Positano is a special place. I'm a fast-paced kind of traveler who will usually try to pack every day of a trip full to the brim with museums, tours, activities, etc. (You may think I'm exaggerating, but I soaked my socks through with blood on a trip to Sweden a few weeks prior to this from walking so much.) Something wonderful about visiting Positano is that this is simply not an option there. You're forced to slow down, sleep in a little later, take that long lunch, nap on the beach, etc. It's a wonderful reminder to slow down and just savor the moment. And the scenery here is absolutely worth slowing down and savoring. The Hotel Poseidon is a place that would normally be wildly outside of my budget, but I am fortunate enough to live locally and be able to come on "off" days when it's a bit cheaper. I could not possibly recommend this place enough. The hotel is beautiful, the views are breathtaking, and the staff are warm and helpful. My first trip to Hotel Poseidon felt like coming home, even though I'd never been here before. I will certainly be making an annual tradition out of staying here in the lull of the tourist season, and I will recommend this property to any friends passing through. My only negative comment is that it is, of course, expensive. The restaurant and bar prices feel a bit steep for what you get. (I had two $30 pre-dinner cocktails back to back on an empty stomach and hardly even felt a buzz. Dinner was good, but I believe you could find something similar out in town for a better price.) That being said, the service, view, and convenience all justified the price for me.

Our stay at Hotel Poseidon was absolutely exceptional! The staff was wonderful, and the hotel had such a charming, welcoming atmosphere. Our room, the “funny room”, was unforgettable, featuring an outstanding rooftop balcony with an amazing view of Positano and the sea. It was the perfect spot to relax and take in the beauty of the Amalfi Coast. Everything about our stay exceeded expectations and we can’t wait to return!

My stay at Hotel Poseidon was absolutely amazing!!! Hotel is exceptional. We were warmly welcomed and given a tour of the hotel and our room. It is beautifully decorated and maintained. It is centrally located with the most breathtaking views. Cleanliness and service is at 100%. All staff are professional and eager to assist you in any way needed. They knew what I wanted even before I asked for it! Felt at home in such a magical place. I will cherish the memories of the Poseidon forever!!

A friend of my husband’s told him this was the nicest hotel they’ve ever stayed in which is what led us here for our 25th wedding anniversary. Hotel Poseidon did not disappoint! The views are matched only by the warmth and hospitality of the staff. Everyone we interacted with went above and beyond to make our four night stay special. Upon arrival we received a card to use at the hotel bar for a complimentary bottle of Prosecco. The servers for the bar area which extends to the poolside patio see the same beautiful view day after day. Yet they seem to understand that their guests are only visiting for a short time. The staff is aware people spend a good amount of time and resources to come to Positano and they want to make your stay a memorable one. Our favorite moments were spent on the patio watching the sunset with a glass of Prosecco or Aperol spritz. We also had an amazing dinner in the restaurant on our actual anniversary. The breakfast buffet was amazing as well! The hotel arranged drivers for us to and from the Naples train station who were professional and embodied the same spirit of hospitality.

A lifelong dream was finally realized by our stay at what I am forever convinced is the absolute best hotel you could possibly stay at in Positano. Service and Staff: From the moment we booked, Marco and Andrea reached out to us and helped coordinate just about everything imaginable. I had mentioned in passing we were celebrating a milestone anniversary, and upon arrival Marco informed us he made additional arrangements to secure a room with a particularly spectacular view. They treated us like family, or old friends and because of that we felt immediately at home. Aldo was available for every question, curiosity or need. I cannot say enough positive things about the entire team. Truly special. Location: Rather or not you are literally geographically “about half way up the mountain” you certainly feel as though you are exactly where you want to be. Exit to the left and walk down towards the shore and explore the heart of the shopping district within minutes. Exit to the right and head up to some of the best restaurants in the area. And the view, unlike anything I’ve ever seen. You are situated at just the right spot to take in the sun rise over the mountains, the ocean, and the famed vertical city itself in full panoramic perfection. Food: For our entire stay we never once strayed from the morning breakfast at Il Tridente as it had some of the most incredible pastries, coffee, juice etc around. The dinner at Il Tridente was where I experienced one of my favorite meals in all of Italy. The lobster risotto, even if you don’t like lobster or risotto is a dish you should consider as it may in fact change what you think about those two things. Rooms: plenty of space, very clean, incredibly important air conditioning. Overall: There are lot of places that tout themselves as being “the best hotel in Positano” and I’m sure they are all wonderful spots. But all of the little details come together at Hotel Poseidon, and the end result is it fells like a dream come true. Thank you Marco, Aldo, Andrea and the entire team for an absolutely incredible stay. We hope to be able to find our way back soon.
