NO HOT WATER

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Beautiful room and hotel location was perfect for a night to hang out. Prior to going out went to wash my hands and was surprised that the water was not warming. To my surprise the next morning unable to shower due to no hot water. Call to the operator who says it is a city issue however my man works right next door and ironically they have hot water. Even my mom who lives in the city also has hot water. Not happy at all.

Unacceptable Aggression from Staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We had a pleasant stay until checkout, when everything changed through no action of our own. Guest services loaded our luggage onto a dolly and instructed my wife and children to wait in the loading area—the hotel’s designated pickup zone. When I drove around to collect my family, a valet pointed me toward where I should load our car. What happened next was shocking. Another valet, a large man, approached my car and began aggressively questioning why I was there. I politely explained that hotel staff had directed us to this exact location. Instead of acknowledging this or helping us, he became increasingly confrontational and hostile. He screamed profanities at me repeatedly, all while my wife and small children watched, along with dozens of other guests in the area. His aggression culminated in a direct physical threat: “I will f*** you up if you ever return again.” What’s worse than the incident itself is management’s complete indifference. We have received no apology, no acknowledgment, and no attempt to address what happened. This lack of accountability is deeply concerning. To prove our account, we invite the hotel to release security footage from the loading area on November 20, 2025, between 10:30 AM and 10:40 AM. It will clearly show that we remained composed and did nothing to provoke this behavior. The valet’s rage was entirely unprovoked and completely unacceptable.

Great Anniversary Trip!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

We had a great overnight stay at Loews Philadelphia to celebrate our anniversary. Simone at the registration desk asked why we were visiting and accommodated us for an early check in. Later that day we received a surprise of chocolate covered strawberries with an anniversary card! The hotel was clean, comfortable, quiet and conveniently located with a nice bar. If you visit, ask for Simone. Her service went above and beyond!

Elevators are a nightmare, security issues

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

First off, THE ELEVATORS ARE A NIGHTMARE. Backstory... My daughter got married Labor Day Weekend. The majority of my daughter's wedding party stayed at the Loew's due to its proximity to the wedding venue. We were not told that there was going to be 15 wedding parties staying at the hotel that weekend which I know is none of our business, but we were also not told that one elevator bank would only have 2 working elevators (1 working elevator on Sunday) for a 33 story fully occupied hotel. My daughter was getting married on Sunday and she rented the bridal suite (not inexpensive) to get ready in. As suspected, the vendors and the bridesmaids all arrived late and to add insult to injury due to the elevator fiasco, after a 25-minute wait, my 91 year old mother and I had to walk 6 flights of stairs to get to my daughter's bridal suite or we would never get there. Meanwhile, as we were walking up the stairwell, I was holding my daughter's 30-pound wedding gown and my own dress and trying to make sure that neither of us stepped on the gowns or slipped in the process. Suffice it to say, it did not get better the next day when we had to wait for the elevator (1 was working) to get to the brunch on the 33rd floor that we were hosting. Everyone arrived late. To say the elevators are a nightmare is an understatement. ALSO LOCK UP ALL VALUABLES. Because the safe in the guest room is awkward (on its side vs. flat so you have to pile things up on a 3 inch base which if you do not shut fast will cause all the items to fall out), I did not put in my new pair of sunglasses. I stuck them in a suitcase which was not locked (my bad). Lo and behold, the sunglasses were nowhere to be found when I unpacked my suitcase. They mysteriously disappeared. I alerted housekeeping but they indicated that no one saw them. In addition, not as meaningful as the top 2 issues, when we took our first shower in our guest room, there was no body wash or shampoo in the shower stall containers. Isn't this on the housekeeper's daily checklist? When I left the room, I asked one of the housekeepers still working on the floor if she could replenish the body wash and shampoo containers in the shower as they were empty. When I returned to the room later that day, I discovered it was not done, and I had to call down to housekeeping the following day to get it taken care of, which it finally was. And finally, I realize this hotel is in a major city, but Loew's should provide better security and oversight at the entrance to the hotel. It is extremely uncomfortable entering the hotel (even during the day but especially at night when the overall population in the street is diminished) as there are unwell people living and screaming (at us) right by the entrance to the hotel. The room was clean but unfortunately i can not recommend a stay here.

Chronic elevator issues in a big hotel: simply unacceptable.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

Location is very good. Rooms are great. However, the building is having chronic elevator problems which means going up and down sometimes takes up to 45 minutes. The hotel staff is well aware of the issue but do not make any effort to improve it. Unacceptable in such a large and heavily visited hotel.
