Reviews for The Nines, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Portland

Excellent service and highly recommend

The staff was utterly amazing, they go out of their way to help you with anything needed and give great recommendations for whatever you’re looking for. The Bellmen, especially Scott and Jason, were outstanding and concierge Cheryl was a huge help. Hotel is clean, updated, and spacious, highly recommend.

Dressed to the nines, service to the nines, hotel Nines just didn't feel like it was the 'nines'

Location was good, not great. Hotel felt like an old Embassy Suites or similar. Think this hotel does well, because not much else in Portland. Room was nice, but not spectacular for price. Front desk ok and nice. Room black out shades nice, a/c good, shower pressure alright, bed too soft/old, cable tv channels sufficient, room was clean, enough towels. Rooftop bar good, but stumbled upon it, didn't hear it from front desk person was a bit cold.

Mixed stay

My partner and I stayed at The Nines for a couples weekend, and while we were excited going in, we left pretty disappointed. The main reason I booked this hotel was because of the in room couples massage. We had read great things, and I’ll say right away, that part was excellent. The massage therapists were amazing and it was a standout part of the stay. Room service was also solid. Breakfast came hot and on time, and everything we ordered was correct. We also had a great interaction with the bartender at Urban Farmer. He was friendly and made us feel welcome. But everything outside of that felt off. The air conditioning in our room barely worked, and even after we called it in twice and had maintenance come out, it was never fixed. No one followed up or offered to move us to another room. Housekeeping also seemed rushed. They made the bed and swapped out towels, but left the used room service tray sitting on the floor and didn’t clean up the desk at all. Another issue was check in. Before arriving, I had been told by the concierge that we would be placed in a larger room to accommodate the massage setup. When we got there, we were checked into a regular room and I had to go back down and sort it out myself. It felt like no one had made a note of anything. We did eventually get moved but only after pushing for it. We also asked for a steamer. It had been in the first room, but once we switched, we had to ask for it again. It took three separate requests before it was finally brought up. I’ll give credit for the champagne that was sent up to the room. That had been promised ahead of time and was delivered as expected. But overall, for the amount we paid and the expectations set by the FHR listing, this hotel just didn’t deliver. We will not be coming back.

Thank you Sheryl. You were amazing!

I had a very good experience at The Nines. Very nice and comfortable room. The hotel was in a very nice location downtown with great access to many good restaurants. I especially wanted to thank Sheryl who was fantastic as my concierge. She made wonderful restaurant recommendations and helped out in numerous ways. She was attentive, warm and caring and professional. Due to her diligent efforts, my trip was quite memorable. I'll look forward to a return visit.

Great conference! Exceeded expectations.

It was for a work trip, and I haven't been to Portland in years. The hotel was very unique and creative, and the front desk staff are professional and friendly. Great first impression after a long flight. The room was surprisingly quiet, both from other rooms and any street noise. AC was quiet and very effective at cooling the room quickly. Food for the meetings was great. I enjoyed the variety. Overall, a great stay and I would highly recommend The Nines for a vacation in Portland as well as a work trip.
