The Iron Gate hotel is fabulously located to the Prague Old Town area, we stayed in room 518 on the first floor which had a balcony, the room was absolutely stunning, huge and spotlessly clean, but a huge downside was the noise from outside, partying until 3am every night. The food in Deer restaurant is delicious, booking is highly recommend. The bar area is well set out and a nice place to sit and enjoy the evening with fantastic cocktails that aren't as expensive as most places. Would I book again?? Most definitely but I'd definitely request a quieter room.

Love. This. Hotel. Super, super friendly front desk staff. Iron Gate is right in the heart of the touristy part of old town, which we didn't realize when we booked. We were aiming for proximity to the main Christmas market (and it is VERY close). To our surprise, stepping into this boutique hotel, you'd never know that just outside is tourist central, though. The hotel is beautiful and a bit fancier than I expected (giant vases, paintings, and ornate wood furniture throughout), plus the Christmas decor was everywhere. We loved so many conveniences about the Iron Gate: no-commission currency exchange at the front desk (they took our USD), an on-site bar, a fully stocked mini-bar in the room with a variety of drinks and snacks, and an option to tip the hotel staff at the end with a credit card. There is an on-site breakfast and restaurant, though we did not partake. We also loved that we could navigate on foot to so many of the areas of town we wanted to visit within minutes. And, the main train station was only a 20-minute walk from the hotel. Pro-tip: We were told we were being upgraded at check-in, but that our new suite had "a few stairs." We've had this exact scenario play out at other hotels in Europe, so we knew what to expect. "A few stairs" typically means you're going to be in one of the old, attic-style rooms beyond elevator access and up narrow staircases. Fine with us, but WOOF were these stairs narrow and challenging to navigate! For us, the room was totally worth the extra trek. Charming and comfy suite with two bathrooms. My 6-foot tall spouse did struggle to navigate the shower, which had attic beams cutting across the width, but it was a non-issue for me since I'm shorter. Because it was an attic-style loft with low, slanted ceilings, he also had to lean to walk across the room because of his height (not a major issue, he tells me).

The hotel was lovely as is Prague. Very clean, great ambience, well decorated and a great spot on the map. My only complaint is, as a coeliac, most of the food on offer for breakfast wasn't labelled so I didn't know what some things were, those that were labelled had no allergen information at all. As I am pretty savvy, having worked as a cook, this wasn't a massive problem for me and at the end of the day my condition isn't life threatening, however if it was a life threatening allergy then it's a game changer. The staff didn't seem to be very knowledgeable about what coeliac disease was.

A fabulous old world hotel . The rooms are out of this world. Tastefully decorated throughout. Being nearly Christmas, the Christmas decor was fabulous. The staff on the whole were friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend staying here . Especially at Christmas time.

Thank you, Daniel! Went to Prague for a three day break. First morning, came across this restaurant & sat outside as it was a fine morning. We ordered brunch. Great variety. Very tasy. Value for money. More importantly was our server, Daniel who was courteous, witty, kind & attentive. A great gay, & one of the reasons we returned for breakfast a second day.
