Thompson Playa del Carmen Main House

I recently stayed at the Hyatt Centric Playa del Carmen for my birthday. The staff was incredibly professional and friendly from start to finish, making me feel right at home the moment I walked in. You also really can’t beat the location, it is perfectly situated for exploring everything the area has to offer. I spent my birthday at the pool and had an absolute blast; the vibe was exactly what I was looking for to celebrate. Also, if you’re looking for a great start to your morning, breakfast at Les Amis just around the corner was spot on. Highly recommend this spot for anyone wanting a chic, high-energy, and well-located stay in Playa!

We came from France for a few days for holidays and we made a circuit in the Quintana Roo and Yucatan region. Playa del Carmen was definitly the best spot we like the most. We discovered a very good Beach Club (Hyatt Centric Dowtown Beach Club) with a good view on the beach and a nice swimming pool. Francisco served us very good cocktails and burgers, he was very pleasant and he was very thoughtful from the beginning to the end of our stay for us to have a great time ! Thanks for everything Francisco and Hyatt !

Always love it here. Perfect location and I love the beach house as well. I will be back many more times. The community is very walkable and so accessible to great food, music, beach, etc.

We spent six nights at the beach house and very much enjoyed our stay! The staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. Mario helped us arrange outings and transportation and meals. Israel was equally helpful. The lifeguards are all kind and helpful Oliver at the poolside bar was fantastic, as was Gabriel and all of the wait staff at the restaurant, who gave us helpful tips to their favorite cenotes. The cleaning staff was always friendly and helped locate a lost sun hat. Our king room with balcony was beautiful and thoughtfully appointed; the space is immaculate. This is a wonderful place to spend time poolside, and watch the ocean. The sargassum on this particular beach makes it less suited for snorkeling, but on calm days it is a lovely place to swim. We had a few days of high winds where the ocean was not really accessible and the sargassum was effectively blocking access to the ocean. The hotel is next-door to the wonderful Frida Kahlo museum, and around the corner from many lovely shops restaurants, and we did not need to rent a car. The Hotel Centric has a really fun vibe. If you are looking for quiet and peace, this is probably not your jam-there is generally music thumping into the night, and the hotel helpfully supplies earplugs to sleep with. Soraya made check out a breeze! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

Very new and chic place; enjoyed the rooftop restaurant—affordable. All the staff are helpful, especially Soraya, who is the nicest! She helped us with check-in and check-out our luggage’s—super efficient ;)
