Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket

We had a lovely relaxing time with our friends. The resort was beautiful! We loved being so close to the beach and markets with plenty of places to explore! The spa and fitness centre were excellent and we had great food and drink options at the restaurants on site.

We chose this hotel as we had previously stayed at the Centara hotel in Hua Hin. We loved this hotel. The Centara in Phuket could not be more different. It wasn’t for us. But most of that is not the hotels fault. It’s ours. We picked badly. We’re middle aged, no kids with us. The hotel is geared up for kids in mind. Kids club, kids activities, hotel full of kids. This makes it super noisy & busy. Not the hotels fault. The hotel has a stupid towel rule. You need a 1 card per 1 towel. Whilst no one needs 14 towels. Even getting 2 out of the pool attendant was tough going. Don’t need to have a row for an extra towel. We found the adult only pool. Much more civilised & quiet. O who was the pool attendant was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. Made us feel right at home. He’s a real credit to the hotel. Breakfast was manic. Very noisy, very busy, queues for everything. Food was ok. Plenty to choose from. Again. Our fault. Way too busy for us. We ate in the restaurants a lot. Yada was brilliant. She took great care of us. Food was good although at times it felt like they were understaffed. On arrival. There was no welcome drink. Instead they offered a voucher. That’s hardly a welcome drink. And a cold flannel would have been great. It would have been nice to have seen the general manager walking around. Chatting to guests, making sure standards are kept high. We saw no sign of anyone. The grounds are kept well maintained. The room was cleaned well. They lay on lots of evening themed dinners which was nice to see. Mosquitos are a real Issue here. We were bitten really badly even with constantly applying mossie spray. Perhaps the hotel could do more on the mossie issue. Overall it’s a good hotel, most staff are ok, some Yada, O, Ice, are excellent. It will suit many. It was too noisy, busy for us. But that’s our mistake.

As always, we loved our stay - from the excellent service, smiling hospitality, beautiful beach, happy water slides (yes, even at my mid-50’s age, I couldn’t resist them), to the relaxing club lounge, the comfortable room with a view of the sunset, and the friendly restaurant areas. Special thanks to hotel GM Bernd, for taking super good care of us, as well as Nannie, Army, and Carla for warmly attending to us at the Club Lounge! We are carrying back with us many beautiful memories of all our stays at this special resort hotel!

My family and I stayed here for 2 nights, the one bed villa is spacious and service level is great. We totally enjoyed the resort ambience and my kid was happy playing in the water park, they have a private beach, a serene spa and yummy international selection for food. Additionally, the pink color building is very instagrammable, come here to check it out yourself, a value of money experience.
