Very pleasant hotel, they took care of every detail of what I requested for my marriage proposal! They were very attentive and impeccable. I highly recommend the intimate dinner experience with your feet in the sand.

Prior to us deciding if we want to book there we went to visit the resort and decided to have lunch in The Edge Restaurant overlooking the beach. Our so called lunch was so off putting that we wrote a separate review and on the basis of such poor experience certainly would not waste time and money to get further upset. Good luck in getting your act together

Beautiful & immaculately maintained resort that enhances stillness & privacy. Staff cannot do enough for their guests. The beach is sensational with snacks & drinks regularly provided. Anna provided an outstanding service & maintained a brisk response when contacted. The bed is super comfortable and the villa pool area is lovely with a great day bed. Nothing to do but relax. Housekeeping staff efficient & thorough. Daily minibar wellness snacks absolutely delicious. The walled garden in our private pool villa was lush although a haven for mosquitos. Goy’s massage in Ayurah Spa was amazing. Food good BUT breakfast selection underwhelming. Wine selection could possibly be improved. My only suggestion would be to make the whole eating area smoke free. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Aleenta used to be a cool, small boutique hotel with great service and good food . Rooms were modern and well equipped, with thoughtful decoration and little touches that added to a luxury experience. They have clearly had a change of direction as this seems like a hotel that has lost its way, catering for a more mass market crowd and it shows in all details, except the cost which is no longer value in my opinion. The service is poor, the food is mediocre and the attention to detail is sadly lacking. Our room was spacious, however run down. There was a horrible smell in the bathroom, which had no towels in it when we arrived . The lift to our apartment was not working and there was no hot water in the shower. Service at the restaurant for breakfast was slow and confused. Despite many complaints on the small details that make a luxury experience, all we received was a smile and “sorry”. Sadly at this price sorry and a smile does not cut it …. I would hesitate to recommend this place to any discerning traveller . It’s lost its magic .

Our room was fantastic. Number 104 which is a beachfront large spacious room and bathroom with private pool. It was amazing to sit on the deck watching the sun go down and hearing the waves. Everything was new looking and kept beautifully by our loveable housekeeper Eye. Very comfortable bed and lovely linens . Pyjamas, robes and slippers provided, along with flip flops and a beach bag. Also a coffee machine, bottled water, kettle and refilled fruit bowl. The hotel is built on many levels with wonderful water gardens full of water lilies along the paths tended by a lovely gardener, I don't know his name but I enjoyed our interactions. Disabled access is available but I wouldn't say it is an ideal place if you can't deal with steps. The wc's are up steps and a long way back from the beach and main restaurant. Apart from the stunning location on an unspoilt quiet beach , the main thing that makes this place great is the friendliness and dedication of the staff in all areas. Too many to mention all of them but Lita in reception who welcomed us , the lovely breakfast ladies in the Edge, waiters Khun, Best and Yacht and beach guys Pla, Book and Grappa all really added to our stay. Food was generally good with a mix of Thai and western dishes but the breakfast buffet is the same every day, so on a 2 week break it became a bit boring. Things we didn't like were the price of wine which we thought was ridiculous compared to local prices and the lack of a bar to meet and chat to people. Although the ethos is very much about couples having privacy , it's still nice to have somewhere you can get to know other guests or visit for a drink before dinner. The lack of any sign of a manager in the dining room was at times a big problem in the evenings. On busy nights the staff, although trying their very best, were run off their feet and the senior waiter was serving full time. This meant there was nobody to oversee what was happening and we had long waits for food. This is not a complaint about the staff who were amazing but in a hotel of this rating one would expect an F and B manager to be on duty overseeing the smooth running. Its certainly what we have experienced at other similar standard hotels. In fact, there was no sign of any Management staff in the hotel for the 2 weeks we stayed there. The best hotels we have stayed in always have prominent hotel managers who interact with guests and are around to see what's happening. It was also very disappointing for a wellness brand that there was only one complimentary exercise class per person per stay. The impression on the web was that the first class of each day was complimentary but this was not the case. The cost of classes was about double what I pay in the UK, which when one is paying so much for the accomodation was very disappointing. I had stayed at Aleetna Pranburi many years ago and really enjoyed the complimentary daily yoga, meditation etc. The class I did attended had 3 of us. Not surprising! A free daily class would make a great deal of difference particularly as there is not really anywhere much of intetest to go outside the hotel. There is also no service to exchange money so get cash at the airport for tips and taxis etc.
