until after check-in that the hotel was hosting a large youth dance competition. Throughout much of our stay, the atmosphere reflected that event. The lobby and public areas were crowded with participants and families, and there were pizza boxes, delivery bags, and trash visible in hallways and elevator areas on our floor. The noise and congestion made it difficult to enjoy the common spaces. One of the reasons we chose the hotel was to spend time in the restaurant and bourbon bar, but on Valentine’s evening those areas were heavily impacted by the event and did not feel like the quiet, adult environment we had anticipated. At one point we left the hotel for much of the day simply to find somewhere quieter to spend time together. The hotel manager did remove one night from our bill as a goodwill adjustment, which we appreciated. However, after multiple follow-ups with Guest Relations, we were ultimately told that this represented the full resolution. Unfortunately, the experience has tarnished what were once very positive memories of staying at Loews, and as a result we will not be returning. I share this so that other couples considering Loews Philadelphia for a romantic or special occasion understand how both the environment during our stay and the handling of our concerns ultimately unfolded.
