Como Point Yamu: Our New Number One in Phuket!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We checked into Como Point Yamu for a 4 day, 3 night stay to celebrate our anniversary, bringing along our 11 month old son on his very first trip outside of Malaysia. Naturally, as new parents, we were a little nervous about how he’d settle in and what we’d do about food. To our relief, the complimentary infant menu was a lifesaver, thoughtful, practical, and made us feel instantly at ease. From the very start, the experience felt special. Reya at reception set the tone with a seamless check in, warm smiles, and that reassuring touch you hope for when travelling with a baby. Each morning, breakfast at La Sirena was a highlight, not just because of the generous spread and the changing daily specials, but thanks to Day, who was always attentive, gracious, and made sure our mornings were smooth. And then there was Joy. I bumped into her while walking back to my room, and what started as a quick hello turned into a genuinely warm chat. It wasn’t scripted hospitality; it felt like talking to a local friend, full of charm and insight. Little moments like this gave the stay a personal touch I’ll remember. The property itself is breathtaking. The views stretch endlessly, the landscaping is beautifully cared for, and the facilities are spotlessly maintained. There’s a sense that every corner has been considered, yet it never feels overdone. The only speed bump in an otherwise excellent stay was in room dining. I had planned to eat most of my meals at the hotel, but my first order, the crab fried rice, left me underwhelmed. Beautifully plated, yes, but light on crab and missing the simple addition of an egg to round it off. At a resort of this calibre, the dining should rise to the same high standards set everywhere else on property. That said, the overall experience more than made up for it. I’ve previously stayed at Amanpuri and The Surin whenever I visited Phuket, but I’m moving Como Point Yamu up to my number one stay on the island. A heartfelt thank you to the team, from front desk to restaurant staff, for making our anniversary trip and our son’s first holiday abroad one to remember. We’ll definitely be back.

I loved it, it’s incredible, everyone very attentive, I went with friends and I really recommend going, there were some details but they were quickly solved by the staff, I will definitely go again, I love to travel and I still lack several countries, without a doubt this is being the best so far, thank you, I’ll be back soon

A Wonderful, Relaxing Stay on a Tranquil Hillside

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

We’ve been visiting Phuket for over 30 years, and this was our first time staying at COMO Point Yamu — it quickly became one of our favorites. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully designed, with a stunning view and private pool that made for a truly relaxing stay. The staff service stood out as exceptional throughout our visit. From check-in to dining, everyone was welcoming, attentive, and made us feel genuinely cared for. The public pool area also offered spectacular views and a peaceful, soothing ambience. Overall, it was a calm and rejuvenating escape. We’re already looking forward to returning with our family to try other room types. Highly recommended for those seeking a relaxing and high-quality stay in Phuket.

Awesome hotel and staff. Great location and facilities. Food in Thai restaurant very good. Just disappointed we were only staying for one night!! Will definitely stay again if in the area. Beautiful views and amazing sunset from room 202.

Get a room with a pool

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

The good: View is spectacular from our Phang Nga pool suite. Pool is one of the cleanest private pools we had. Good size too. Room is super spacious for two adults. Breakfast is not bad although lacking varieties when comparing to some other lux hotels. Love the daily specials. Staff are all super lovely. The housekeeping lady for our floor (room 159) is the most thorough, hardworking housekeeping staff. Had some issues with our F&B experience but the management (Khun Chris and Khun Oui) acted promptly and had it sorted out immediately. The bad: Extremely far away from everything. Took 45 mins in a taxi to get to the old Phuket town. The public pool area needs better shades/umbrellas otherwise you might get burnt. The existing umbrellas literally do nothing. Hence my suggestion of getting a room with private pool. The hotel is quite small with not a lot to do, which suits us fine but if you have children I’d imagine you would run out of stuff to do pretty quickly. The hotel also needs more restaurants. There are no other restaurant options within walking distance. Two restaurants in a very remote hotel are simply not going to work. Also would suggest half board/full board options from the hotel. Tips: Grab for food delivery is a good option.
