When we pulled up to the hotel my husband turned to me and asked if I was kidding. The street was filled with homeless encampments and lots of drug activity. I didn't feel safe getting out of the car to grab our things. The valet was nowhere to be found and there was a vehicle parked right in front of the hotel so we were unsure of what to do. My husband pulled forward and I walked in to the hotel to find someone. The young front desk associate was disheveled and watching videos on her phone She found valet and checked me in. Rough start. In my recent experience hotels require the use of a room key to activate the elevator. While there is a slot for a key it wasn't needed which alarmed me - especially with the situation on the street. The room was nice but dirty. The windows were streaked and foggy and someone has spilled something along the bathroom wall that clearly housekeeping didn't see. I had asked for a fan in the room bc the ac wasn't working. The front desk associate brought me one that was filthy - the base was dirty and gross. She did apologize and said she tried to clean it - but really? The free breakfast was interesting. My husband had an omelet which he said was good. I just wanted yogurt and fruit. The size of the bowl for the yogurt was too small to add anything to it. I asked the bartender for a bowl which he reluctantly got for me. It was mostly danishes and pre-bagged tater tots, french toast sticks and egg sandwiches. We booked through a 3rd party at a rate of $300. This hotel isn't worth $200 - stay somewhere else.

This hotel is tired and dingy. The shower had mildew. They surge priced to $485/night for Parent’s Weekend, and this hotel is not worth a dime over $200/night.

This hotel has seen better days. While reasonably clean, it is definitely shabby. Cracked floors, stained curtains, decor that looks like it was updated in the '80's. And I have no idea about the continental breakfast reviewed earlier in Sept 2025! The one on offer during my stay consisted of granola bars, prepackaged muffins and coffee. No fresh fruit or breakfast sandwiches! And the bar and restaurant are not open at all, despite signs and website listings that say otherwise. Front desk staff was friendly but I would not recommend. The price wasn't much better than other hotels that appear significantly nicer and more lively.

Historic hotel located in prime location downtown. Rooms were very comfortable and service was great. We were able to valet park our car and just walk to numerous bars, restaurants and shopping on a beautiful Sept night. Would like to return again.

This hotel really offers a mixed bag. It’s attractive and comfortable inside. My husband and I had a quiet room on the 7th floor and slept well. We thoroughly enjoyed the omelette bar on Sunday. However, we did not appreciate the check-in experience at all. We arrived around 1:30 on a Saturday to an unattended front desk. A staff member showed up approximately 10 minutes later. She told us our room was ready, but that we would have to pay a $30 early check in fee because check in time is at 4:00. We were totally turned off by this and refused to pay it. Why would the hotel not let us check in if our room is ready? So we left our bags and checked in later in the evening. I can’t think of a worse hotel policy than this one!! I really want to emphasize this to future guests. Lastly, the hotel is located in an area across the street from a parking lot that looks like an open air drug market. We saw people getting high and lying around on the sidewalk. They were there in the daylight and at night. I know the hotel has no control over this, but guests should be aware. I’m really stuck between 2 and 3 stars for this place.
