Excellent stay but a bit of noise

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

It’s a beautiful hotel, in a great location and easily accessible. I loved the city. A very positive experience. The atmosphere is let down by the roadworks on Avenida dos Aliados, which unfortunately means there’s a bit of noise. I’ll definitely consider staying there again in the future.

Avoid the rooms facing the front

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

At the time of booking (2 days prior to arrival), I contacted your centre and was on the phone for approx 50 minutes. My sole request was to be allocated a room facing the rear of the property, as I anticipated that rooms at the front would be noisy and I am a light sleeper. The operator placed me on hold to liaise with the hotel and subsequently confirmed that a rear-facing room would be arranged. However, upon arrival, I was given the exact opposite, as the hotel advised that no rear-facing rooms were available. Although I was moved to a rear-facing room the following day, on the first night I only managed around 3 hours of interrupted sleep.

Worthy of its 5 star rating

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Everything was perfect about the stay. We stayed 5 nights. Great selection from the breakfast buffet, plus hot food and a la carte options available to order. Sunday brunch was delicious. We had cocktails one evening in the bar and they were excellent. I gave 5 stars because every staff member we dealt with were friendly, very helpful and professional. Bed was so comfy. It’s a fantastic central location. Spa staff 5 star also. We will definitely return and can’t recommend this hotel enough.

SO NOISY

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Stayed for one night. the room was not ready at 1450 and at the check in the person told me with attitude when complained , but sir, our policy is check in at 1500... the front room that in the pics looks nice and seems as a pedestrian, actually is a non stop central street with extremely traffic noise, like your bed is laying in the street next to cars and busses.. impossible to sleep or relax avoid in any case the floors looking the front Apart of this the breakfast room was full of flies that flew and rest on the food. location was central, but will never stay again at ic Porto
