Fairmont Pittsburgh

We had a deeply disappointing experience at the Fairmont in Pittsburgh. First the room prices are ridiculous. For us, the stay was for a special occassion, and we thought we would have a wonderful experience. However, that did not happen. Instead, we encountered an unwelcoming staff, and our room was not ready at check-in (and wouldn't be for nearly 2 hours). There was no apology or attempt to be hospitable in any way, instead they just asked us to wait in the nearby chairs. It felt more like checking into a dentist appointment than into a luxury hotel. When we approached the managers, they sadly took a rigid corporate stance basically saying "too bad, you are out of luck." Their total lack of hospitality was surprising. Ultimately we left and immediately called our credit card company for a refund. I can NOT RECOMMEND the Fairmont. If somthing goes wrong, they will not help you in anyway. If you are looking for a hotel there are many in Pittsburgh with stellar rooms and very friendly staff - such as The Industrialist Hotel, just a few blocks away.

Don’t waste your money here. It looks beautiful and gets 5 stars but we were there for 2 nights with 2 other couples and our rooms were never cleaned even once. No tissues, no cups and barely enough toilet paper.

This was the second time we have stayed in this particular hotel. Just like our prior stay, it was super clean which made for a comfortable, relaxing stay. It was a special birthday celebration and this hotel definitely made it special. When booking the hotel I requested a slice of cake to be put in our room upon arrival and Bloody Mary's to be served upon arrival for breakfast. I did not have to contact the hotel once to remind. They pay attention to the details. It was a seamless stay. Our spa experience was 100% amazingly well done with every detail of the experience. I without a doubt highly recommend this particular hotel. Kudos to all who make each detail move like a well oiled machine.

Great hotel, so conveniently located in the cultural district. Walking distance to many things of interest like the river and the Warhol museum. I stayed in nov and dec and was lucky to have a ringside seat for the Veterans Day parade. Room was well equipped, especially the bathroom, and had a great view over the city. A little oasis of calm. Bar and restaurant serving great cocktails and food. Gym well equipped. Friendly staff.

I would highly recommend the Fairmont in downtown Pittsburgh. It is centrally located, boasts well appointed rooms and very friendly and attentive staff. The restaurant called “FL. 2“ was very good with great service. The hotel is located in such a convenient location, close to market Square, the cultural district, many theaters and excellent restaurants. Staying here is a no-brainer!
