Perched high atop Cape Panwa, villas at Sri Panwa feel like tropical rainforest tree houses – on three sides, glass windows reveal a panoramic expanse of the Andaman Sea and a terrace infinity pool melts into the horizon. A white sand beach invites long lounging days at the bottom of the craggy hillside, while at the very top a sexy rooftop bar beckons with the perfect sundowner cocktail. If a postcard of paradise could be three dimensional, this is what it would look like.

We enjoyed a six day stay (booked via Expedia) during the last week of October and would highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a place to completely relax/disconnect. ** POSITIVES ** - incredibly happy/attentive staff: I genuinely felt staff like working here, everyone was so courteous and considerate of the tuk tuk service. - gym: the fitness center is great, lots of equipment and I enjoyed one of the morning stretching classes I went to (great teacher!). If anything, I wish there were more classes available. - accommodation: we booked a pool side room facing the west/sunset. The view is lovely and the rooms are super fancy, clean and spacious. Room service was timely and we benefited from free mini-bar refills given we had a couple of snacks available. - bars & swimming pool: the two main swimming pools are both really nice, clean fluffy towels and a big focus on drinks/snacks in a good way. We would spend the AM at the beach pool and then move to the large pool via the Hotbox in the afternoon. There are so many nice butterflies when you approach the beach pool. We booked Baba Nest one evening, but then spent all of the other evenings at the TU bar as we preferred the seating/atmosphere better. The cocktails at the hotel in general are really nice, especially the lychee and mango mojito. - food: breakfast is lovely and super scenic! We enjoyed the cafe daily during the afternoons, the soul restaurant is super yummy. We felt lunch menus were limiting ( more salads, wraps, smoothies would be ideal). Sadly chino was never open when we were there and the hotbox menu looked very limited. ** NEGATIVES ** - external guests: given we spent so much time at TU bar, we felt the exclusivity of the hotel premises was let down by people who quite literally come to take photos and then leave ten minute later without buying any drinks. Perhaps being more strict/vigilant on this would mean you avoid the 15 minute photo sessions. - lack of evening entertainment: after 8pm both bars are closed, people would then go to eat typically but after that - there is absolutely nothing to do at the hotel. My suggestion would be to repurpose the sheesha area (again closed/empty) when we went with board games/another bar for people to relax post dinner. Having a live DJ here & there at the TU bar to mix it up, on our 4th day we knew the music by heart!

Firstly if I could give this place 4.5 stars then I would. It is in a great location, I have stayed in this area before. It is a little far out from the airport and main shops, but if you like a quiet area then this is a good spot. There are some local restaurants but no hustle and bustle. We booked the penthouse suite, and the space was perfect giving our baby the opportunity to crawl around freely. The room was beautiful and clean, the decor was lovely. There were some improvements to be made. 1. The pool was not heated, and one of the lights were not working therefore not fully lit up at night. Having a heated pool during colder months would be perfect for use. 2. There were odd rusty areas around some tiles on the pool, I think for a luxury hotel this needs to be looked at closer and maintained better. 3. The food options were vast, but quality could have been better. Very mediocre food at breakfast and room service. 4. Service at the hotel could be improved, a few things to mention. 1. Communicating with some staff was very difficult as their English was very limited, for a luxury hotel I expect all staff to have excellent communication skills as I have stayed at many luxury hotels and this is key. 2. I ordered food to the hotel and called down to reception to inform them, they agreed to bring the food up and I specifically asked not to ring the bell and knock on the door quietly as my baby was napping. My order placed showed delivered on the app, 10 minutes had passed and no one had brought the food up to me. I rang back down and I was told that the food will be brought to me now, I don’t understand why they didn’t bring it immediately, my food had obviously gone cold as this was now 15 minutes later. They arrived and did not follow instructions and rang the doorbell and woke my baby. If there is another parent reading this you would understand my frustration as nap time for my baby is very precious and once woken when he isn’t ready the whole day goes pear shaped - and it did! 3. I had booked the penthouse which included a kitchen area, but no microwave was provided and I was told I can’t have one in my room, but the villas with a kitchen area have a microwave? Anyway, I asked staff at reception upon check in where I can heat up my babies food during meal times, I was told that I can at the restaurant but there’s a charge of 1000baht each time, that’s almost £23! I was astonished and questioned it, and I was told that’s just the charge. I then asked another member of staff about this and questioned why it was so expensive, and how else can I feed my baby as the hotel doesn’t provide baby food. She was nicer about it and said she will check if the charge applies for baby food, she rang to the room and informed me there would be no charge which was helpful and the issue was resolved. However I am making note of it as this left a distasteful feeling as we arrived to the hotel, the first member of staff was not willing to check for me and just basically told me to suck it up without using the harsh words.

Friendly and courteous staff. Service was impeccable. Clean rooms and pool. The kids liked the games room. Food at the hotbox was delicious, grilled to perfection. Views from Baba nest was breadth taking. The grounds were clean and well maintained.

The hotel is FANTASTIC with a beautiful setting, incredible food, and wonderful staff. Gym is modern and large. Spa is awesome. Swimming pool is also a lap pool. It is on its own little peninsula so is private and protected. All the rooms have great ocean views. Finally, I highly recommend the Mojitos – the best I have ever had, anywhere. We will definitely return.
