4th. time revisiting Dusit Thani Laguna

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We just came back from our 2 weeks fantastic holiday at the Dusit Laguna for the 4th. year. It is as fantastic as we remember and look forward to every year. All the staffs are extremely friendly and service minded. We want to thank each and every one at all the restaurants, at the breakfast, afternoon tea and not the least, the evening cocktail bar. The room, the cleanliness, the service, extra kind service from especially Khun Waraporn from the management team. We look so much forward to come back again next year. See you all, we miss you already.

Although we had to change our room - We asked for a Lagoon View and paid for this, we did initially look at a fence! However, after getting there after a three hour transfer, and thinking about it, we changed our room with their help, and it was much better and lighter. They were always on hand to help - we wanted to go to the night market, and they said we could take the hotel taxi, which we did for a small charge. We could have walked, but we arrived fresh, and someone came to pick us up at the restaurant they had booked for us. (They took a picture of us, so they knew who to pick up!). The night market is a must if you are there on a Friday night, they sell everything from food to clothes, bags, accessories, etc., etc. Dusit Thani is on the beach and we went to a couple of the Beach Bars, namely the Beach Pig - which was really good and also they had live entertainment there, food was excellent too. We drank cocktails, as there is a large tax on the wines, which I presume they import. The pool opens from 7 a,m. To 7 p.m. and is very nice, as is the beach and the sea. It is very clean (have heard some beaches are not and littered with plastic) and very sandy, so no need for coral shoes. We did not snorkel, but there were plenty of places to book half day trips and day trips if you wished. On the beach you can also acquire some coconut milk/water, which is prepared fresh, along with other things, like fresh fruit, and coke, etc., A special mention for Pattagha, who helped us organise our room, and other things, she was truly a star. Breakfast was good, and had everything that you could want. Be careful if you sit outside, as the birds do like to share your breakfast, if there is no one at the table.! Had a couple of massages at the hotel, which were first rate, and they were done in the grounds of the hotel, open air. You have to book these, and booking opens at 8.00 a.m. in the morning, at the centre where you can book for yoga (an extra charge) - we did this, but found it to be more like vinyassa, rather than Hatha.

Stunning beachfront hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This was my final hotel of my 2 week trip to Thailand and I am so glad it didn’t disappoint. I have absolutely nothing but good things to say about this wonderful establishment. From the minute I saw the lovely walk up the entrance to the reception area on the right I could just tell it was not going to disappoint. Firstly, was greeted with a lovely cool drink and some lovely lotus flowers . The check in was so quick and I was in my room within 10 mins - although I could quite happily have stayed in the air conditioned reception. The smell in there is indescribable it’s just so beautiful. Wish I would have asked what it was that smelt so beautiful. Anyway, onto my room which was quite near reception on the same floor. That was absolutely stunning with everything you could possibly need, including slippers/dressing gowns/a beach bag/ flip flops/ hairdryer / the usual complimentary toiletries and also a touch of luxurious bath salts to soak away the tiredness of my fun packed days of either being out on excursions or a few pool/beach days. Absolutely no faults whatever apart from there not being a safe in the closet where I was informed it would be. Quick phone call and it was rectified immediately. The bed was enormous with a cute little welcome message and I slept so well and even better that I had it all to myself with being a solo female traveller. Also just to mention the room does have a chargeable mini bar with snacks, beers, soft drink, and also wine and whisky. I was on a bed and breakfasts package and I must say you will never go hungry. There was so much choice at breakfast and it really was so delicious I also went to the onsite Italian restaurant which was amazing. Onto the outside now. The grounds are very spacious and very well kept. It has a good sized swimming pool with a children’s section and lots of sunbeds. You can collect your towel here from the friendly guys at the beach hut with no deposit needed. I personally choose to take a bed on the beach which was gorgeous. Lots of bar beach/huts which sell food/ beach toys/ smoothies cocktails etc. A special mention to Anna Bar on the beach located just on the beach opposite the beach entrance to the hotel. She is a star and hilarious. Also a special mention to the house keeps staff whitens fabulous job not just the rooms but the whole hotel is continuously cleans at all times Outside of the hotel is quite quiet but there are places to go if you like to have a little wonder around. You won’t get the feel of the let’s say for example ” Bangla Road /Ao nang” area as my personal opinion is that the Laguna area of Phuket is quite an exclusive area and is developing very quickly to be a very upmarket beautiful hotel/ private dwellings being expanded in the area. Straight out of the hotel is the Canal Shopping centre it’s about 2 minutes walk out of the lobby on your left . Few shops , few nice restaurants chemist, currency exchange / just the normal things you would expect. There is a 7/11 type shop where you can get anything but it called Topps Daily. Further afield is Boat Avenue which hosts lots of bars and decent restaurants. It’s probably 30 mins max walk. Friday night is market night there selling the normal street food/souvenirs etc. I got a bike/side cart for 200 baht back to my hotel the last night just for the experience To sum up l would personally like to thank every single person who works at Dusit Thani Laguna , Phuket for making my stay so perfect. Thank you all ❤️❤️
