Great Stay and Location with some room for improvement

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

I stayed in this beautiful hotel for almost 2 full weeks and thoroughly enjoyed most aspects of my stay. Let's first dive into the positives: The arrival service options at the airport including Mercedes S-Class Transfer was great. It was easy to find and the ride was smooth with a friendly driver. Generally, the staff is very friendly and the facilities are overall clean and well maintained. The suite I booked (Phang Nga Pool Suite) was spacious and offered all the amenities I hoped for. The pool in the suite is large compared to a lot of rooms and suites I experienced in the past in similar hotels all over the world. The room service is of good quality and you have a broad selection of food and drinks that you can order to the room. The minibar is stocked as you'd expect with the standard stuff and pricing of the items is fair. Plus you get an infinite amount of free bottled water. The bathroom offers a large shower (you could probably fit 8 people in there easily) and also a large bathtub. When it comes to the restaurants the quality of the food is good however, if you stay for 2 weeks the choice with only 2 restaurants is somewhat limited. Given my limitation of not eating fish/seafood it is even more limited however, I cannot blame the hotel for that. Now the points I think the hotel can improve: I was rather disappointed by their concierge service. I am used to being able to get custom private tours organised either by the hotel or by a third party agency that works with the hotel from other vacations in Asia and all over the world. The concierge did not give me the feeling that the tours organised by their third parties are good options to chose so in the end I did not book any tours at all. The second point that can be improved is the breakfast. The buffet is mid-sized with some options in all the important areas ranging from cheese, meats, bakery, cereals, fruits and more. It offers a nice variety if you spend a few days in the hotel but for a full two weeks it starts to become rather boring. I would strongly suggest they bring in more variety in the cheese selection and maybe extend their meat selection as well. Also it was unfortunate that for the a la carte options that you can order small adjustments couldn't be accommodated. One example was that they had an item with a coconut flavored waffle and I asked if it would be possible to get the same with a normal waffle which they couldn't accommodate. Given the overall price I paid for this and the weighting of positives and negatives I would rate this somewhere around 4 and 4.5 out of 5.

Luxury resort in Phuket Island

The resort has a wonderful 360 degree sea view from the pool area. The resort is perfect for relaxation, very luxury. They had a wonderful breakfast freshly cook ala carte menu. And they also have small buffet for the fruits, salad bars, cheese and etc. They have a freshly squeezed wellness juice in the buffet. They even have fresh coconut in the buffet. Super amazing. The room is spacious, the design is so nice. Highly recommended to stay here.

Como Point Yamu: Our New Number One in Phuket!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We checked into Como Point Yamu for a 4 day, 3 night stay to celebrate our anniversary, bringing along our 11 month old son on his very first trip outside of Malaysia. Naturally, as new parents, we were a little nervous about how he’d settle in and what we’d do about food. To our relief, the complimentary infant menu was a lifesaver, thoughtful, practical, and made us feel instantly at ease. From the very start, the experience felt special. Reya at reception set the tone with a seamless check in, warm smiles, and that reassuring touch you hope for when travelling with a baby. Each morning, breakfast at La Sirena was a highlight, not just because of the generous spread and the changing daily specials, but thanks to Day, who was always attentive, gracious, and made sure our mornings were smooth. And then there was Joy. I bumped into her while walking back to my room, and what started as a quick hello turned into a genuinely warm chat. It wasn’t scripted hospitality; it felt like talking to a local friend, full of charm and insight. Little moments like this gave the stay a personal touch I’ll remember. The property itself is breathtaking. The views stretch endlessly, the landscaping is beautifully cared for, and the facilities are spotlessly maintained. There’s a sense that every corner has been considered, yet it never feels overdone. The only speed bump in an otherwise excellent stay was in room dining. I had planned to eat most of my meals at the hotel, but my first order, the crab fried rice, left me underwhelmed. Beautifully plated, yes, but light on crab and missing the simple addition of an egg to round it off. At a resort of this calibre, the dining should rise to the same high standards set everywhere else on property. That said, the overall experience more than made up for it. I’ve previously stayed at Amanpuri and The Surin whenever I visited Phuket, but I’m moving Como Point Yamu up to my number one stay on the island. A heartfelt thank you to the team, from front desk to restaurant staff, for making our anniversary trip and our son’s first holiday abroad one to remember. We’ll definitely be back.

A Wonderful, Relaxing Stay on a Tranquil Hillside

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 months ago

We’ve been visiting Phuket for over 30 years, and this was our first time staying at COMO Point Yamu — it quickly became one of our favorites. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully designed, with a stunning view and private pool that made for a truly relaxing stay. The staff service stood out as exceptional throughout our visit. From check-in to dining, everyone was welcoming, attentive, and made us feel genuinely cared for. The public pool area also offered spectacular views and a peaceful, soothing ambience. Overall, it was a calm and rejuvenating escape. We’re already looking forward to returning with our family to try other room types. Highly recommended for those seeking a relaxing and high-quality stay in Phuket.
