Grand Hotel Portovenere

Portovenere is a beautiful town. The hotel is not really "5 star" but it was fine and accomodations clean. The restaurant was good for breakfast and dinner. Hotel is somewhat dated. Agree with others - no car is really needed here. We had one minor issue of our room not being serviced or resupplied with toiletries. It took a bit of time to get it resolved but it did. There are not a lot of hotel options so this is likely the best in the town.

What a location! A beautiful hotel with the most pleasant and helpful staff. A great place to enjoy the Cinque Terre, while being away from the madness of mass tourism. Excellent breakfast and a lovely restaraunt for dinner. We have nothing but good things to say about our stay.

My partner and I had the most wonderful time during our stay at Portovenere, and we couldn't be happier with our experience. Portovenere holds a special place in my boyfriend's heart, as he used to come here on family vacations as a kid, so returning here together as a couple made this stay even more meaningful. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was exceptional, with a welcoming atmosphere and impeccable attention to detail throughout. A special shoutout to Gianluca, whose kindness and professionalism made every moment feel truly special. We also had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Antonio Polesel, and it was delightful to chat with him; you can really feel the care and passion put into every aspect of this place. The entire staff, without exception, made our stay perfect. The facilities, the cleanliness, and that genuine feeling of being truly welcomed made this the ideal setting for revisiting such a meaningful place, and for a couple's getaway. We're already counting down the days until we're back for another special occasion. Thank you for making these days so memorable!

We had an amazing 4 nights at this hotel! The staff was exceptional. Sergio assisted me prior to my arrival and during my stay. He understood my requests and clearly communicated with me. The housekkeping staff were so nice and attentive too. I believe laura and daniela kept our room exceptional! They serviced our room 2x a day! On our last evening we had spa services with Lucrezita. She gave us a great massage and body scrub. It is not widely told but you may use the sensory shower, steam and sauna for free! Christine was very friendly and explained all of the services prior to receiving the treatments. She communicated in English very well! The food was terrific.we loved the complimentary breakfast selection. A wode variety of fresh fruits and nuts breads and a variety of egg dishes can be ordered. For a fee you may have other items such as french toast pancakes etc. martina, Valeria and Natalina were attentive and made the experience wonderful. If you are leaving early as we sid, don’t forget to ask for the breakfast box.

I firmly believe that when a company invests in its employees, it shows and it pays off. Grand Hotel Portovenere is the perfect example of that philosophy. From the moment we arrived, every member of the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. The front desk team, bellmen, bartenders, and servers were all warm, helpful, and incredibly accommodating. Even before our trip, the staff went above and beyond, promptly answering emails, helping us arrange restaurant reservations, and coordinating car services to make our stay effortless. The location simply can’t be beat. Once you stay here, you’ll understand why. While exploring the beautiful villages of Cinque Terre is a must, our family actually found ourselves falling in love with Portovenere. It was the perfect home base and quickly became our favorite destination. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, the amenities were wonderful, and the views were absolutely breathtaking. But what truly makes this hotel a gem is its people. Their genuine hospitality turned a beautiful stay into an unforgettable experience. We can’t wait to return.
