amazing view from my 78th floor room. hyatt club on the 83rd floor for breakfast and dinner cocktails was a great way to start the day and evening activities.

The location is great, but some equipment and furniture are old and way outdated, feel a little unwelcome as supposed. dissatisfied with the stay for the checkin process as a 10 year Hyatt paid member since 2015. In previous stay the hotel even charge a 500 rmb for a breakfast each person during stay. while you can just pay 200 rmb locally, the hotel guest was cheated and not treated fair as visitors.

Pros: great location, stunning views, and an architecture gem. Cons: out-of-date amenities (no coffee machines in room or lobby, broken hangers and bathroom doors) Service: there are good people, but many require some basic trainings to learn how to welcome guests. If it can update the amenities and improve services, it has great potential!

Over the course of the last 20 years, I have enjoyed staying at the Grand Hyatt Shanghai. It is a classic hotel with impressive gothic architecture and great views of the city. However, on this trip, the hotel and room felt dated, and really needs a refurbishment. Especially when compared to other hotels in Lujiazui (sic as the Regent or Ritz Carlton), the Grand Hyatt now feels old. In my room, the carpet was worn, there was no coffee-maker (only the same instant coffee and hot water boiler which were provided 20 years ago), and for some reason even slippers and a laundry bag were not provided. The mini-bar was sparsely provisioned and everything cost extra, unlike the Regent Hotel for example which provided several snacks and drinks in the minibar for free.

We booked the Grand Hyatt due to its excellent location and the facilities it offered. The hotel itself is superb and the views from the rooms, club lounge and bars were exceptional. It is directly across the road from the Shanghai Tower and the Financial Tower so makes it easy for those wanting to go to all three viewing platforms. The rooms were clean and we had a corner room so had superb views of the Shanghai Tower and the river. The staff were great and were available to answer any queries we had. Davis, at the Concierge desk was outstanding. So helpful, professional and friendly and went out of his was to assist us with any query we had. The breakfast in the Club Lounge was excellent and the food during evening happy hour, which went for 3 hours, was also excellent in terms of variety. The evening drink were limited and unlike other club lounges, there was no whisky or champagne for guests. There were other beers, spirits, soft drinks and fruit juice available. Overall, a wonderful stay in a spectacular hotel. Highly recommended.
