Hunter's Country House

An amazing experience, we were only there for two nights and how I wished it could be longer. The rooms are in lovely cottages in the grounds which are secure and very extensive and beautiful and the staff are friendly and attentive, nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast was fab too and served in the large conservatory, we also had a dinner in the Zinzi restaurant which is also within the estate and that was excellent too. If I am ever in South Africa again, I will definitely revisit Hunters Country House.

We had a lovely stay at Hunter’s Country House. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived, and the entire team went above and beyond. The breakfast was fresh and delicious, and dining in the on-site restaurants was enjoyable. The service throughout my stay was exceptional; every staff member was friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to ensuring guests feel at home. Highly recommended and look forward to visiting again.

The hotel is nestled in park-like grounds. The villas and the entire building complex are very well maintained, and the staff are very attentive and fulfil every wish without hesitation. Deer roam the grounds, which is something special. The restaurant is also highly recommended, both for its excellent breakfast and dinner.

Not sure where to start. I spent months researching properties in SA for our holiday of a lifetime and Hunter's was the one we decided on to experience Plettenberg and we absolutely loved it! We had a warm welcome and drink in the summerhouse, thank you Donald. Our suite was just utterly exquisite, the gardens were absolutely beautiful, the welcome note was very much appreciated, and the dinner on our first evening, just the two of us in the summerhouse was beyond words. A huge thank you to the lovely young man who looked after us. On our second evening, we ate at Tsala and both said, "it just keeps getting better and better" dinner in the forest above the treetops! We had to drag ourselves away to go and look for whales however, we were rewarded. We stayed at seven different properties on this trip, all were beautiful however, Hunter's was my favourite. Thank you to each one of the "Hunter's family" for having us and giving us the experience of a lifetime, we will never forget it! If you are considering it, just book it, it's fabulous! This place is the best heritage resort ever! Spent 6 nights and had an amazing time in the resort and also exploring the garden route activities from this location is perfect. The staff are next level at this country house well done for making our stay comfortable and memorable
