Couple, stayed for a week in May 2026. Overall - wow, wow, wow, this was a phenomenal trip, I get the hype about Atelier and would 100% recommend it! I like details when I read reviews so apologies for the length. - Arrival was ~9:30pm, check in was smooth and our ocean view King had been upgraded to a rooftop terrace suite which was awesome! Loved the spiral staircase up to the roof with the huge day bed and hot tub. - We were in 3527, I had specifically requested building 3 as we wanted quiet. It was perfect, we got up most mornings to watch the sunrise and enjoy room service coffee and fruit on the roof. - Rooms are well thought out and very spacious. Molton Brown large-size toiletries (Indian Cress shampoo and conditioner, Orange Bergamot shower gel, Fiery Pepper handwash and a body lotion). There’s also a hair straightener provided which is great (confirm that though as other people have said not). Iron only. We called twice to see if we could borrow a steamer but were told no, so I would bring a travel steamer if you must have one. Cozy bathrobes and slippers (be careful not to slip though!). Also 2 refillable water bottles to keep which is a nice touch and lots of water dispensers on site (filtered and safe to drink, no tummy issues here!). There is also a beach bag to borrow for the duration of your stay. - The layout is kind of confusing, as many others have said. I also have a very poor sense of direction. I kind of figured it all out by day 5 or 6. There are all sorts of shortcuts and different options to get to places, the golf carts help too! Ultimately, you’re on holiday, sometimes I took a wrong turn and ended up in the lobby, not to worry, bonus passion fruit mojito! - Design and surroundings are really beautiful, we spent a fair amount of time walking through building 2 on different floors and there’s so much greenery and art, very aesthetically pleasing. - We were blown away by the staff and the service. You could be at a bar or the buffet or a restaurant and servers from days ago will remember your specific drink order or food preference, really impressive! - Tipping, we brought pesos and planned each day out (you can order from AAA if you’re a member) 200 for breakfast, 200 for lunch, 300 for dinner. 200 for pool server at beginning of day, extra 100 at end. 50s for swim up drinks. 100 for towel set up. 50s for drinks at bar before dinner, 200 for housekeeping, 50s for golf cart drivers and bellboys etc so about 1500 per day ~$90. - Reservations, the system is pretty simple. We were able to request all our restaurants with no problem, even booking Los Abrazos for Saturday evening on Thursday when we arrived. 7pm seems to book quickly but we were able to get 8 or 9pm reservations and would occasionally show up early and ask if it was possible to be seated and it was always fine - Food was generally really great, especially when you remind yourself you’re at an all-inclusive! AI dining is not fine dining but it’s still pretty great! Standouts included El Suspiro for breakfast and lunch, we tried the buffet (La Consentida is smaller than Mercado 19 and I thought the quality was higher, the fruit was so fresh with halves of juicy mangos, fresh cut melons) but preferred sitting at El Suspiro - Eggs Benedict, Iberian broken eggs and the Tropical Fruit Supreme were our favs. For lunch, if you like fish, get the whole catch of the day, so so good! I tried it fried and grilled (allow 20 mins for grilling) and it was perfect! The aguachile (with fish) was also excellent. Room service was good, esp as we arrived late. If I had to pick favs, I’d say El Suspiro for lunch, Limon y sel for afternoon pool snacks, Los Abrazos or Kopai or Calla di Luna for dinner. Least favorite was Cilento (I’m kind of spoiled for Italian food, it was fine, I would just chose elsewhere). - Maria Dolores was a kind of mixed experience. It didn’t feel like a true fine dining experience, the amuse bouches were dropped before we’d even had water or ordered drinks. The ipad kept locking when trying to see the wine. It’s mildly irritating that you have to pay for all drinks, even house wines that are available on property. The cocktail I ordered was so cloyingly sweet it was almost undrinkable. Some dishes were phenomenal - the aguachile is something I’ll think about for weeks, the suckling pig was so tender and delicious, other dishes felt like more of a miss (dry pasta, caesar salad). Glad to have tried it but probably wouldn’t go again. - Bars were also excellent. El Detalle was quieter, excellent Vesper. The creme brulee martini at Bar de la calle was worth the hype, perfect dessert cocktail. Snacks at the lobby bar were tasty, little cheesy crackers! - It would be so helpful to have more info in the app/website about the food pop ups and where they’ll be each day. The taco cart was usually by Bar de la calle in the early evening, and Bistro Piccolo set up on the patio by the quiet pool. But we missed a tequila tasting as we walked by too late, and it would have also been good to know about other surprises like the slushi cart, the margarita cart and more! - Towel game was very variable. On the weekend it seems to be more of an issue with all cabanas gone by 7:30am and most beds gone by 8:30am but the pool guys are really helpful and will look for something for you. On other days (Monday and Tuesday) there were plenty of cabanas and beds still at 9:30am. Only saw 2 people using personal speakers and they were asked to turn them off (yay, it’s so jarring to have the general pool music and then another clashing beat on top). - Beach, my partner loves the beach so we were hoping it would be swimmable, you *could* swim maybe 1 or 2 days, but there was a lot of sargassum, they were doing a great job of raking it up but there was still a lot. We alternated between the main pool and the quiet pool depending on mood. I think the food was better at Limon y sel vs Bikini Azul. For context, I’ve previously stayed at Le Blanc (loved it), Live Aqua (enjoyed it); Hyatt Zilara (meh, not a fan), and Atelier was phenomenal, 11 out of 10!!! If you can’t enjoy yourself here, I don’t know where you’d be happy!!! Finally, if the Atelier Management Team read these reviews, I kept a running note of all of the standout service we had during the week, these team members deserve massive praise for going above and beyond and really making our trip so special: Main pool - Carlos, Javier, Uriel for keeping us in fresh towels and helping find a great spot Gilda for the never-ending chilled water and top cocktails Quiet Pool - Gabriela worked so hard, remembered our drink orders and was always checking on us Valentina made check-in a breeze and Arturo brought up our bags and gave us a great room tour Carlos at Don Fernando lobby bar made the BEST passion fruit mojito, I will be returning just for that drink Ernesto at Limon e Sal was phenomenal, he always remembered our drink orders, showed my husband the funniest trick to hold a beer can magically in your palm, and made us feel so welcome Manuel was great at Bikini Azul One day we wandered down to the beach bar and sat on the swings, Jorge magically remembered my drink orders from lunch a few days ago and surprised me with a perfect titos, pineapple, soda spritz. The pool aerobics team were really welcoming to people joining solo and so high energy, the whole entertainment team really shines. Everyone at El Suspiro made our breakfasts and lunches a delight. Humberto, Herberht, Paco, Javier, Armando, Wendy and Ianis were so attentive, friendly and professional, always delighting us with extra thoughtful care. I just booked to return with my mom in a few months!

I just returned from my fifth stay at Atelier, and there is a reason I continue to come back. I visit with friends, and it has become one of my absolute favorite places to truly relax. My perfect Atelier day is pretty simple: read by the pool, eat amazing food, have a few drinks, go to the spa, and completely unwind. The resort itself is beautiful, but after five visits, I can confidently say that the people who work here are what make Atelier so special. The pool is where we spend most of our days, and the team there was incredible. Elian from the activities team really stood out this trip. We ended up having such a thoughtful conversation with him—he asked genuinely interesting questions and was actually curious about our lives and perspectives. It was so refreshing and one of those interactions you remember after you leave. Carlos and Andrea from activities also brought such fun energy to the pool every day. Another Carlos, who helped us with towels and our setup each morning, was wonderful. We always go to the same pool loungers, every day of every trip, and he was right there to make sure it was perfect and had everything we needed for the day, then continued checking on us periodically to make sure we were set. And I cannot say enough about Guadalupe and Ernesto, our pool servers. Their service was perfect. They anticipated what we needed before we even had to ask and somehow kept track of everything while running back and forth all day in the Cancun heat. They work incredibly hard, and it absolutely does not go unnoticed. They made it very easy for us to spend entire days reading and doing essentially nothing—which is exactly what we came for! Breakfast is another highlight, largely because of Donovan, Sergio and Jacinto. Donovan has the BEST energy and is genuinely one of my favorite parts of returning to Atelier. He remembers us, remembers exactly how we like our coffee, and always makes us feel special. Sergio and Jacinto were equally attentive and made sure we were completely taken care of every morning. Maria at the Alba juice bar was such a joy. She remembered our smoothie orders, and seeing her quickly became part of our morning routine. The restaurants were fantastic as always. Armando at Mercado 19 made an already-special dinner even better with wonderful recommendations and service. Juan at Takeshi also gave us amazing recommendations and took such great care of us. At Cilento, Amir was fantastic—our drinks were never empty, he had such pleasant, fun energy, and he even took some great photos of us. We also loved our experiences at Suspiro. Humberto was incredibly kind and attentive at breakfast. At dinner, Baldemar had a huge smile on his face the entire evening and was basically a giant teddy bear—we adored him. Gabby was so much fun and added to what was already a great night. The spa deserves its own recognition. Georgina, my massage therapist, was incredible. She somehow worked out every knot I had, and I genuinely cannot remember the last time I felt that relaxed. Astrid, who guided us through our hydrotherapy experience beforehand, had exactly the energy you want at a spa—calm, warm and welcoming—and set the perfect tone going into our massages. We also met Ana at the spa and then saw her again later at Suspiro, and she remembered us. That might sound like a small thing, but it perfectly sums up what makes Atelier different for me. These employees interact with so many guests every single day, yet somehow they remember you. They remember your coffee, your smoothie, your face, or a conversation you had. Those little moments make you feel genuinely special rather than like you’re simply another guest at a large resort. I’ve now been to Atelier five times, and every trip reinforces why I keep choosing to come back. The food is excellent, the resort is beautiful, the pool days are perfection, and the spa is wonderful—but the people are the reason Atelier has become such a special place for me. Thank you to everyone who took such wonderful care of us. Already looking forward to visit #6. ❤️

We just got back from our third trip to Atelier, and this one was a little different because we had become members halfway through our last trip. This was our first full trip as members, and honestly, it just reinforced that we made the right decision. For this trip, we were celebrating our anniversary and it truly felt special there, thanks to our butlers and several remarkable staff. There really is a reason they say “welcome home” when you arrive at Atelier. It truly feels like a home away from home. The service was impeccable again, from the moment we arrived on the property. We were checked in quickly and able to get to our room without much of a wait. The one piece of feedback I would give is that I would love to have a few minutes to settle into the room before having to make decisions about things like dinner. After a difficult travel day, I’m usually ready to just get to the room and breathe for a minute. Having a little bit of time before needing to decide where we want to eat would make the arrival experience even better than it already is. Our butlers, Aline and Martin, were exceptional yet again. Aline checked in with us regularly and was always so warm and welcoming. Martin was also always ready to help and quickly got whatever we needed. It’s just nice having those familiar, smiling faces around who genuinely want to make your vacation as good as it can be. One of the biggest highlights for me this trip was the El Cielo team, especially Elizabeth and Uriel at the rooftop pool. They were incredible. Every day we were greeted with a smile and treated with so much kindness. They made our time at the pool completely relaxing and carefree, and honestly, they helped us actually feel like we were on vacation. They and the staff at El Cielo also went out of their way to make our anniversary special, which was such a nice surprise. That is one of the things I love most about Atelier. The staff remember you. They remember your name, they remember that you've been there before, and they notice the little things. You really can't walk past an employee without being greeted. It sounds like such a small thing, but after three trips, it has become one of the reasons Atelier feels like home to us. As a vegan, I was once again incredibly impressed with how accommodating everyone was with food. We were there during low season, so there were restaurants that were closed at different points throughout the trip, but I never once worried about whether I would have something to eat. I was able to make requests, ask for things that weren't necessarily on the menu, and sometimes just let the chefs surprise me. Erikka, our phenomenal concierge, assisted with notifying restaurants about my dietary needs which made the experience so much easier as it took out my need to explain my needs repeatedly. I enjoyed breakfast almost daily at Mercado 19. Gilberto at Mercado was especially wonderful. He made sure I was well fed every morning and really paid attention to the little things. He checked in with me each day, and he even knew the one morning I didn't come in for breakfast. That kind of attention really stands out to me. The chefs made delicious tofu meals for me when I requested them and always offered other options like beans, edamame, soy, etc. I was able to get plenty of protein throughout the trip and never once went hungry. I've never experienced this level of accommodation with dietary restrictions. Whether you're vegan or have allergies or other dietary needs, they really do make an effort to figure out what works for you rather than just telling you what you can and can't have. The one thing I would love to see is a little more variety with vegan/plant-based desserts or breads. Having more desserts that are dairy- and egg-free would also be great for guests with allergies or other dietary restrictions. That said, even when I made requests, everyone was incredibly accommodating. Aline also helped us arrange a vegan breakfast in our suite for our anniversary. Room service doesn't really have vegan options listed beyond things like cereal, but with some advance notice, they were able to put together a delicious breakfast for me to enjoy alongside my husband. Our butlers really went above and beyond to help us celebrate our anniversary, and they made the entire stay feel even more special. I also want to mention Jahir and Abigail at Cafecito. They remembered my order and remembered that we'd stayed before. They are such a great team and always greeted everyone with these huge smiles that genuinely make your day better. They really helped make Cafecito feel like one of those places you just want to keep coming back to. Jose, Alfonzo, and Alfredo at El Suspiro were another highlight. I only went there during our last two days this trip, but Jose remembered me from our previous trip. They were warm, funny, and just genuinely fun to interact with, and those interactions honestly made the food even better. Alfonzo also made sure my drink was dairy-free, which was something he absolutely didn't have to go out of his way to do, but he did. And Jose is just remarkable. He really is such a gift to Atelier. Joaquin at Takeshi was also phenomenal. He remembered our names the second night, and that immediately made us feel welcomed. He's warm, friendly, and just a really great host. I also really enjoyed the art experiences this trip, which I hadn't taken advantage of before. Teresa at the art gallery and Andrea, who led the art walk, were both incredible. I learned so much about Cancún and Mexican art and history that I left wanting to learn more. They clearly love what they do, and that made the experience that much better. I already know I want to do more of the art activities on our next trip. I used the gym every day as well, and it's a great facility. I tend to go early in the morning, but I never had to wait for equipment or figure out what I was going to do because something was occupied. There is plenty of equipment and it was easy to get my workout in every day. And since people always seem to ask about restaurant reservations, we've now been to Atelier three times and have never had an issue getting reservations. We're early eaters, so that definitely helps, but if you're following the process and booking three days in advance, I really don't think reservations should be something to worry about. We like eating early so that we can have coffee or snacks later in the evening anyway. The property is beautiful, and easy to understand the layout once you learn that floor 3 connects the buildings. That said, it's really the people that make Atelier what it is. It's being remembered. It's being greeted by name. It's having someone notice what you need before you even ask. It's having staff remember that you're vegan, remember what you ordered, remember that you've stayed before, or notice that you weren't at breakfast that morning. That's what makes Atelier feel like home. And after three trips, I don't think that's just something they say when you arrive. I think it's something they've actually created because of the atmosphere they are so proud of.

Our stay at Atelier was perfect! Everything felt personal, and all our needs were met. We were truly able to relax and unplug and enjoy the resort and pool. Damaris gave us the best poolside service, making us smile every single day and treating us like family. So grateful for our time at the resort.

Extremely disappointing experience, left after less than an hour. I booked a three-night stay at Atelier through Amex Travel, but I ended up leaving after barely an hour because I could not breathe comfortably. I have asthma, and my symptoms worsened pretty quickly after entering the room. I initially asked the hotel if they had an air purifier that could help with the air quality. I was told they did not have one and only had dehumidifiers. Given my worsening symptoms, my only reasonable option was to check out, which I did. To be clear, I did not complete the stay or use the room at all. I did not use the bathroom, toilet, shower, bed, or any of the room’s amenities. I essentially entered the room, opened and closed the patio door, realized I was having difficulty breathing, walked around the facility to see if they had an air purifier and left after realizing they didn’t. What has been even more disappointing is how the hotel has handled the situation afterward. Despite leaving almost immediately and providing documentation regarding my asthma, the hotel has been extremely difficult to work with regarding a refund. It has now been nearly two months, and there is still no resolution. I have contacted the hotel multiple times, and after multiple emails, they finally responded that they can’t communicate with me since it was booked through a third party. Well Amex Travel has also followed up with them and I was informed that the hotel has not been responsive. So you really don’t communicate with anyone regardless. I understand that hotels have cancellation policies, but this was not a situation where I simply changed my mind or decided not to travel. I physically arrived, entered the room, experienced a significant respiratory issue, and had to leave almost immediately. The lack of compassion and flexibility in handling a situation like this has been incredibly disappointing. At this point, it’s not just about the refund, it’s about how a hotel chooses to treat a guest who became ill shortly after arriving and had to leave for health reasons. If you have asthma or ANY health issues caused by this hotel, I would strongly reconsider booking this property. And if something unexpected happens during your stay that requires you to leave, don’t assume the hotel will be reasonable about working with you afterward. They only care about their profits. Highly disappointing experience. I would not recommend Atelier and will not be returning.
