Checked in after 12 hours of traveling at 11:30 pm. One receptionist working did not acknowledge us because she was being nasty to guest on phone who couldn’t access WiFi. Charged a destination fee - asked what it was for, she didn’t know. Our room was 80 degrees with heat blasting. I asked if there was a way to fix it. The answer is no - hotel is old, hvac not updated, so hotel is either switched to heat or AC. Receptionist told me to open windows. I told her I don’t feel comfortable doing that at night due to safety and noise issues, so she suggested I check out and find another hotel. I asked if I could see if another room wasn’t as hot - she said she couldn’t be checking every room in hotel. Luckily, she let me check one other room, and the last guest hadn’t left the heat blasting, so it was better. I left a message for the manager, never heard back. Night before checkout, I called reception to ask what some random charges were that the hotel had placed on my credit card - she didn’t know, transferred me to manager, who agreed to reverse the charges and offered me coupons for the coffee shop because of my bad experience. Btw, those used to be complimentary before chain purchased by Hilton. Fridge didn’t work, water never replenished, equipment in small gym was not working. Bottom line - hotel looks cute, beds and comfortable, rooms are large - but service is poor and and rooms are uncomfortably hot. It is an old hotel that hasn’t been updated other than surface decor.

Excellent facilities for our business mtg

We very much enjoyed the accommodations, the service, the facilities, and the location in Providence. The Graduate decor is thoughtful and intriguing; the sense of history and especially the Biltmore Ballroom made our business meeting memorable. We had about 130 participants.

One night in Providence

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We stayed here one night early September. The staff at the check-in were incredibly kind and helpful; even adjusting our room for an early check-in. After staying in a handful of graduate hotels along the east coast, the providence hotel is definitely in need of just a little TLC. The hotel was incredibly decorated, but felt a little wilted. For a $300/night room my only issue was the lack of water available. There were no water bottles in the room, none at the front desk or even at the bar. We were told we had cups in room (though they were cardboard for tea/coffee) and the ice machine was out of water. We ended up walking across the street at night to the 7-11 to get bottles. With a little extra love, this hotel has the chance to be fantastic

Beautiful hotel with great staff

Lovely 1920s hotel. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel has a neat theme with pictures of famous people on the wall. The inside is very ornate and beautiful. There are lots of eating/night out options on the street next to the hotel. *If you use the parking garage, please check in with the hotel first. We had to reverse out of the parking garage to go get a pass from the front desk. Save yourself the trouble.

Ok

The hotel is grand and updated. Our room was fine, there is no fan in the bathroom. Beds were super comfortable. There is a nice sitting area in the room with decor with a sense of humor. Why pay over 300$ a night and go to their in hotel coffee shop and find out they are out of half and half? Very poor planning and a disappointment first thing in the morning I was not the only guest left forlorn
