Reviews for Fairmont Golden Prague

Exceptional family stay!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 19 hours ago

My family and I had an exceptional stay at the Fairmont Golden Prague from July 17 to July 20. We booked a Deluxe Room One King Bed River View for my parents and a Fairmont Room Two Twin Beds River View for my brother and me. Upon arrival, we were delighted to be upgraded to Signature Rooms with River Views. The rooms were always very quiet, exceptionally clean, and everything felt brand new. They featured state-of-the-art technology, including a modern remote-controlled drapery system and automated lighting. At the same time, the beds were incredibly comfortable, dressed in refined, soft linens that made for a wonderful night’s sleep. The bathrooms were impressively spacious and equipped with Le Labo toiletries, a Dyson hairdryer, heated towel racks, and many other thoughtful amenities. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, with a modern and elegant yet inviting atmosphere. Since we were there during the summer, we also got to enjoy the hotel’s indoor-outdoor pool and the gym, the latter featuring top-of-the-line equipment. The location is basically unbeatable. In my opinion, only the Four Seasons can rival it. The hotel is just a short walk from Old Town Square, the main shopping areas, and the Charles Bridge, making it easy to explore Prague on foot. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh, high-quality fruit, breads, eggs, cheeses, and many other options, including an omelette station. Most importantly, the staff truly made the difference throughout our stay. Everyone was warm, attentive, and always ready to help. One concierge in particular gave us outstanding insider recommendations and tips that only someone who truly knows the city could provide, making our time in Prague even more memorable. The hotel is certainly not cheap, but we all agreed that it was well worth the cost. We couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough and will definitely stay there again when we return to Prague.

Amazing trip to Prague

What a truly amazing hotel . The room was excellent. The beds were so comfortable and the automatic lights were amazing. The staff service was outstanding and we wanted to particularly mention Alfie in the breakfast room. There was one day that the spa was closed for a few hours due to a private party. We did not know about this and the staff were truly apologetic about this and we were offered a free treatment in the spa by the front desk manager . This really impressed us . We certainly enjoyed our treatment. The facilities are amazing so you were able to rest after a busy day touring .

Fantastic Retreat With Great Location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

I stayed in the Fairmont in their Fairmont Gold floor with my son. We had a room with two twin beds, which were very comfortable. All in all we had an exceptional experience. The concierge at the Gold level lounge was very helpful. The daily breakfast was delicious. The service was impeccable everywhere. The indoor/outdoor pool and spa experience were particularly amazing. They were a great retreat from the city after exploring. We ended up spending a lot of time there because the water experience was so wonderful. Overall a fantastic place to stay!

An excellent hotel

We had a terrific time at the Fairmont in Prague. The location is superb, close to the action but not on the busiest streets, and right on the river. We got a river room view which was quite fantastic. You can tell the hotel has been recently redone; the decor was modern and every inch of the good-sized room was used well. No superfluous nonsense such as writing desks or sofas in the middle of the room, everything was just right with a great bathroom too. Loved the automatic soft lighting that came on when I needed to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, for the first time ever I didn't wake up my wife. The staff are clearly happy there and everyone from the people on the door, to reception, to the bar staff in Goldeneye were lovely and incredibly helpful. We visited the Goldeneye bar on the top floor and it was so good we went back there on our third night, this time ordering some terrific sushi as well. The roof terrace opposite was a good spot to see Prague when it got dark at night, although it did shut at 10pm for some reason. A really strong point was the bar in the main area in the ground floor. So often these places are just overpriced or impractical, but with a very sensible bar menu we were able to return from town and eat there twice during our three day stay, knowing it was going to be of good quality, rather than risk somewhere more dubious when out and about. We couldn't fault this hotel, it felt like a modern, grown-up experience in (of course) a wonderful city. A total pleasure.

Great Property! Service, Cleanliness, Location!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We have Accor ALL Gold Elite status & various other status benefits. Fairmont usually gets our room preferences right at first try. Here they did not. But they more than made it up to us! Hotel’s only been re-opened for 2 years after a major renovation. They’re still refining their service levels I’m sure. Our Top request: Highest flr possible. Great view. Paid for River view! Got 4th flr with view of adjacent Hotel President wall on one side & road/river view front facing. Yuck.Better to be on floors 5-9 in rooms ending in x28 corner/x30 to see bridge & river Email confirmation stated breakfast was included. On arrival, Front desk told us it was not. Once I forwarded them an earlier email from another staff member, they honoured free breakfast for 2. Spa/pool/ sauna is really lovely & relaxing (treatment pricing was exorbitant tho’). Room itself with double sinks, comfy bed, blackout automatic blinds, temperature control, bathtub with bath salts, amenities Le Chemin Byredo & Dyson hairdryer (!), steamer iron, turndown service was excellent, sensors/ LED one-touch on/off lighting & the entire hotel spaces & rooms were soooo CLEAN! Generally staff was very helpful & efficient! Tip them generously for good service. Told reservations it was my hubby’s bday & they were so kind as to have waiting for us in our room: a bottle of Veuve Cliquot champagne chilling on ice, chocolate truffles, fruit, & a tea service with 2 types of loose leaf teas: Earl Grey & Chamomile with milk & honey! So thoughtful! Nikol F. (Front Office Mgr.) did a great job rescuing their reputation from our big disappointment in room assignment & clearing up confusion on breakfast inclusive rate. English-speaking shows & steaming was almost non-existent. It would’ve been nice to have BNN Bloomberg Business, some movies & some sports (eg.FIFA World Cup) in English since Chromecast didn’t seem to connect with our iPad — perhaps a Wi-Fi issue &/or a FIFA streaming constraint when using Canadian TSN? Wish they had all the FIFA 2026 World Cup matches available on demand in our room TVs (in any language!) since many matches started @ 2am Central European Time so many sports bars & beer gardens airing the games were already closed. Location excellent with Old Town directly behind, & short walk to Astronomical Clock/ restaurants/ Jewish Quarter, 1 bridge away from the famous Charles bridge. Short drive to Prague Castle & grounds. Felt safe walking around in hotel area & Old Town. There is a “tunnel” that goes from the hotel spa entrance/ exit to the waterfront boardwalk! So convenient! UBER/ Bolt are better to use than local taxis to avoid language misunderstandings & taxi fare rigging (per hotel Bellman). Breakfast buffet: Eggs Benedict ordered 1, got 2. & it was soo rich & creamy it upset my stomache for the rest of the day! Beware! Staff not as attentive—probably because people have breakfast included in their room rates & may not tip the staff for bringing them custom eggs/ cappuccinos/ etc. Suggest they bring a breakfast bill to each table with the breakfast cost & an offsetting credit to get a net zero amount with lines for tip amount & room # & signature to incentivize staff to take custom orders & remember to bring them in a timely basis.
