The Riviera Maya EDITION at Kanai

I had the amazing experience of staying at this magnetic resort. All of the staff was amazing however Marco and Rafael were absurdly kind and professional. We had the best vacation ever. The food was amazing. The pool was clean the rooms were so nice and comfortable I cannot wait to come back. And a side note make sure you try a pina colada from the amazing Juan Carlos at the Sool beach club. Everyone was so nice and professional we really felt like we were at home.

I rarely put a hotel on blast, but our experience at The Riviera Maya EDITION at Kanai has crossed a line. After eating dinner at the resort, my partner and I both became violently ill. We spent roughly 30 hours of a five-day vacation sick to our stomachs with vomiting, diarrhea, and severe gastrointestinal symptoms. I’ve experienced ordinary travel-related stomach illness before. This was on an entirely different level. We reported what happened and disputed the dinner charge. The hotel later claimed it had conducted a “thorough investigation” and found no issues with its food handling. Yet neither of us was ever interviewed or contacted as part of that investigation, despite being the two guests who became sick. They offered a 20% adjustment. I responded in writing that I did not accept that resolution and that I believed the dinner charge should be removed entirely. They never responded. Instead, they went ahead and charged the disputed dinner to our card anyway. So, to recap: two guests became violently ill after the same dinner and lost approximately 30 hours of a five-day vacation. The hotel claimed to conduct a “thorough investigation” without ever speaking to either of us, ignored my written response disputing their proposed resolution, and then processed the charge anyway. This is a luxury EDITION property carrying the Marriott name. The illness was awful. The way they have handled it since has made the experience significantly worse.

This incredible hotel and location should be on everyone’s bucket list. The property is stunning, the people are authenticity kind, and the service is extraordinary. Will return again and again.

Our first time at this property and everything was outstanding. This brand has quickly become our favorite. Gabriel in the kitchen to make sure my wife’s food allergies were well taken care of and we truly appreciate that.

Beautiful Property & Exceptional Beach Service The Riviera Maya EDITION at Kanai is an absolutely beautiful property. The design, atmosphere, and attention to detail throughout the resort are stunning, and the beach is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the property. A special highlight of our stay was the service at So’ol. Ivan, Miguel, and Marco were exceptional! They were warm, attentive, and incredibly thoughtful throughout our time at the beach. They consistently anticipated what we needed and made sure we were comfortable without ever feeling intrusive. Their hospitality truly elevated the experience and made our beach days some of the most memorable parts of the stay. Beautiful setting, gorgeous beach, and outstanding service.
