Great Service, and super friendly staff. Some furniture is a bit worn, but otherwise very nice. Fire place terrace room was great! We extended a day as it was a lovely location to hang in Portland, Oregon. Banquet facilities were excellent! Food from Jakes was great!

A convenient and very well situated hotel for shops and restaurants with friendly and knowledgeable staff in downtown Portland.

Stayed at the Sentinel for one night while finishing up an Oregon trip and overall had a really good experience. The hotel has a lot more character than a typical chain property, with a historic feel, distinctive artwork, and a lobby/room design that actually feels memorable. Check-in and service were excellent throughout the stay, and everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained. I especially liked the design and artwork, although the room itself wasn’t perfect enough for me to call it a full 5/5. The bathroom was clean and functional and the overall room felt upscale without being overly modern or generic. Location is convenient for exploring downtown Portland, although like most downtown hotels there are some tradeoffs with parking and the surrounding city environment. We used valet, which made arrival and departure much easier. Overall, I’d definitely consider staying here again, especially if I wanted something with more personality than a standard business hotel.

We had an excellent overall stay at the Sentinel Hotel in Portland. It’s a beautiful, clean hotel with a wonderful historic look and feel. Our parlor suite, room 501, was spacious and lovely, and the staff were attentive and friendly. The shower had great water pressure and flow, and the Nespresso setup was a nice touch. Breakfast at Jake’s was excellent, with great service. We had a minor issue at the restaurant, but the manager, Mr. Anthony, was very attentive and took care of it. The main drawback was the noise. The side of the hotel where room 501 is located gets considerable train noise, which seemed to continue throughout the night. If you’re a light sleeper, I’d recommend requesting a room on a quieter side. Also, something worth knowing: maintenance staff aren’t available after 5 p.m., so call earlier if you need something addressed. Overall, a beautiful hotel with a great room, excellent hospitality, and a few practical things to keep in mind when booking.
