Anantara Phuket Villas

We absolutely loved this hotel. It was supremely luxurious. We stayed in the 2 bedroom pool pavillion which was excellent. The hotel is spotless and the staff are amazing. Everyone was so friendly. Our Villa assistant Poy was outstanding, she was always on hand to help us with whatever we needed organising taxis, recommending restaurants and trips etc. This hotel is in the north of Phuket so away from the hustle and bustle of Phuket town and Patong so there’s not as many restaurants and things to do but that didn’t bother us. We found some lovely open air beach restaurants near the Marriott which was a short walk away and cooked the most amazing fresh seafood all run by families and such good value. We did eat in the hotel a couple of times which was great but much more expensive than the local restaurants. We also visited the Phuket Elephant Sanctuary which was great, phukets only real completely ethical sanctuary. We also did a day trip to Phi Phi Islands through V Marine tours on Viator which was an amazing trip. Overall we absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend this hotel!

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and always willing to help. As a GHA member, I was pleasantly surprised to receive an excellent room upgrade – the suite was spacious and comfortable, offering great privacy. The location is also convenient, just a short drive from the airport. However, there are a couple of areas that could be improved. The breakfast service was a bit slow, especially for made-to-order items. Also, the beachfront area was under renovation during my stay, so the sea view wasn’t quite ready yet.

Very happy, there are multiple resorts avoid the club and stay in the Villas for seriously next level experience. Most staff proficient in English and 24/7 support, food, nurse ect everything you could ever need. Having staff at the airport made life easier too on both arrival and departure. Main pool was being upgraded during our stay & daily room credit included was very good value.

It pains me to write this because the property is so gorgeous. Prior to arrival and way after booking a deluxe suite at this property we received an email informing us the beachfront restaurant and pool would be under construction. Too late to cancel or change. Fine, I emailed and they gave us a percentage off F&B. We really had our hopes up after staying at Anantara Lawana in Koh Samui at the beginning of our trip. Mai Khao villas Phuket doesn't even compare. Upon check-in we realize we're not even on the hotel side, it's the vacation club villas. Confusion, Red flag. Nowhere mentioned during booking, no location, nothing. We're put up in an apartment reminding me of a studio in Jersey City. Couples vacation, not feeling like a couples vacation. I request to move to the hotel side. I'm accommodated but they're upselling a villa, red flag. We're on vacation, no pool on property to access. Felt cornered into a villa for 4 days, fine. Is this normal practice?
