Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket

Excellent stay all around! The kids club especially the staff May, Mon, Pang and Kwan were so engaging with the kids! Plenty of activities to keep them busy. Great pool, service, food, rooms.

We stayed here with my children (11 & 12) over Christmas. We stayed in a villa suite with the pool which was bliss as we were able to escape the crowds around the pool. The pool is huge with 2 slides and a lazy river. The floor of the pool is get sharp, all the family have cuts and scrapes from the floor so I’d recommend water shoes. The food in the buffet was extensive with lots of variety with breakfast styles catered for although I would say that it would be good to have more fruit variety. If you want to get out of the resort for variety then Paton has markets, mall & bars & restaurants. Caron beach has a great mini golf but was crazy busy (Benidorm vibes). We did like the hotel but it isn’t your typical laid back Thai hotel so if you’re looking for something more traditional/laid back/personal I’d recommend going to khao lak. It was expensive so I think you can get better value for money elsewhere.

The breakfast was very disappointing for the size of the hotel. Very limited veg options and only one coffee machine to serve more than 500 guests who had to queue up every morning to make their coffee. The staff response was very dismissal and also very rude and unhelpful staff at breakfast. The general cleanliness of the hotel was not to the standards of centara especially room cleaning and the breakfast area. On the last day day had an unfortunate event of where the toilet glass door fell off as I was leaving the bathroom as I pulled the handle and shattered all over me and injuring me. I had fine glass on my hair, hands and feet. The reception sent staff straight away to clean it but no apology was offered or sympathetic at all. Was taken to the nurse who tried her best to remove the glass as best as she could but still fine shards glass remained. We asked to be moved to another room immediately as the glass had shattered all over the bathroom and bedroom and we had two kids and very worried of the fine glass cutti g them. They said they will deep clean the existing room and another room wouldn't be avaible till 3pm. I was very disappointed with their response as I had been hurt and the least they could have done is assured us that we could have a room to move immediately for me to clean up. My husband asked for some sort of compensation after what I went through but again there was no response. He eventually managed to get a free manicure and pedicure but the trauma that we went through the whole morning was not nice especially with the kids. As we checked out that same day to catch a flight back home there was no apology from centara management or staff. Am highly disappointed as Centara is a very renowed brand and I expected a lot more from it after our horrible experience.

Clean property with great pool for kids. Food was expensive and I'd recommend going into town as much as possible aside from the breakfast buffet.

The perfect resort!! Surrounded by a beautiful jungle view and by a connected wonderful beach! The service was great, and especially in the kids playground where they spent many hours. Special thanks to Pang, Kwan and Mon who played with the kids so nicely (see photo). The rooms were also wonderful with excellent beach and pool view and very comfortable beds. Most recommended!!
