Exceptional in Every Way – A Truly Memorable Stay From the very first touchpoint, Anantara Layan exceeded expectations. The airport greeting and limousine transfer were seamless, followed by a smooth and professional arrival with check-in handled privately in our villa. But what impressed me most throughout the stay was the genuine warmth and attentiveness of every member of the team. We stayed in a beautifully appointed, freshly renovated pool villa, conveniently located close to the beach and all the main amenities. Everything was extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean and thoughtfully considered. The welcome amenities were also beyond impressive and immediately set the tone for the stay. The F&B experience deserves special mention. Breakfast, lunch and dinner consistently exceeded expectations — excellent quality, variety and service throughout. There really is very little reason to leave the resort when the food and beverage offering is this good. For anyone interested in wellness, Layan Life by Anantara is simply amazing. The gym has state-of-the-art Technogym equipment, complemented by wonderful onsen and hydrotherapy facilities, an extensive range of treatments and wellness programmes, and numerous classes covering everything from active fitness to mindfulness and relaxation. Above all, what makes Anantara Layan truly special is its people. The service is polished and professional, but at the same time incredibly warm and genuine. Staff anticipate what you need without being intrusive, and there is a real sense of generosity and pride in the hospitality. A very special congratulations and heartfelt thank you to Khun Fred, Tomo San and the entire Anantara Layan team for making our stay so relaxing and memorable. Beautiful surroundings, exceptional facilities, excellent dining and, most importantly, genuinely wonderful people. A truly outstanding resort and one I would return to without hesitation. We had a great stay at Anantara Layan. A true 5 star experience, very spacious and functional room, very clean (compared to most), very nice views. Also a great plus is that they do manage the smell in the room, as it does not seem stuffy or moldy smelling like so many others sea-adjacent properties (also during the wet season)- They manage to diffuse a pleasant "herbal" scent, somewhat lemon-grassy but not like mosquito spray. Beds are soft and with excellent linens plus a good pillow menu. Staff and their services at every level is outstanding and personal, warm and anticipating. The facilities are great, with a good mix of quality eateries, spa, fitness and activities. Their new Life Facility is amazing, with an amazing gym (all Tehchnogym equipment - the "digital kind"-I only had similar quality at the Okura & The Aman in Tokyo)) and hot/cold plunge & sauna/steam (all complementary). We were unfortunately not able to try out all the other things like zip line, climbing wall etc. - next time. Their activity (free) calendar is very appealing, they offer things to do every hour starting at 8am till later afternoon, ranging from sportive to wellness to fun type activities for all ages... As for the beach, I would give it a 8 out of 10, just because it is not the turquoise tropical coral reef type, but it is as private as it gets as no other hotel is close by or not really accessible form outside the hotel. The vibe is young, especially on the weekend with the buffet where a lot of non-hotel guests seem to partake- somewhat loud music you can't avoid if you are at the main building down at the beach (not affecting the villas & rooms on the hill I think) - making any conversation with the people at your table not easy. We will be back to have more time to enjoy all that is to offer. Thanks for making our stary so relaxing and fun.

The staff is outstanding , property is really well kept , very good options for kids too to spend time …not the best beach in front - but they make it up with their attention to details - which you can’t neglect when you start exploring the resort and inside the room too Very kind and generous staff around , I’d like to take two names that were stand out for us 1. Elisa from front desk / Manager - who is such a kind soul and made sure our kid got all the attention - he still misses her - her effortless bonding with him and us - left a lasting impact - my kid gave her a greeting card (4 year old scribbles ) as a memory - she specifically made sure our kid got rides to room in the door less cars which he was crazy about 🙃- thanks for going extra mile and making sure our kid was super happy - we don’t have their selfie unfortunately which is with Elisa 😂 2.Baifern was always kind enough to provide recommendations , made sure she took time out to explain the in and arounds of phuket - very courteous and kind - great talking to her and bonding - while she was also new to phuket and not her native town - she called up friends and wrote stuff Down for us 🙃 3. Can’t remember who the Physio was in wellness Center - she was incredible with her work on my shoulder pain - she also detailed our where the pain points where - how to take care of them for future - extremely good Physiotherapy session - i think it was Zara If you are reading this - many thanks Zara (hope I got the name right) Many thanks for hosting us and we will be back again

Unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations, and the level of service was simply not commensurate with the price paid or the standard expected from a hotel of this category. From the very first day, the front desk experience was extremely poor. The room was handed over late, and worse, when I finally received it, it was not fully ready and several essential items were missing—issues that should have been checked and resolved before allowing a guest to enter the room. The front desk experience on our final day was also extremely disappointing. This confirmed that what happened on the first day was not merely an isolated incident, but rather appears to reflect a broader issue with the quality of front desk service, organization, and guest handling. Another major issue was the large number of mosquitoes and bees around and inside the room. This significantly affected our sleep, as we were repeatedly bitten at night and struggled to sleep comfortably. We reported the issue to the hotel as early as the second day of our stay, yet no effective solution was provided until our final day. For a hotel of this category and price level, it is extremely disappointing that a problem directly affecting guests’ comfort and sleep was left unresolved for most of the stay despite being reported early. In addition, the way some of the golf carts were driven around the resort felt unsafe at times, which is particularly concerning for families with children. The coordination between Layan Active Zone and the hotel was also extremely poor and disorganized, resulting in a frustrating experience. A much higher standard of communication and coordination between the two should be expected. Overall, the service provided does not reflect the price paid, nor does it meet the standard expected from a hotel of this category. While the property itself may have positive aspects, the repeated service failures, poor coordination, delayed response to reported issues, and lack of attention to basic guest comfort made the overall experience disappointing.
