Everything was great! The hotel itself is amazing with an incredible view and being inside the National Park is a great advantage for quick access to main experiences. Everyone at the hotel was very kind and always willing to help to make sure your stay at Iguazu is amazing. The rooms are not that huge, but the views to the falls will make it worth it. The atmosphere in the hotel is perfect and every area (Restaurants, Pool, Gym, etc) are simply amazing. The breakfast was simply amazing, with a lot of variety and the pastry is done at the same hotel - and it's just perfect. The rest of the Menu at the hotel was ok. I would definitively recommend this hotel to anyone. They even prepared an special surprise with balloons and photos at my room for my Birthday - Special Thanks to Damian at the front desk who was really helpful during the whole stay, always willing to help and to address any concern.

Beautiful hotel! Complimentary activities during the day...painting class of Falls very fun. Tango show....just beautiful/passionate! I had a massage, which was wonderful. Hired a private car from th e hotel to go to the animal rehabilitation and 3 Frontiers. A little pricy, but beats haggling with taxi drivers. My driver was more like a guide. Magdalena, my driver, was very accommodating. It is a beautiful hotel because of the location. BUT MANY of the room thermostats don't work. When I was checking in, another woman complained about her sons air conditioning not working. He had to leave the door to his room opened for relief. He had been sick. Reception asked "Do you think because he had a fever he didn't feel the air conditioning?" "Did you tell anyone?" This guest indicted she had indeed spoke to someone and no, it wasn't his fever that was causing his discomfort. It was the air conditioner. When I also had air conditioning problems, I asked to speak to the manager. Management readily insured that my room was changed, they insured that my thermostat was working and they checked in on me. They gave me a more beautiful room. They went above and beyond making sure i was comfortable. They really addressed my concern. Maria, the first manager i spoke with, also indicated, along with the conversation at reception, the guest couldn't feel his air conditioner because he had a fever. BUT all the evidence does not support this. The internet indicates HUGE problems with Melia room thermostats. This other guest had an issue with the thermostat in her sons room. And I had a thermostat issue. This weighs heavier as being the truth than a worker telling me there were no problems with the thermostat. It should be noted, it is an antiquated heat/air system. I was told by Anna, the top manager, this is the hotels next project. Right now, the hotels overall system is set to air, and only air works in the rooms. The problem is my air didn't work in my room. If you stay when the hotels system is set only to air, you will have to ask for a heater for night time. In Fall has hot days in the rooms and cold nights. When you tell someone they're wrong, when the evidence points to the contrary, this is gas lightning. It's more than just bad, it's evil communication. I would have given Gran Melia 5 stars even with the issue with my room, as they changed my room and ENSURED I was comfortable. Again, the managers were more than accommodating to me. But I feel very bad for this other guest, whom I witnessed not receiving good service. In fact, the service this other guest received was insulting.

From the moment we checked in until we left, the staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. The space is beautiful and incorporated local crafts and art, the food and drinks were excellent, and the view is of course incomparable. We appreciated the kind assistance from everyone on the staff and especially enjoyed meeting Yanaina in the rooftop bar and Luciano who had multiple jobs while we were there.

Staff at check in unhelpful and did not honor their commitment to communicate to us when our room was ready. Room was cold and could not be heated, had to request room heater and blankets. Monkey menace led to food being stolen from our rooms. Management states that they have video monitoring of rooms to determine whether monkeys enter the room, which we were not informed about and raises questions about guest privacy. Balconies have rudimentary separation from neighboring rooms and can be easily crossed over.
