The Dusit Laguna Resort, Phuket is a five-star hotel located amidst the tropical gardens and azure waters of the island of Phuket in Thailand. The hotel is part of Laguna Phuket, South-East Asia's first fully integrated resort, where you can enjoy the combined facilities of no less than five top hotels. The idyllic surroundings of swaying coconut palms, vast lagoons and a white sand beach belie the fact the Dusit Laguna Resort, Phuket is only 22 kilometres from Phuket International Airport, and close to both Phuket town and a number of Phuket tourist sites including Wat Phra Tong and the Thalang Museum. The Dusit Laguna Resort, Phuket features 226 superbly appointed guest rooms and suites, including extra-spacious Landmark Suites, all with private balconies. The rooms are bright and airy and decorated with antique carvings, ceramics, and native woods. For visitors wanting a Phuket hotel with a wide variety of recreational facilities, Dusit Laguna Resort is the ideal choice.

Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket is a beautiful hotel, and there is no doubt it has the appearance and feel of a true five-star property. In fact, the photos really do not do the resort justice — the grounds, landscaping and overall presentation are impressive. We booked a Premier Beachfront Room and paid a premium price expecting something special. While the room itself was lovely, we were surprised by the size. It was quite small, with a very small balcony area, and we honestly felt the photos made it appear much larger than it actually was. Looking back, we would have chosen a more affordable room category, as the rooms all appeared to be very similar in size and style. The resort has only one main pool, but it is very well designed and functional. It has a deeper swimming area, a kids' slide and a beach-style entry, which we actually ended up enjoying. However, this was also where we found the biggest issue — the pool area was extremely family-focused. We had chosen Dusit Thani because the lagoon area appeared to have a more relaxed, adult atmosphere, but in reality the pool was packed with children and often felt more like a busy family centre than the peaceful resort environment we were expecting. We also found the surrounding Laguna area underwhelming. We were looking forward to exploring Boat Avenue, but unfortunately it did not live up to expectations. We found many of the shops and restaurants overpriced and not particularly appealing, and it was not somewhere we would rush back to. The hotel advertises a shuttle service to nearby areas, including Boat Avenue, but this was never offered to us. When we asked the staff, there seemed to be confusion about the service, so we ended up taking a local taxi instead. The short trip cost 200 baht each way, which felt expensive considering the distance was only a couple of minutes. One of our biggest disappointments was during the rainy weather. We experienced heavy rain for three of our four days, and we were surprised that the hotel had very limited indoor activities. We had seen a pool table advertised and expected there would be some indoor entertainment options, but when we looked for it, we discovered that area had been converted into a conference room. With the weather preventing outdoor activities, there was very little to do, and we found ourselves confined to our room. Another point worth mentioning is the 6,000 baht deposit taken at check-in. While we understand deposits are common, we were advised it could take up to two weeks for the credit card refund to appear, which felt excessive and left us feeling like a significant amount of money was tied up unnecessarily. Overall, Dusit Thani Laguna is a beautiful property with excellent presentation and lovely grounds, but for us the experience did not match the expectations of a luxury five-star holiday. We left feeling that we had paid a premium price without receiving the facilities, atmosphere or overall experience we were hoping for.

Such a beautiful location with gorgeous views, clean rooms, and a delicious Seafood restaurant that was amazing. This was our last stop after a three city tour visiting Bangkok, Krabi, and lastly Phuket and by far our favorite hotel of the three.

We stayed at Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket, which sits within the larger Laguna Phuket complex — a network of resorts, restaurants, and entertainment venues linked by footpaths and waterways, functioning more like a self-contained district than a single property. One practical advantage stood out immediately: the hotel is located directly on Bang Tao Beach, a beachfront position that is relatively uncommon among Phuket hotels and simplifies daily access considerably. Breakfast was consistently strong throughout our stay, with egg Benedict, salmon, and a solid cheese selection among the standout offerings. Overall, the layout and amenities work efficiently for a multi-generational trip.

We landed at Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket and honestly, the beach is what got me first — Bang Tao is one of the best stretches of sand on the island, and so few hotels actually sit right on it the way this one does. We stayed at the room with garden access, and I loved that... no stairs, no lobby maze, just step outside and you're already among the palms and lawn. One evening we wandered over to Casuarina Beach Club for dinner, and wow, the sashimi platter alone was worth the trip, plus a gorgeous sunset and a little fire show while we ate. Meanwhile our kids were off having their own adventure at the activity room, and the marshmallow campfire night became the highlight of their whole trip!
