Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket

The hotel experience was great. The pools, slides, river facilities were cool. But I didn’t feel like making the right choice to stay here for a special trip. 1. My booking package provided early check in or late check out. We requested late check out in the reservation and during check-in but was told by the hotel staff that it was unavailable, as “it’s subject to availability.” I find it deceiving to state it in the package: as all guests could ask for late check out subject to availability, why state in the package? 2. We booked our trip for our wedding anniversary trip, and found the hotel room well equipped of what we needed, but later found out the claimed bathtub simply missing. We made sure it wasn’t “subject to availability” and asked for a room change. The staff was prompt to help out replacing the room, but we weren’t told the bathtub was missing. 3. We really appreciated the special room setup and the cake for our wedding anniversary, but the cake had a “happy birthday” tag on it. It was a small issue but I wish your staff, having managed many of these requests, would’ve known the difference between a birthday and an anniversary. Even there was a 15% off F&B discount from the booking, which your staff didn’t mention during check-in if it’s available, I didn’t feel like having the special meal here inside the hotel.

The grounds and resort is simply stunning, but what makes it more beautiful are the kind staff who work across all areas of the business - nothing is too much trouble. This was an amazing family holiday and our stay was faultless. Amazing food, facilities and experiences (think day spa, tennis lessons, cooking class). This moment and holiday gave us the greatest gift, time together in a beautiful location.

Amazing resort! The rooms were so clean and spacious. The resort has a lovely relaxing feel to it. The adult pool ripples bar was tour favourite location to relax and have a cocktail. The food at all the restaurants was top quality. Most of of all the staff at this resort were second to none, so kind and caring and willing to attend your every need day and night. We loved our stay at centara grand resort Phuket and would be back again!

The property is nice but the rooms are spread out across such a wide space that each time we left the property, we used to go around in circles looking for our room. David was the only staff member who was courteous and always smiling. Most of the other staff members were pretty arrogant and we almost felt like we were being snubbed, as Indians. The rooms were not even cleaned properly every day. The floors were not even swept, forget being swabbed. When one pays a good amount for the hotel rooms, one expects clean rooms at least. Otherwise, the service was fairly good, with towels, water, etc. being delivered by the housekeeping staff, promptly. Cleanliness needs to be the top priority for any hotel chain with a reputation like Centara grand.

The hotel is old and run down now , you can find much better properties on Karon beach. The sense of service has completely eroded , the staff is rude and could not careless. Food is extremely over priced for the quality , breakfast is simply not for vegetarians. On the last day of the trip, I got to know about their vegetarian menu. One can find a better property on karon/patong beach , in the 3000-4000 Baht range
