My fiancé and I just returned from a 5 day/4 night stay at the Edition Riviera Maya Kanai and had an amazing time. We both found this to be a luxurious, relaxing trip that overall felt like both a decent value for money and an elevated experience. The crowd was mostly couples, mainly ranging from late 20s to early 40s. Lots of babymoons as well as a few girls trips, as well as a few couples with babies/toddlers. There weren’t many families with older kids - one group of moms and teen daughters and one family with kids ranging from elementary to high school. We did venture over to the St Regis one night for dinner, and that resort seemed much more dominated by families with school-age kids. The property is only about 40 minutes from the Cancun airport, but the transportation arranged by the hotel felt a bit expensive, especially for just 2 people (IIRC ~$450 USD round trip), so we ended up booking through an outside company. I did mention to them via email before arrival that we were celebrating our recent engagement, and we were welcomed in our room with a bottle of prosecco and a note which was a nice touch. We were upgraded from the most basic room category to the “deluxe” room with a plunge pool, which we ended up loving. (I have Marriott Gold status FWIW and have never been upgraded before, so that was a very nice surprise!) The property is stunning. The architecture is beautiful, modern, and super sleek - we kept saying we felt like we were at a Bond villain’s lair in the best way possible. The service was overall so warm, kind and friendly and the staff are a big reason why I’d come back to this resort. We spent most of our time at the beach, and Carlos, our server each day, was truly excellent. He was super attentive and present, and was able to anticipate all our needs. We also really enjoyed all of the staff at the main Kitchen restaurant, where we ate breakfast each day (and dinner twice), as well as Ismael and Ana at the Lobby Bar. The resort never felt crowded and we never had to wait for a table at any meals which was great. The rooms were pretty standard Edition fare - very modern and minimalist. I could see how this might feel a bit lacking if you’re used to higher-end properties with a stronger sense of place, but we liked it! Overall, the property is in fairly good shape - it’s only 2.5 years old or so. Our only service gripe was the timing of housekeeping. One night we returned from dinner around 9:30 to find that turndown service was still going on in our room, and it was a bit tough to tell them to leave since they were in the middle of service, so we had to go get another drink at the bar while we waited for them to finish - not the worst thing! Another day, we returned from the pool around 6 pm to find the housekeepers just starting to work on our room, and we had to ask them to come back later. There was also some construction visible from our room - I don’t think it was part of the Kanai complex, so not much the hotel could have done, but it did feel like a bit of an eyesore given how stunning the rest of the views were. The food is overall pretty good and we never felt bored of it. Drinks are great too! We mostly drank cocktails and beer. There were a couple things pricing wise that felt a bit out of whack/misaligned with the overall profile of the resort. For example, dinner at the So’ol beach club restaurant ran us $450 USD for two appetizers, two cocktails and two (mediocre) entrees, which gave us a bit of sticker shock, but was maybe the only thing all trip we didn’t think was “worth it”. The breakfast buffet is $38 USD per person and is very standard hotel breakfast fare, but we ended up gravitating towards the a la carte menu options. Overall, food and drinks were priced pretty much in line with what we expected ($65-75 USD for breakfast, $60-100 on snacks/drinks at the beach and pool during the day, ~$250 for dinner.) Overall, we loved our experience and are already talking about a return trip!

After arriving to The Edition, we stopped for dinner at So’ol. Ochoa provided us with the best service we could have asked for. With a warm welcome, we immediately felt at home. Our next day was followed by continuous hospitality and care. Amazing service.

Phenomenal service everywhere. Each employee will go out of their way to make sure you are truly taken care of. For example, if you ask for directions, they will stop what they are doing and walk you to your destination. The concierge had prompt and excellent communication, which helped us arrange roundtrip transportation from the airport, restaurant reservations for dinner each night, and a crib and rollaway bed. It was also my wife's birthday while we were there, and the staff truly went above and beyond making it special for her. They baked a beautiful cake, which they presented at brunch and then sang happy birthday to her. The location is right next to the St. Regis and only about 30 minutes from the Cancun airport. The beach and resort still feel secluded, which is nice. Based on my Marriott status and some upgrade awards I applied to the reservation, we were able to secure a room upgrade to a suite. It was the largest room in which I've ever stayed. The room was spotless to begin with, and the superb housekeeping staff made sure it stayed that way. The hotel is undeniably expensive, but as with most things in life, you get what you pay for. We ate at Ki'is, So'ol, and Kitchen at the hotel. Ki'is is something special. If you enjoy fine dining, you'll love Ki'is. We also went to Toro at the St. Regis for dinner one night. Superb overall experience there as well. Although Edition doesn't have the typical butler service you get at St. Regis, the concierge staff is available all day, and communication is super easy via text or WhatsApp. They're frequently checking in to make sure everything is going well but definitely not intrusive. We were there for 5 nights, which was a perfect amount of time. My family and I can't wait to return. Thank you Edition staff, and keep up the good work!

The Edition offers the perfect relaxation decompress after the holidays. The property provided access to the neighboring St. Regis for dining - all dining options at both hotels were superb. Adult pool service for food and drinks from Jonathan and Ivan was absolutely outstanding. Both went above and beyond to take care of our every request or anticipated need!!!! Bravo!

We had a great stay at the Edition. The rooms, service and restaurants were all incredible. We really enjoyed our dinner at So’ol. The food was superb and Henry gave great service. We also really enjoyed the tasting menu at Ki’is and Isaac walked us through the experience and dishes super nicely. We enjoyed everything!
