Situated atop the historic Meier & Frank Building in the heart of the city center, Portland's The Nines, a Luxury Collection Hotel, celebrates the simple sophistication of its structure's storied past with modern flair. Abutting the calm shores of the tranquil Willamette River, and overlooking the vibrant city, The Nines is a contemporary haven of luxury and quiet relaxation. The hotel's pledge to uphold the values and high standards of decades past is evident not only in the tasteful décor, but in the attentive staff's commitment to service and providing guests with an unparalleled experience. Rooms range from the intimate studio-style Superior Room to the spacious Meier & Frank Suite, so no matter how large or small your family, you will find the ideal space to call your home away from home. With a brilliant color palette reminiscent of the 1950s, including blue, espresso, silver, and ivory tones, rooms and suites embody comfort and style. Preferred amenities include plush pillowtop beds, atrium or city views, in-room movies, and complimentary high-speed wireless Internet. Luxurious "rainforest" showers, Gilchrist & Soames BeeKind bath amenities, and lighted vanity mirrors transform the marble bathrooms into personal spa retreats.

We are still here and couldn’t be happier with the service and hospitality. We were greeted and then pampered by Juan at the front desk. He and the rest of the staff made my husband feel so special for his birthday weekend. The room upgrade was extra lovely. Leaving will be hard.

I will never understand how this hotel earned a five star "luxury" label. It more closely resembles a three-start Embassy Suites. The hotel has no pool, no spa, no jacuzzi, no sauna. The gym is fairly good size with good equipment. The decor in this place is tacky, mismatched chairs, fluorescent lighting, cartoon character wall paper in the elevators. The staff is friendly enough, but many of them were not well-groomed for a five-star hotel (wrinkly clothes, unshaven, etc.). Urban Farmer restaurant has limited breakfast options and the food is mediocre and poorly presented, at best. The room was mostly fine save the exposed drywall sockets, chipped and worn door. Nothing in this hotel is 'luxury'. I think the aim of the decor was to be whimsical, but it turned out really tacky. These are all 'champagne problems,' but when you're paying a small fortune to stay here, you expect more and the hotel just couldn't deliver. Will not be returning here.

I just completed a wonderful stay at the Nines! Juan at the front desk was very friendly and hospitable! He helped me with a smooth check-in and provided me with local sightseeing tips! The hotel room was spacious and comfortable - perfect for relaxing after work during my weeklong stay. This hotel is also in a great location! I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay!

I highly recommend the Nine’s Hotel in Portland. My husband and I escaped midweek for our anniversary and we can’t wait to return. Upon check- in, Juan and Janessa spoiled us by sending an old-fashioned and espresso martini along with a chocolate mousse cake to our room! Such a special anniversary treat. They are so warm and made us feel like special guests. The rooms are truly lux and very comfortable. Dinner at Departure Lounge and breakfast at Urban Farmer (Malachi was our charming server) were delicious and fabulous in every way.
