A destination of casual elegance, the Thai island of Phuket has long been a playground for lovers of sun, sand and surf. It's also home to Amanpuri, the flagship property of Aman Resorts' collection. Tucked into a lush estate on the island's west coast, the resort features pavilion accommodations and villa homes that reflect this Thai island's style. Private outdoor terraces and pools are complemented by dramatic views of the Andaman Sea from this secluded headland location.

Okay. I know most people would ponder whether the high price is worth it, and let me assure you, as a first time Aman guest who had spent many hours researching reviews on this resort, this resort definitely lived up to my expectations. This is coming from someone who is very picky on hotels and resorts because I rarely have time to go travelling. When I go travelling, I would like to make sure everything in the place I stay is at least close to perfection so that it won’t ruin my precious holiday time. Everything must be done right! After all, holidays are meant to be totally stress free, right? If you’re looking for the finest in Phuket, this has to be it. We stayed there for 3 days and 2 nights and we were served mainly by Fern - Intern; Room Manager; Khun Nun - Room Division Manager; Giulia - Guest Relation Manager, and Puy-noon - Guest Service Assistance. They were all very friendly and nice, and we felt so cared for. They offered constant help and took care of everything! Their Whatsapp guest service’s prompt responses within a minute or two 24/7 was an icing on the cake. Except the friendly attitude from the staff, other highlights include the complimentary Thai style afternoon teatime and the most advanced gym with countless updated equipment. Everything just made you feel like you’re being served right. And the best part? The immaculate beach they share with just another hotel, making it so much less crowded than other beaches and way more relaxing. Their house cleaning team also put in a lot of effort. They always make sure to make the room dustless and neat whenever you’re out. I was so surprised (and partially guilty) they had at least cleaned 3-4 times a day for us. As some other reviews have mentioned, no brain cells are wasted here. No rush, no noise, only now. This is the art of slowing down in Amanpuri. This is definitely one of the very few 5 stars hotels I wouldn’t mind going back again for more!

Amanpuri offers a peaceful and refined escape in Phuket.. The beach is beautiful and well organized, and the spa provides a relaxing experience with quality treatments in a serene environment. Dining options are good, the service is very polite and helpful when needed. Thank you guys for making my trip to Thailand unforgettable! See you again soon!

Amanpuri remains among the very few Amans in the world that still deliver the true, unfiltered Aman experience, the Aman we remember from the glorious Zecha days. I won’t dwell on service; countless reviews have already done so, and we wholeheartedly agree. At Puri, service is not a performance—it is a genuine, meaningful human connection. That is the highest compliment we can offer. Nor will I elaborate on the architecture or its spectacular setting. Staying at Amanpuri feels like inhabiting the cover of a popular Thai travel magazine—timeless, cinematic, and effortlessly beautiful. Instead, I’d like to share our experience visiting Amanpuri during its lowest season: the monsoon. Like many, we approached this with hesitation. After all, Amanpuri is a beach destination, and during this time of year rain is not a question of if. We chose to stay in September primarily to avoid the crowds—and ended up loving every moment of it. The resort was wonderfully quiet, which only amplified its sense of place. With fewer guests, attentiveness deepened, interactions felt even more personal, and the value proposition became extraordinary. Rates during this period were remarkably reasonable, making the experience feel almost indulgent in its generosity. There are, of course, trade-offs. Certain facilities—such as the beach restaurant and the iconic floating platform—were closed. We did encounter occasional rain, but in our case it was limited to one or two hours a day, often followed by generous stretches of sunshine that restored the day beautifully. Phuket is undeniably a seasonal destination. But we are truly glad we took the risk. What we gained was not a compromised stay, but a quieter, more intimate, and arguably even better Amanpuri experience. Sometimes, the most rewarding Aman moments come when you go against convention—and trust the spirit of the place.

Amanpuri’s so-called “best villa” is a disaster. Villa 18/19 has a terrible layout—endless stairs, rooms scattered across hills, completely impractical and exhausting. Not suitable for families or parents at all. Shockingly bad design for a property that claims to be Aman’s finest. Extremely disappointed.
