Good hotel but construction noises ruined out stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

The hotel is great and less than 1/2 a mile from the tram station. it is not in the city center but a short 10-15 mins ride on a tram is all you need. The room was clean and well organized. The staff was friendly during the check-in. but there was construction going on right outside our room and it got loud. it didnt help when we were relaxing due to jet-lag. I expected better room since I'm a Hilton Honors member. The breakfast was great with lot of choices. Other than construction, the atmosphere was great. it would have been a good value for our stay, if not for construction.

Busy but well organised hotel

We were gratefully upgraded to an executive room in view of our double gold status. My previous stay here was in 2012 when turndown service provided a small bottle of Becherovka. I liked it so much that I’ve bought several litres per year of this lovely drink for the last 14 years including 8 litres on this trip. During this stay, we instead received Rudolk Jelínek Hruškovice Williams. Unfortunately I don’t like pears, so I won’t be buying it. Fortunately the hotel’s executive lounge does provide Becherovka, which is unsurprisingly popular with guests. The room temperature was only 18°C when we arrived, but turning off the air conditioning quicky increased it to a more comfortable temperature. The wifi speed was around 115Mbps upstream and downstream. The television has both BBC1 and BBC World as well as plenty of other channels. I much preferred the south-facing room we had this time compared to the north-facing room I had last time. The bed was very comfortable, as is typical for Hilton. No flannels were provided in the bathroom, and although this omission was subsequently rectified, housekeeping later removed them without replacements. The hotel is large, and this is reflected in the crowds at breakfast. Fortunately gold and diamond status guests have their own dedicated seating area in the breakfast restaurant, but on our last day this area was full and we were instead seated upstairs, which was much more peaceful with almost the same choice of food. I was disappointed that tomato juice was unavailable, even upon request. Gold and diamond members are given a free voucher for one entry to the spa, saving CZK 200. The executive lounge serves tasty snacks, but don’t rely on it for an evening meal. There was plenty of space on our Saturday evening, but we struggled to find anywhere to sit on our Sunday evening because the hotel had allowed entry to large numbers of guests who did not appear to be in executive rooms or have status, possibly including cruise boat crew. The hotel’s location is good. Although it’s a short walk to the centre, public transport is easy with the nearby Florenc metro interchange station as well as plenty of trams and buses. We gratefully received late checkout until 3pm.

Don’t need a wake up call as housekeeping ignore the do not disturb sign and come in and wake you up anyway. Check in staff were friendly however have to pay a deposit which 3 days on I am still waiting for. Can take the money within minutes but refunds 7 days which is poor admin from the hotel. Breakfast was included only had it once as was awful stale bread and pastries.

Ideal leisure hotel in Prague near Old Town

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Close to the subway stops, the historic Old Town of Prague, and a lot of great dining options on-site. Even lots of e-scooters to get around the cobblestone roads. Whether you are here for business or leisure, this location is excellent and the hotel comes with modern amenities.

Nice Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

It is a relative modern hotel with huge atrium in the center with clear roof. Since it 's a big hotel, they are usually fully booked for conventions and other outings planned by various group. The day I checked in was on a Saturday. I guess one of the events has just ended and huge lines at check out. Fortunately, the Diamond line was open and I went straight to it. Being recognized as a Diamond during check in gives you assurance that you are being special, in a familiar way. The room was great, facing the river away from the city or the old town so it's quiet at night and bright during the day. Having both a stand-in shower and a tub was something rarer and rarer in European city hotels. Having a full-closure for the shower is really welcoming as no more water splashing all over the place. What's with the half partition in most of other European hotel showers anyway? Is it for making guests guilty when water is all over the bathroom when you are done showering? As for Diamond member, breakfast can be had at either the full restaurant or the special dining area next to the full restaurant. I like it both, but prefer the special dining area where you can order from a menu instead of just going for the buffet. The buffet offer the usual items of any American or European cuisine, plus eggs any way you want. But the omelet at the separate dining area just tastes better, without the lines of people waiting. I liked my stay and am looking forward to return soon.
