About the Hotel

Amanyara is located on the west coast of the island and is a short drive from Providenciales International Airport (PLS). The pristine waters of Providenciales are some of the region’s most diverse – a vibrant underwater wonderland of coral reefs running parallel to Amanyara’s secluded 800-metre beach. Hawksbill turtles, humpback whales, bonefish and hundreds of migratory bird species are frequent visitors to the waters. On land, exploration safaris delve into the dry tropical forest and coastal ecosystem.

Reviews for Amanyara

The foundation is there…

My stay at Amanyara was a blend of exceptional hospitality and a property that, unfortunately, no longer consistently reflects the level of luxury expected at its price point. While the setting remains breathtaking and the resort offers the serenity Aman is known for, I left feeling that the physical condition of the property has not kept pace with the premium rates it commands. The greatest strength of Amanyara is undoubtedly its people. Every staff member I encountered was gracious, attentive, and genuinely committed to making my stay enjoyable. Their warmth and professionalism were among the highlights of my visit. I also thoroughly enjoyed the Pilates instruction, which was excellent, and looked forward each morning to the delicious muesli breakfast and outstanding coffee. Beachfront dining was another memorable experience, and the peaceful, quiet atmosphere throughout the property made it an ideal place to relax and disconnect. Unfortunately, the accommodations and overall maintenance fell well below expectations for a resort in this category. My room showed numerous signs of deferred maintenance, including stucco damage, worn wood trim, and walls that needed repair and repainting. The drapes and interior room divider linens appeared tired and should be replaced. The carpet underfoot felt dirty, and even small details, such as the slippers, lacked the plush, luxurious quality one would expect from an Aman property. The need for improvement extended beyond the guest room. The bathrooms and public areas felt dated and would benefit from thoughtful updating and refinement. Around the pool, there were broken lights, damaged tiles, and stained towels that should have been replaced long ago. These may seem like minor details individually, but together they create an overall impression that the property is not being maintained to the standard its reputation and pricing promise. Room service was another area that could be improved. While the staff was consistently kind and accommodating, the overall execution and attention to detail did not always meet the expectations of a world-class luxury resort. After returning home, I read reviews from other guests and found that many shared similar observations. Several mentioned that while Amanyara remains a beautiful destination with exceptional service, the resort's physical condition has begun to show its age. Comments about dated accommodations, deferred maintenance, and the property no longer delivering the same value relative to its premium pricing echoed many of my own impressions. That consistency suggests these are not isolated issues but areas that management should prioritize.

Wonderful from start to finish

Amanyara is, without question, the most exceptional place to stay in Turks and Caicos. From the moment you arrive, everything feels serene, refined, and incredibly special. The property is breathtaking, blending beautifully into its natural surroundings, and the attention to detail and level of service are outstanding. Excellent service!! Its secluded location is part of what makes it so unique. This is a place you come to truly disconnect, stay on property, be pampered, and enjoy the experience. The beach is gorgeous—pristine, peaceful, and wonderful for swimming. My only regret was not staying longer. Amanyara is truly in a league of its own, and I cannot wait to return.

Poor

We were excited to spend our anniversary in your hotel, but unfortunately it did not reach our expectations at all. We paid for expedited service at the airport which wasn’t just overpriced, but completely unnecessary. As we were staying in a 5 star hotel, we assumed that there would be a luxury car picking us up and knowing when we were arriving, should have been waiting for us. We waited about 15 minutes outside in the heat to be picked up in a regular car. The rooms are super expensive, and small compared to the other Amans. They are also infested with bugs! The food was not great and very expensive. The staff at the beach club were very rude. I’ve stayed in many beautiful hotels over the years, and this one was quite disappointing. On our return home, we also paid a very high fee for “VIP” service, where we had to carry our own bags, and got to sit in a pathetic looking lounge. Again totally not worth the price we paid for this VERY expensive vacation. I will not be recommending this hotel.

Falls short of the Aman experience

Having stayed at Amans across Asia and Europe we were excited but this location did not meet expectations. The hotel was crowded and noisy - making us wonder what happened to the serenity of the Amans we preciously enjoyed. The service was even worse - when we checked in, we were told we could not book the day beds at the pool because they were first come, first served. When we went to the pool- even though all of the beds were empty we were told we could not use them because they were reserved for a large corporate event - the staff explained that while we could not book the beds as guests - they were willing to reserve them for large groups - even though no one from the group was at the pool and the beds sat empty. The food at the pool and the Japanese/asian restaurant was great - but the Italian restaurant tasted as if the salt shaker had fallen into the dish. While there were a couple of wait staff who were exceptional - all in all, I would not recommend. If you’re looking for a luxury vacation in Turks - visit Parrot Cay - much better experience.

Magical secluded resort

We had a terrific long weekend at Amanyara. Our villa was secluded and beautiful. The common area was spacious and well equipped. The private infinity pool was warm and the tranquil views looked over a small waterway/lake that felt more like a nature reserve than a resort. The outdoor shower was a favorite. Oscar was more than accommodating. The whole resort feels private. Though it was at full capacity we didn’t see many other people most days. If you are a fan of people watching on vacay - this place might disappoint. Breakfast in the main restaurant was delicious and had a wide variety of choices. Good lunch at Beach Club - the pizza and Greek salad were fresh and delicious. We had our final dinner in the villa - the homemade Thai cuisine was at the top of the best we’ve had. The beach was beautiful. Water looks fake it’s so clean and blue. Pics don’t do it justice. No issues getting chaise chairs and towels. Sunscreen and aloe are available at the beach entrance. We loved riding the bikes and took the golf cart out a few times too. We had some rain and there were large golf umbrellas available everywhere. Tennis and pickle courts, gym and Pilates studio were all top notch. The only complaint was that the snorkeling boat left without us despite arriving to the meeting spot a few mins early. Must have been a miscommunication between Oscar and the crew but they couldn’t explain why they left. Unfortunately we never got to go due to our schedule. Overall a magical place. Highly recommend for a tranquil retreat.
