Fabulous suite in a lovely hotel! The staff were very welcoming, especially 5he doorman and Daniel in the restaurant. Our suite was huge, with a bath and loo for the upstairs bedroom, a bathroom attached to the downstairs bedroom and another loo for the sitting area. The hotel was well-placed with restaurants and a small Christmas market on our doorstep. It was a short walk tov5he main market and other shops and restaurants. We had the tasting menu in the Deer restaurant - the food and drink was excellent. The only downsides were a noisy large group of women and an overly loud piano being played (possibly to compensate for the noisy women!).

We had 2 rooms - a junior suite for my husband and myself and a double deluxe for our daughter. Both were beautifully decorated, spacious and extremely comfortable. The hotel were helpful as I requested beforehand rooms on the same floor which were arranged - as it’s a very old hotel the layout is non typical. Felt very safe and secure. You can enter at the front or the back of the hotel from the streets - we had some fun getting lost and not sure which direction we were going in! Rooms are very warm and cosy. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice though it did get busy if you were there around 9 am - earlier was quieter. The location of the hotel was brilliant. Some boisterous noise at night from the street hear from our room, however that’s to be expected when you are located right in the middle of the Old Town. We had a wonderful stay.

From the moment I booked Iron Gate at the last minute to flee a horrific hotel, this place was an absolute sanctuary. Staff is incredibly helpful and kind, the rooms are just as pictured on their website, the lobby is beautiful and comfortable for hanging out or having a nightcap. The beds and bedding are clean and very comfortable, they have amazing & gorgeous blackout curtains so you can sleep well, the hotel is incredibly quiet, given the close proximity to old town and nightlife. There is a bar and restaurant (the Deer Restaurant) onsite, the staff there are also very welcoming and kind, I just wish they had more bar snacks or appetizers to get with a drink. But the drinks and food were phenomenal. And the lovely staff handled any issue we had with kindness and efficiency. I will definitely stay here again.

The Iron Gate hotel is fabulously located to the Prague Old Town area, we stayed in room 518 on the first floor which had a balcony, the room was absolutely stunning, huge and spotlessly clean, but a huge downside was the noise from outside, partying until 3am every night. The food in Deer restaurant is delicious, booking is highly recommend. The bar area is well set out and a nice place to sit and enjoy the evening with fantastic cocktails that aren't as expensive as most places. Would I book again?? Most definitely but I'd definitely request a quieter room.

Love. This. Hotel. Super, super friendly front desk staff. Iron Gate is right in the heart of the touristy part of old town, which we didn't realize when we booked. We were aiming for proximity to the main Christmas market (and it is VERY close). To our surprise, stepping into this boutique hotel, you'd never know that just outside is tourist central, though. The hotel is beautiful and a bit fancier than I expected (giant vases, paintings, and ornate wood furniture throughout), plus the Christmas decor was everywhere. We loved so many conveniences about the Iron Gate: no-commission currency exchange at the front desk (they took our USD), an on-site bar, a fully stocked mini-bar in the room with a variety of drinks and snacks, and an option to tip the hotel staff at the end with a credit card. There is an on-site breakfast and restaurant, though we did not partake. We also loved that we could navigate on foot to so many of the areas of town we wanted to visit within minutes. And, the main train station was only a 20-minute walk from the hotel. Pro-tip: We were told we were being upgraded at check-in, but that our new suite had "a few stairs." We've had this exact scenario play out at other hotels in Europe, so we knew what to expect. "A few stairs" typically means you're going to be in one of the old, attic-style rooms beyond elevator access and up narrow staircases. Fine with us, but WOOF were these stairs narrow and challenging to navigate! For us, the room was totally worth the extra trek. Charming and comfy suite with two bathrooms. My 6-foot tall spouse did struggle to navigate the shower, which had attic beams cutting across the width, but it was a non-issue for me since I'm shorter. Because it was an attic-style loft with low, slanted ceilings, he also had to lean to walk across the room because of his height (not a major issue, he tells me).
