About the Hotel

Prague is a bohemian city reminiscent of Paris circa 1920. So it would make perfect sense to launch a cutting-edge concept in an unconventional location, and that is where Buddha-Bar Hotel comes into play. Located just a few steps from Old Town Square next to St. Jacob's Church, the historic six-floor structure housing the hotel has a modern edge that appeals to travelers of all ages and interests. With just three-dozen rooms and a trio of suites, you can expect the unexpected, with your own Japanese garden for some added zen. Slumber in an oversize dragon-motif jacaranda bed, among a color wheel of red and gold, peppered with ebony accents and alligator-print chairs. Other appointments include espresso machines, gourmet mini bars and televisions exuding a mix of music created by the resident DJ.

Reviews for Buddha-Bar Hotel Prague

Beautuful Buddha bar, Sofie.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

We came to the Buddha bar with our family to have a drink in the evening. We had a wonderful evening and enjoyed the calm athmosphere in the lounge. The waitress Sofie was very kind and made the experience excellent. Thank you for this nice stay, Sofie!!!

Hotel has no cooling air conditioning

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

Unfortunately the hotel doesn’t have any cooling air conditioning. This results in a very uncomfortable stay and disturbed sleep. We bought chocolate for Easter and it turned to soup with the heat in the room. To make matters worse, reception called the room at 10am on the weekend to say they forgot to take passport details at check in and we needed to come to reception urgently. The call woke us from a rare lie in on a rare day off work. Hotel reception seemed more intent on completing their paperwork after their mistake than caring about guest convenience and comfort. No service recovery offered. . . On a positive note the room is nice and breakfast good. Location also good. But for me the hotel should be openly advertising they don’t offer cooling a/c in any room as I don’t believe they can be 5 star rated when they don’t have this function. We stayed in April so I can only imagine how awful the heat would be in the room during summer.

Bit disappointing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 months ago

Very dark moody super stylish hotel great first impression. Gorgeous room. Massive uber comfortable bed soft pillows. Stunning bathroom and incredible mini bar with everything you could ever want and more!!! Breakfast till 1pm is a fantastic option and gives a wonderful feeling of not being in a rush. Very chilled. Good selection of food from the buffet and cooked food to order with a paid option for speciality dishes Our only complaint was either due to poor communication from reception or just inefficiency from housekeeping team. For a 5 star establishment I wouldn’t expected to have to even ask for soap never mind ask 3 times. We requested some assistance with the heating as the room was uncomfortably hot, again 3 times before it got sorted . Housekeeping was inconsistent. Glasses not changed so we had to wash them ourselves to reuse. One towel for two people on some days, complimentary chocolates and drinking water on two days ( we stayed for 4) very dusty room (see photos) with cleaning equipment and trolley left under cover in the hall ways, not exactly 5 star. Romantic spa option not available due to Technical issue!! Disappointing, 5 star price 3 or 4 star service it most definitely was not “5 star with above average service” that they claim on their website

Everything was perfect, except for house keeping

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 months ago

We stayed at this hotel during the Christmas holidays. The location is absolutely perfect, the welcoming staff was very kind and welcoming. The rooms are really nice and well equipped ( big bathtub, connected TV, big wardrobe). The bed and bedding were really comfortable, we slept and rested really well. The room is also big and comfortable to stay in. The only downside was the house keeping. We put the « Do not disturb » sign on the door on the first day and yet the cleaning staff knocked and open the door twice on the first morning. The coffee capsules were never refilled and the coffee cups were left unwashed and on the table every day, we had to get our coffee from the bar downstairs. The night stand table were never cleaned either, leaving a layer of dust on it. Apart from the house keeping quality, it is a fantastic hotel to stay in.

Stunning hotel with friendly staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 months ago

We have just returned from a fabulous stay at this stunning hotel in Prague, we had a very welcoming and friendly check in with a beautiful glass of fizz and we were fortunate enough that our room was ready early, we had room 38 and wow is it stunning, with sleek electric curtains and a stunning free standing tub, it is pure luxury. There was black robes and slippers and a full mini bar. It was my partners birthday and I had pre ordered a chocolate birthday cake, wow it was to die for….delicious and huge. The breakfast in the hotel was fab with a great choice of food to order fresh from the menu as well as Prosecco. The hotel is ideally place within a short walk from the square. I loved our time here and I highly recommend to anyone who is considering. Very kind friendly and welcoming staff.
