I was looking for a relaxing and peaceful place to celebrate my birthday and I found it! Castle hill was a 2hr ride from us and offered a ton of things I personally wanted to do. The hot tub and heated pool were great, sadly closed by the time we finished dinner in the restaurant. The food was a 9/10 hands down! We were both impressed with everything, everyone was kind and accommodating. The staff were amazing. The atmosphere is very relaxed but sophisticated and charming. We slept well but I think there are some up dates needed, like the mattresses. The hot tub and pool are closed by 745 which we think is a little early. However we would definitely stay here again.

There’s truly no way to describe our experience other than an absolute dream. We feel unbelievably lucky to have found this hidden gem of a venue. Part of me wants to keep it a secret forever, but it’s far too special not to share! In late August 2025, we hosted our fairytale wedding weekend here with Lisa and her incredible team. The Castle itself is full of beautifully maintained natural charm, with stunning views and endless photo opportunities around every corner. We were searching for a place that captured the warmth and romance of a villa for our Italian heritage-filled celebration, and Lisa (along with Kelly) brought that vision to life so effortlessly. By the end of the weekend, Lisa truly felt like part of our family. The entire team is warm, supportive, and incredibly on top of everything. They really do CARE. And we were not an easy group. We had kids, dogs (which I do not recommend!), unique traditions, food allergies, and very high expectations when it came to the food. Not only did they handle every detail with ease, but the food far exceeded those expectations. Our guest list was full of self-proclaimed Tri-State food critics, and the filet was an absolute standout! Every dish was thoughtful, delicious, and perfectly executed, and every dietary need was accommodated seamlessly without ever compromising quality or flavor. Thank you, Chef Harris!! The tent was an incredible perk and gave us a beautiful blank slate to bring our vision to life. That said, for a smaller wedding, it can feel a bit large, and the dance floor is on the smaller side so that's something to keep in mind depending on your guest count and priorities. Like any venue, there are guidelines in place to protect the space and ensure everything runs smoothly. They are especially firm on the dinner timeline, which ultimately keeps the entire weekend flowing seamlessly, but it’s helpful to be aware of that upfront when planning. The entire weekend felt warm, seamless, and completely one-of-a-kind. We couldn’t have imagined a better experience.

I bought a travel size Aveda hairspray that quit spraying after one trip. I’ve bought a larger size of the spray, from another store, before that did the same thing. When exchanging the larger size for one that works, the store told me to wash the nozzle after each use. I did this with the travel size but it still quit spraying. I took the travel size back to the spa for exchange or refund. They told me their policy was no returns or exchanges, even for a faulty product. Told me to contact Aveda instead. Poor customer service. They need to stand behind their products. Needless to say, that was the last purchase I’ll make there.

Whoever gives a good review to this place never left their own house which is probably in the middle of nowhere!!!! This place is falling apart!!! They call it “historic” but the truth is that the wallpaper, although “historic “ is completely damaged. Same with the bathroom, furniture, and every thing you look at. Our room was smelly. The sheets and towels were clean though. They have not washed the windows probably in years. Although they claim it’s a 4 stars, they don’t come to make your bed in the morning or replace towels or amenities. The crowd in the pool was disgusting. I suspect they let people stay there who don’t have the right. Some people were hanging out there with their own towels making their own picnic. If they had the right to be at the pool they would have been using the towels from the hotel! In a nutshell, the place is decrepit, from a horror movie and run down. Again, if you never went on vacation in your life, this might be paradise for you.

We had a small wedding at the Castle. The location was beautiful and very private. Lisa Cormier was an amazing wedding coordinator. She accommodated our group which included babies, toddlers, pre-teens, teens, and my 95 year old grandmother. She was very responsive and made everything perfect. I couldn’t have done it without her. Fonze, the chef, provided one of the best meals I’ve ever had. We will definitely be back for dinner. Even with the menu being fine dining, the portions are very generous and all of our guests loved it. Our waitstaff, Kelly and her counterpart (didn’t catch her name) were also amazing! They provided everything we needed with quick service. They were so kind and patient, especially with all the kids being there. The hotel manager, Andy, is very welcoming and accommodating. The rooms are very clean and provided everything we needed and we were asked if we needed anything extra. The hotel has beautiful grounds and is well maintained. Beautiful scenery for all the photos! 10/10 would recommend.
