We worked with the Concierge team of Tiago, Joao and Vasco in advance on plans for restaurants and wine tours. All recommendations were great. There is a small spa where I had a relaxing Swedish massage form Monica M. The one dinner and 3 breakfasts there were professionally served with nice selections. "King" Charles and his lovely assistant run the comfortable lobby bar. Best to ask for a rear side room due to subway construction out front. Centrally located for nice but hilly walks

Fantastic experience here in IHG Porto. Comfort, elegance and great vibes. From service to room to food. 10 out of 10. Hotel team is fantastic and lunch today was the best meal we had yet on our trip. Thank you!

Absolutely a 5 star beautiful hotel in the best location in Porto. With the exception of some construction around the hotel, intercontinental Porto absolutely lived up to its reputation of the best hotel in Porto. It is walking distance to everything Porto, concierge was professional and accurate, with had a corner room which was roomy and elegant and breakfast was fabulous. Our concierge Gajo (I think that’s how you spell it) went out of his way to make sure we have a good time with arranging private guide, restaurant reservation etc. We have a new favorite city in Europe now, Porto and now a new favorite hotel to stay in. Thank you Intercontinental Porto. Well done.

Majority of the staff is friendly & helpful. The girls at check in come across a bit snobby - not as friendly as the concierge, bell, and wait staff of the restaurant who were incredibly helpful, friendly, and always smiling. They have a breakfast buffet and items you can order from the menu some of these items come with the buffet such as omelets and eggs Benedict. . The buffet had something for everyone! Was worth including in the room rate. Location is great! Most sites are walkable from this location. The subway is around the corner to the right. The Sao Bento train station is half a block away. The tile ceilings in Sao Bento are stunning and worth a look. Livello Library is 5 mins. walk mostly uphill. We stayed in room 112. It was super convenient as there are only 2 elevators. We had very little noise even though they were doing construction across the street. It was nice to open the doors and look out on the city at night. *note - the city is ripping up the sidewalk in front starting next month so access to the hotel will not be convenient for pick up/drop off from vehicles. As much as we were in and out this might have swayed our decision to stay at this location. But the bell staff and concierge were already working on solutions as we were leaving. The beds are very hard which I believe is standard for European hotels. But the rest of the room was wonderful and spacious.

The InterContinental Porto is in a great location—right in the heart of the city, which makes exploring very convenient. The building and setting are elegant, and at first glance it feels like a solid choice. However, the overall experience didn’t quite live up to expectations. The service was average, lacking the warmth and attention to detail you’d expect from a property in this category. The dining options were also underwhelming, with food that felt standard rather than memorable. Considering the price point, the value for money just isn’t there. Porto offers many wonderful alternatives with more character, better service, and a stronger sense of hospitality. I’d recommend exploring other hotels in the city to truly enjoy what Porto has to offer.
