Reviews for Augustine, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Prague

Breakfast falls short of a 5-star standard.

I wasn't a hotel guest; I simply wanted to try the breakfast as an outside visitor. Unfortunately, I was rather disappointed by the lack of care and the limited selection. There were no bread rolls, and the meat selection consisted of just one truly good Prague ham, one salami, and one turkey ham. The chia pudding is made with almond milk, and the yogurts are high-quality products from external suppliers. There were also four types of cheese. The pancakes were pretty disappointing, at first amount for the price and also the taste was pretty weak and the mascapone with white chocolate was tasteless . The photos show the full buffet and the additional à la carte menu. According to the staff, if you book a room with breakfast included (approx. 21 euros per person/night), egg dishes are included in the price. Unfortunately, my Eggs Benedict weren't properly poached the first time around; the insides were still slimy. At these à la carte prices, that shouldn't happen (see photo). Service was attentive at first, but later the staff focused more on the hotel guests—even though there weren't many people at breakfast. In my opinion, the price-to-quality ratio isn't justified for outside guests. Even as a hotel guest, I wouldn't be impressed by this breakfast. Verdict: It’s not worth it for outside guests or those who haven't pre-booked breakfast. It’s okay for hotel guests, but there is significant room for improvement—including regarding HACCP standards. Dear hotel team, if you wish to respond to this review, please avoid using generic platitudes. Thank you.

The most beautiful and serene setting. From check in with Raul, who was fantastic, to all services offered, a 10 star place! We were upgraded to Room 111, which was huge and thoughtfully appointed. It was very quiet and overlooked a courtyard. Only problem with the room was the desk, which was very nice but has an iron bar just where your knee hits when sitting down. Ouch! My husband had a massage, which he described as "perfect". The bar and restaurant for breakfast and lunch were excellent. Not so much for dinner, when one dish was inedible and tough. To their credit, they did not charge for that dish. Many thanks to the lovely staff!

This hotel is amazing: a true diamond ! Our travel agent recommended it to us. Upon arriving we were greeted by Gabriel. He offered us a glass of champagne and explained the hotel to us. He also walked us to a room that had a view of the garden and St Thomas’s Church. We loved the room and upgraded to it. Every day we would see Gabriel and have a nice conversation. He is a true asset to your hotel. We decided to have lunch in their restaurant and sat outside on the lovely patio. Our entrees of fish and chicken were tasty and service was very efficient. The next morning we met Dagmar when we entered the restaurant for breakfast. She was extremely pleasant and always attended to our orders. We had breakfast 3 mornings: delicious omelets and the pancakes. Breakfast is available à la carte and buffet style. The coffee was delicious!! Also we had great service from Sameen. He was always friendly and made sure our meals were enjoyed. Lucas , the concierge was also great. He suggested two Italian restaurants to us that were wonderful. Also he had such a pleasant personality. If you travel to Prague this is the hotel to stay.! All of the staff we met made our trip to your beautiful city so wonderful. We hope to return.

Outstanding hotel accommodations, service, friendliness and efficiency of everyone employed by the hotel. Beautiful and well located within an easy walk to the Charles Bridge. Fascinating tour of the hotel itself. Can’t wait to go back!

A PERFECT STAY

We had a wonderful stay at the Augustine. Even before we arrived, we had corresponded with the concierge, Michael, who took care of all our questions perfectly. From arrival to departure, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Service and food in the bar and restaurant were excellent, and we enjoyed our tasting of St, Thomas beer. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The highlight of our stay was the church and monastery tour with Father William. The hotel is also located within walking distance of many sights. We would definitely come back to stay at the Augustine.
