About the Hotel

The Slate is no ordinary beachside resort of thatched-roof cabanas – in its secluded location against a backdrop of dense rainforest, it crosses into the territory of cutting-edge design hotel, and the juxtaposition of nature and industry is alluring. The inspiration for The Slate came from owner Wichit Na-Ranong, whose ancestors led the country’s development through the tin mining industry. Na-Ranong pays tribute to “black gold” through sleek architecture and dark color motifs punctuated by objets d’art. Restaurants Rivet and Rebar, led by chef Fabrizio Crocetta, serve up some of Thailand’s most innovative and eclectic fare.

The best hotel and holiday ever!

Where do I start, from start to finish our holiday was absolutely perfect. Courtesy transport picked us up from Phuket airport which is only 10 minutes away, we were warmly greeted at the airport with refreshing towels and water. Arrival at the hotel is so impressive and you won’t be disappointed with first impressions, the hotel is gorgeous. All the staff and wonderful, kind, helpful and nothing is too much trouble, everyone is just so happy! Our room was outstanding, and immaculate, had lovely view overlooking the family pool. We stayed with our friends for 10 nights and on night two the hotel manager invites you to complimentary cocktail party to welcome you, he spent the whole evening making sure he spoke to everyone and welcome them, it’s the personal touches that sets this hotel apart from others, they think of everything. A welcome card personally written from the manager with a bottle of bubbly, fruit and cakes in your room on arrival. The hotel is set in the most amazing grounds and is simply gorgeous. It’s a piece of paradise. You must visit the black ginger restaurant within the hotel, wow wow wow, the whole experience is something else, the food is superb. A remarkable holiday everything was perfect. Thank you to all the staff at The Slate hotel, we will be back to see you again, we cannot wait. Thailand you have a piece of my heart, unforgettable holiday.

Total relaxation.

We stayed in January for 7 nights, it was our second stay. We are about to book for January 2027, we have traveled extensively and nothing comes close to the slate. Everything is perfect, you feel very safe, cleanliness is perfect, the staff are the best I’ve ever come across. Then there’s the food and drink. Every restaurant is amazing, even the poolside snacks are to die for. We had dinner every night at the hotel, yes it’s more expensive than outside the hotel but boy is it worth it. Drinks before dinner at rebar making full use of the buy one get one free happy hour followed by amazing food served downstairs at rivet makes for a great night, more people should take advantage. Couple of staff there excel (palm and wine). Late night cap at the Tongkah syndicate, great staff and drinks served perfectly. Rooms are in a fab industrial style and the beach across the road is sublime. P.s if you happen to be there when Sunday brunch is on jump at the chance you won’t regret it!
