Avalon Hotel & Spa

We recently stayed at The Avalon Hotel in Avalon on Catalina Island for an extended weekend while handling some business matters on the island, and we absolutely loved our experience. From the moment we arrived, everything about the hotel felt welcoming, comfortable, and relaxing. The property is beautifully maintained and has such a charming island feel that fits perfectly with the laid back atmosphere of Avalon. It is also in a fantastic location, making it easy to walk to the harbor, restaurants, shops, and everything else around town. Our room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. After long days of meetings and running around the island, it was the perfect place to come back to and unwind. The courtyard and common areas create such a peaceful environment that really adds to the overall Catalina Island experience. The staff were friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming throughout our stay. Everything from check in to check out was smooth and easy, and you can tell they truly care about their guests having a great experience. Honestly, we have no complaints at all. Our stay was fantastic from start to finish. If you are looking for a great hotel in Avalon with a relaxing atmosphere, comfortable rooms, and a perfect Catalina Island location, we highly recommend The Avalon Hotel. We look forward to staying here again on our next trip to Catalina Island.

Amazing stay. Kevin, Evelyn and Martha went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Upon checkin, a thoughtful birthday card and bottle of champagne was waiting for my girlfriend and I. Our room was modern and homey. The mattress was the most comfortable that I’ve ever slept on. Breakfast in the courtyard was tasty and refreshing. The views from the rooftop deck are beautiful and allow you to see the entire town, there is no better place to have a night cap. They do an excellent job of retaining the buildings rustic and historic charm, while keeping it modern and fresh. 10/10. We have found our go to hotel moving forward for all of our future stays.

We had a wonderful stay at this nicely situated hotel. We had a corner room on the third floor and our adult son stayed in a room down the hall. The rooms were great - spacious, comfortable, nicely decorated and quiet. Our son especially enjoyed the soaking tub. We enjoyed our wraparound balcony and view to the bay. I peeked in several rooms while they were being cleaned on turnover day, and all I saw looked similar. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast is minimal but tasty and in a pretty, quiet courtyard. What’s not to like? We would definitely go back in a future trip to Catalina.

Small rooms ( even for solo ) small toilets hotel is really far from landmarks noises from other rooms are overwhelming. also receptions and duty manager were unfriendly.

We went for a birthday celebration. From reservations on the customer service was second to none. Kevin checked in often to make sure we had everything we needed. Even before our stay. The rooms are clean. Quiet. Quaint. We had so many questions and no matter who was at the desk, they were happy to help. Evelyn was great too! It’s an easy walk to wherever you’d like to go. It’s a small hotel. With a warm family feel. We’ll be back for sure.
