Avalon Hotel & Spa

We had a wonderful stay at this nicely situated hotel. We had a corner room on the third floor and our adult son stayed in a room down the hall. The rooms were great - spacious, comfortable, nicely decorated and quiet. Our son especially enjoyed the soaking tub. We enjoyed our wraparound balcony and view to the bay. I peeked in several rooms while they were being cleaned on turnover day, and all I saw looked similar. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast is minimal but tasty and in a pretty, quiet courtyard. What’s not to like? We would definitely go back in a future trip to Catalina.

Small rooms ( even for solo ) small toilets hotel is really far from landmarks noises from other rooms are overwhelming. also receptions and duty manager were unfriendly.

We went for a birthday celebration. From reservations on the customer service was second to none. Kevin checked in often to make sure we had everything we needed. Even before our stay. The rooms are clean. Quiet. Quaint. We had so many questions and no matter who was at the desk, they were happy to help. Evelyn was great too! It’s an easy walk to wherever you’d like to go. It’s a small hotel. With a warm family feel. We’ll be back for sure.

We stayed at The Avalon for our 50th wedding Anniversary. The atmosphere was so beautiful and relaxing. Breakfast was complimentary in the patio, and was so quiet, and peaceful. There was a fountain in the center and the flow of water with the quiet surroundings was so relaxing. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room very cozy. The hotel supplies you with a good size bottle of body wash, shampoo and conditioner, as well as q-tips, cotton balls and swabs. You are also provided with room bath robes and a beach bag for use while there. It seems they think of everything you need to keep you comfortable. We had a terrace with a beautiful view outside our room. Watching the boats come and go was interesting. Every night at 5 pm they blow their horns a couple times which was fun to listen to. Every employee at the hotel treated us with such warmth and welcome. They will carry on conversations with you as if you had known them for years. They go above and beyond to help you. They will store your bags upon arrival until proper check in time ( for us they let us check in early due to the room being ready). They will also store your bags the day you leave so that you can finish up visiting the island before you leave. You are allowed to spend the day in their patio or roof top supplied with chairs and a beautiful view, and outdoor shower until your ship is ready to leave. As a bonus you get a voucher for a cab to the hotel and back to the ship. That was very convenient. I was amazed because we took the cab back to the port, me not realizing that I left a bag of items and souvenirs at the hotel lobby when we got into our cab. Next thing I knew, Evelyn from the front desk was at the port with it. She hurried to the port in her car to make sure I got my items. I was shocked and this only convinced me that the employees here go above and beyond! You could not ask for better accommodations than what The Avalon offers. You feel like family there. Thank you for a beautiful, and very memorable 50th anniversary and the complimentary wine and anniversary card. I will never forget this celebration ❤️

Small boutique hotel about a block away from the Main Street in Avalon. Very well maintained property with a very friendly staff. Nice courtyard with tables for continental breakfast in the morning. A rooftop with great views at night. The rooms were a bit small but well furnished, including microwave and fridge and a safe. The place was spotless clean and the housekeeping was excellent as well. Other than maybe more umbrellas for shade in the courtyard, no other suggestions. Some guests were on first name basis with staff ie were repeat visitors looked like it.
