Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket

was my first time in Phuket and also first trip with my girlfriend, so we was little nervous but also excited. this hotel was really nice, like more beautiful than photos. the pool is very big and clean, we spend many time there just relaxing. beach also very close, only few steps, and sunset was very amazing, we take many pictures. room was comfortable, not super luxury but enough for us. staff always smiling and help us even when our english not so good. breakfast also good, many choice, i eat too much every morning 😅

This was me and my boyfriend first time travel out of country, so we a little nervous at first, but everything was very nice. Shai is very nice she show us our room, make us good coffee, and make everything feel easy and welcome she's very friendly and chill. Our stay here was very good, perfect first trip for us :)

Greta experience with a very nice Birthday suprise up on arrival. The room is very spacious and I really like the style of the room. The private pool is amazing. The staff was always very friendly and professional. Special thanks to Tony Front office manger. The children loved the kid's club with all the fun activities. Also great food.

The best feature of the hotel is the big rooms. Location is a bit isolated. You can not go to anywhere by walking. There is an uphill slope road in front of the hotel and a dark road which makes it difficult to walk outside. Reception is outdoor and lots of mosquitoes welcoming you in the beginning. Rooms need a long walking distance according to structure of the hotel. Elevators are located apart from each other making it difficult to access to beach or lobby. Especially it is not a right choice for elder people. They are making the hotel full by accepting some groups but the staff and the amenities are not enough for that many of people. Although waiters are very helpful during breakfast you need to wait for queues or you need to collect dirty dishes in your table waiting for a long time to be collected. Everyday they put almost same food in breakfast and many basic choices like tomato, corn, cucumber are missing. You always need to look for assistance from waiters who are very busy. They have 2 restaurants one featuring open buffet everyday one italian a la carte restaurant but serving some other indian or thai food. Food choices and quality in italian is average. We ate 3 times and tried italian, thai and indian but i can not say they worth to try. For the open buffet everyday they make a new concept but the food are very similar. Basically seafood grill and some other thai or vegetable options with some choices of soups and fruit. Quality is again average. Unfortunately we have got poisoned 2 times in the hotel. It may be because of the food being served outdoors or the quality of the food i don’t know. But other than this the taste is not so good. You smell the sea water in all grilled seafood. Maybe they are not washed enough i have no idea. In my opinion these two restaurants concerning their quality and food choices are not enough for this big complex. Coming to the pool and the beach; beach is not totally private, you need to walk on the public beach in front for about 70m to access the sea. There is a small dirty water puddle on the right sise which makes bad smell and not a good scenery. Chairs in front of the pools are getting full mostly. But you can often find chairs in silent area. Pools are shallow (1.20m) and very hot water. There is a jakuzi not working properly. You may see some maintenance problems such as broken toilets. They do not give enough importance for keeping everything working properly. There is a small water park for children which seems fun but i am not sure of the hygene of the water. As i mentioned in the beginning of my comment rooms are very big. We stayed in two rooms one with a private pool second with a jakuzi. One with jakuzi was a better option as the pool was a bit cold and very small. If you stay upper floor sunset seems very nice especially in jakuzi. In balcony there is a sitting area but as the cushions are very thin you need to ask for more so sit comfortably. They do not have smart tv so you can not use youtube etc. Overall i am not satisfied with the hotel when compared to others in the same area with really private beach and better service and hygiene. Their price is in upper segment but the service and amenities are not in that segment. I stay in other centara group hotels like in Lad Prao, Bangkok, they are one or two steps up better than here.
