Amora Beach Resort

Unfortunately, our stay at Amora was completely overshadowed by the fact that we — along with several other guests we spoke to — became very sick. Our package included drinks, but after just one drink on the first night we fell extremely ill. We had severe headaches, stomach cramps, and I ended up sleeping for 36 hours. We informed the hotel at the time that we were sick, but when we mentioned that other guests had experienced the same symptoms, we were told that because their doctor hadn’t examined us, there was “no proof” it was caused by the hotel. The illness itself was bad enough, but the hotel’s response made the situation even more disappointing. The combination of the poisoning and the lack of accountability from Amora completely ruined our stay. I would strongly recommend choosing alternative accommodation.

The Vibe: Modern, breezy, and relaxed. It has an open, unfussy layout that feels incredibly welcoming rather than overcrowded. Key Highlights: Direct Beach Access: You step right out onto the soft sands of Bang Tao Beach—no need to cross busy roads. Fantastic Pools: Multiple expansive, sparkling swimming pools wind through beautifully landscaped grounds. Dining Highlights: Features excellent on-site dining, including Isla (all-day beachfront dining) and the vibrant Nora Beach Club for Mediterranean-inspired food and sunset drinks.

Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this hotel, even though the staff overall was very friendly. The room has definitely seen better days; the flooring was peeling off in many places, and the cleanliness was not up to standard. As for the breakfast buffet, it was mediocre at best. The only highlight was the freshly prepared omelet, but the overall selection was very limited. What bothered me the most was the housekeeping schedule, which apparently only takes place between 3 PM and 6 PM. Since it was the rainy season and the weather wasn't great outside, I wanted to head back to my room. Because the cleaning staff was already working on my floor, I decided to wait in the restaurant, but I was told I had to purchase something to sit there. Consequently, I sat in the lobby to get some work done. An hour and a half later, my room was still not cleaned. When I inquired at 4 PM, they apologized for the inconvenience and promised it would be done soon. When someone finally showed up at 5 PM, I had to wait in the lobby yet again. This might sound petty, but I don't feel like I should have to stress about room cleaning while on vacation. To make matters worse, I was later blamed for not explicitly requesting an earlier cleaning slot. Additionally, the gym has a lot of room for improvement. It only features a few cardio machines, free weights up to 25 kg, and a single back-training machine.

We recently organized a company’s annual corporate offsite from Bangalore to Phuket for a company for 75 guests, hosting a large group of our employees and their families at the Amora Beach Resort. Planning an international trip for a large group is no small feat, but the experience was absolutely incredible. This resort is a great value. You get all the things you would want in a stay at the beach at a reasonable price. The location is ideal. It’s located on Bang Tao beach which is known as a more family friendly beach in Phuket. It feels quiet and peaceful, but also is close to many restaurants and has Tops right across the street. Anywhere you might want to go is within walking distance. A huge grounds with every amenity you could want. It also has very nice conference rooms and ballroom for all your events. The staff was so helpful and accommodating for all of our needs. Ms. Donlapa was easy to work and very organized in arranging everything for our event. Also, the breakfast is exceptional. Such a wide variety of options. They thought of everything!!!
