Hotel Villa Franca Positano

Hotel Villa Franca will become the highlight of your trip to Positano- the basis of your memories for years to come. Regardless of how high your expectations are, there's absolutely nothing underwhelming about Hotel Villa Franca but several easter eggs that quickly make you appreciate why it deserves the sterling reputation it's earned. The property is a show stopper. Perched on the crest of Positano with immaculate 360 pool views, anyone feels like an influencer. The interior features clean white & black marble for days, accented with a splash of modern art. You'll be taking inspiration for your luxury high-end new build or chic remodel. The rooms are not NOT small but as well appointed as can be with impossibly comfortable bedding, full bath, and balcony. And then the little details including slippers, flip flops, quality dental/shave/personal care items and more. It's worth noting that we did visit a couple other well-regarded properties during our stay and felt relief in our stay at HVF. It's not that the other hotels were lacking, it's that the more modern and "trendy" vibe of Villa Franca matched us well. It's cliche but the staff is a massive input into the enjoyment of your stay and operates at a different level than the higher-end brand resorts we're used to, perhaps highlighting the difference between a true boutique. At every point upon entering the hotel, be it on arrival or returning from a trip downtown, there was a crew of staff happily greeting us in a genuine matter. They'll remember you and go out of their way to personalize your trip to the best of your satisfaction- from offering breakfast at off hours before your early departure to shuttling you to particular venues that might deviate from from their scheduled route. My wife noted that we're used to immaculate grounds, facilities, and locations at certain resorts- and we generally don't lean on hotel support staff much- but the engagement of the staff at HVF was unrivaled. Finally, three notes: 1) The resort is quite literally at the top of Positano, meaning traversing to and from the city center involves many (+500) stairs and/or the complimentary shuttle. We pride ourselves as athletes (trying to hang on to that claim) and wore the climb as a badge of honor but less mobile individuals should utilize the shuttle. In fact, at one point we were running late to a dinner and the shuttle was not scheduled to depart for 20 minutes. One of the gentlemen manning the desk was adamant we not walk as the restaurant was on the other side of Positano. I replied, "don't worry, it's not a big deal." He immediately dialed the shuttle and they promptly took my wife an me door-to-door off schedule to the restaurant. 2) We're fitness buffs and the gym is surprisingly well equipped. It wont WOW you with size but there is a Tonal unit with multi-functionality, treadmill, elliptical, and power rack with more free weights than I'd have expected. Couple this with the HIIT potential of 500+ stairs and my legs are still barking. 3) Li Galli is the Michelin starred restaurant on premises and is a treat. We went on the day of arrival, meaning we were both half asleep, but the gastronomical experience was terrific and much more satisfying than I typically expect from high-end dining (as a larger man with a major appetite). I particularly enjoyed a pigeon dish, and my wife's reaction to me eating it.

Review of Hotel Villa Franca We came to Hotel Villa Franca in Positano to celebrate a significant wedding anniversary. We expected a beautiful hotel, stunning views, and attentive service, but what we experienced was something far more meaningful. Our five-night stay was truly extraordinary, and even now, I find myself unable to stop thinking about our time there. The hotel itself is breathtaking. Perched high above Positano, it offers remarkable 360-degree views that feel almost surreal. The design is beyond first class—elegant, refined, and thoughtfully curated in every detail. Materials, lighting, textures, and architectural elements all come together to create a space that feels both luxurious and inviting. Our room was wonderfully comfortable and beautifully appointed. Every detail—from the quality of the finishes to the seamless technology controlling lighting and curtains—was carefully considered. It was a space that made it easy to relax, unwind, and fully take in the beauty of the surroundings. The rooftop pool, bar, and restaurant are equally stunning—elegant, beautifully designed, and offering what must be among the most amazing views in all of Positano. The setting is spectacular during the day, but especially magical at night, when the lights of the town and coastline create an unforgettable atmosphere. But what truly differentiates this property is something deeper: its remarkable attention to detail and, most of all, the culture of genuine kindness of the staff that defines it. This spirit of care was consistent with every single person we encountered. The kindness we experienced was not formal or rehearsed—it was natural, heartfelt, and deeply personal. It felt less like staying at a hotel and more like being welcomed by family. Two moments, in particular, will stay with us. On our anniversary, we returned to find a handwritten note waiting in our room. It was a simple gesture, yet incredibly meaningful. We were also touched when a member of the staff shared a cherished recipe with us—something so personal and generous that it perfectly captured the spirit of this place. In decades of travel, we have never experienced hospitality like this. If you are considering staying here, do not hesitate. What you will find is not just luxury, but something far more rare: genuine kindness that stays with you long after you leave.

We visited for a week - family of four with two teens - for an overall outstanding experience. While the property is amazing, I have to start with the HVF team. Everyone was wonderful no doubt because of the manger, Simone’, leadership. From breakfast with Alfonso to aperitifs with Paula, we felt pampered 24/7. Antonio with the concierge team made sure we felt the same when we left whether in Capri or just down the hill. The property is very modern and fun with killer views in every room. Even though the rooms were breathtaking, we preferred to hang in the lobby or lounge areas for the full experience. And, of course, the rooftop pool is a great place to spend entire days. The shuttle service makes traversing the hills of Positano a breeze. We would definitely go back and stay here.

A beautiful hotel in gorgeous positano with an amazing view. This is pricey but well worth it.

Our perfect stay in Positano !! The location is gorgeus, on the top of the mountain where the view is really impossible to forget, maybe, for the same reason, is not very easy to go walking but the shuttle service and the private taxies are a good solution.
