About the Hotel

Phuket may be one of the world’s premier beach destinations, but staying at Anantara Phuket Villas is like having a private slice of the island. On a well-manicured section of Mai Khao Beach, each self-sustaining villa unfolds into at least 600 square feet of living space. Tropical breezes flow through an open-air contemporary design highlighted by bamboo accents and Southern Thai exoticism. Most luscious is the aqua-tiled private pool just two strides from the bed.

Reviews for Anantara Phuket Villas

Another Perfect Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We stayed for 2 weeks in a Lagoon Pool villa (30), which was very well appointed and located in a quiet area of the resort. As always the service and facilities were first class. The food at all restaurants was outstanding and in particular the buffet banquet night at Sea, Fire and Salt. Highly recommended if you like sea food and BBQ steaks etc. credit to the Executive Chef (Ian Thomason and his team). My wife went to the gym most days. I also went to the gym and then walked out again, as I remembered I was on holiday and had to maintain my Thai title (Khun Lung King Kong). The gym was well equipped though and Sara was always there to greet us with a friendly smile. The Spa was great and the 90 minute Anantara Signature massage was particularly enjoyable. Our thanks to Nana who looked after us here on several occasions. We enjoyed the new bar Bua Bar for after dinner cocktails. A great addition the resort. We explored Turtle village (adjacent to the hotel) and enjoyed daily fruit smoothies from the ‘Coffee Club’. There was also an ice cream parlour and pizzeria which provided delicious produce. As a plane lover, I particularly enjoyed standing underneath the flight path of the incoming aircraft at Mai Khao Beach (located approximately 15 minutes drive away). Finally a special thanks to restaurant front of house staff, Toy, Bonus, Dunk and Fon who went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. We look forward to returning next year Paul & Leonie - UK

Could be lovely

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We stayed here for two nights having spent a week at Andara in Kamala. This part of Phuket is much nicer than the southern parts of the island but unfortunately that is probably all I can really say that is positive about our experience. When we booked we stated we are a family of 4 and booked an advised pool villa. A few days later the hotel sent an email asking for the ages of the children so we told them we had 10 year old twins. They stated that one would sleep on a sofa (not a sofa bed) and the other could bunk in with us. We said this wasn’t satisfactory so they said they would make up an L shaped sofa. When we arrived to the hotel there was nobody to help with our bags so we dragged these to reception ourselves. We were taken on a tour of the property (which was lovely and has rabbits and chickens) before being taken to our house. The villa itself is nice enough, though a bit odd. It has a large kitchen with extensive cooking facilities and the L shaped sofa was made up as bed for the entire duration of our stay for the kids. That meant we had no communal area and it felt a bit grim having our kids sleep in a kitchen/diner. The cleaner did a terrible job, the worst of which was that they didn’t use the anti mosquito plugs which we’d been told they would use. We got bitten to death. They washed ashtrays in the bathroom sink and left the cigarette butts in the plughole. The place felt dusty and dirty. We ate in the restaurant (la sala)and again the service was poor, our daughters drink didn’t arrive, our sons food took 20 minutes to arrive after we’d all finished and we struggled to get cutlery. A tea ordered at the pool was cold and they didn’t seem bothered when we said it wasn’t hot. It’s a real shame. It’s a nice place that feels like it’s not being maintained as it should be and the service is far below what you’d expect. Breakfast was pretty good but again rubbish service. For nearly five hundred pounds a night it was easily the worst place we stayed during our trip.

Paradise on earth

Should there be one single place to experience while in Phuket, it is definitely Anantara Mai Khao! Settled within a very serene and lush laguna, this property offers peacefulness of the mind right from the very first steps amongst its luxuriant vegetation and pathways. The Sala Pool Villa is an absolute must, as it has a private Sala (overwater terrace) over the laguna, the bedroom is spacious and its terrace is very neatly done. One can fully relax just by floating in the pool, watching the beautiful flowers and listening to the many singing birds. The breakfast buffet boasts a huge variety of delicious treats and La Sala restaurant's Thaï gastronomy is very good. We will definitely be back, should another opportunity present itself. Thank you so much to everyone in this hotel for creating and maintaining such a peaceful, relaxing and quality environment!

Pure Luxury

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We stayed at this hotel for 8 days, and the experience was pure luxury. The hotel itself is truly stunning—next-level luxury. The rooms are beautifully designed, the gardens are immaculate, and the entire property feels like a peaceful oasis. The facilities are top-tier: yoga and Pilates classes especially the Pilates lesson from Oam is a 10, great gyms, kidsclub is nice and everything is impeccably maintained. On top of that, the service is beyond exceptional—every staff member we encountered was warm, helpful, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. After a few days, we were also eager to explore the area, but there’s very little to do nearby unless you’re happy staying on-site the entire time which we were since we really wanted to take a break.
