Reviews for Thavorn Palm Beach Resort

Wonderful family resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Wonderful family resort in a quieter location on a beautiful beach with clear, warm water and stunning sunsets. The hotel is perfect for families, amazing pools and slides (our kids loved them!), plus a great petting zoo for younger children. Breakfasts were excellent with a huge variety. Staff were fantastic, especially managers Mr Adel and Ms Annie. Handy tip: pre-load your room account on arrival for a 30% credit. We stayed with family who have returned before, and we’d happily return too. Nearby Paradise Restaurant & Bar is cheap, delicious, and a must-visit.

It’s OK. 3/5 stars.

Very big and beautiful hotel and the garden is so impressive! The staff are amazing. Many pools, and family friendly. If you have empty bottles, you can refill them in different spots in the resort (they have water stations/machines) We were there for 7 days, and the isolation in the room are so bad. We heard screamings, door slams and the room service cleaning at 07:00, so we did not get so much good sleep. So we moved to another hotel. The food in the restaurant was very expensive, around 700 baht per adult for the buffet, sometimes around 890-900 (water not included) which was absurd. (For kids around 400-500 baht). Generally speaking it would be very expensive for a family to eat in the restaurant buffé, other than that good food. (You can also order regular food, for 250/350 baht)

Excellent Location, Minor Comfort Issues

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The hotel has a very nice location with direct access to the beach, which is a big plus. The resort itself is beautiful, well maintained, and the staff provide good service, especially Jessy, Jane, and Kirt, who were kind, professional, and very helpful throughout our stay. However, there were a few disappointing points. The air conditioning was not strong enough, especially during hot days. Only two bottles of water were provided per day, which felt limited for a resort of this level. There were no complimentary drinks offered, and there was no welcome fruit plate, only tea was provided upon arrival. Overall, the location and service are great, but some amenities could be improved to better match the resort’s standards.

Last time in Phuket..

This review is written with full respect to the hardworking staff at the hotel. The team members we interacted with were kind, polite, and genuinely tried to help wherever they could. My comments below are about the systems and management, not the people. We traveled as 4 adults and 3 children. Unfortunately, our children became sick during the stay. While we also had food outside the hotel, the only meal they could all eat in common was breakfast. Once the kitchen was closed, we found it extremely difficult to get even very simple food inside the resort. We booked an airport transfer through the hotel’s website for 1,100 THB. On our return to the airport, we were suddenly told the price was 1,600 THB. We declined and rebooked through their own website at the original price, which should never be necessary in a resort of this category. One evening, because our daughter was very sick, we asked for a mop to clean the balcony floor ourselves. We were told that facilities were “not accessible after hours,” so we ended up cleaning the balcony with towels. To be fair, I must again credit the staff: they changed our daughter’s bed every single night while she was unwell, and they did this with kindness and care. Another disappointing moment was when we asked for one piece of bread after the kitchen had closed. We were told everything was closed and advised to go to 7-Eleven instead. The Wi-Fi is extremely poor. If you have multiple devices, you must log in as a “visitor,” which only provides one hour of access at a time. This is not acceptable for a resort of this standard. ⸻ Final note about Phuket This is my fourth visit to Phuket, and sadly, the destination no longer feels like the “Land of Smiles.” Service has become transactional and inflexible, far from the warmth Thailand was once famous for. For me, this will be my last visit to Phuket. Again, this is not about the frontline staff, who worked hard under difficult conditions. The real issue lies in management systems and guest care policies
