Had dinner at Merkado with Jorge L, Jorge B, and Hector, who were fantastic! Their service was great and we will be coming back

One of the best hotels we’ve stayed at during our South America trip! Yes it is not cheap but worth every penny and value for money. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the best views of the Iguazu Falls by the infinity pool. Speechless and absolutely breathtaking. Definitely one to remember! Although there are some parts of the hotel that could use some more TLC (ie the bathrooms of the spa), it is clean and the staff really makes up for it. We were warmly welcomed from the start of our trip - the transport (Luis) from the airport, to check in (I forgot her name but it started with I), to lunch and dinner. The service at lunch and dinner by Raul, Jorge L, and Hector is outstanding, 10/10! All staff very polite and kind - thank you so much for making our stay worthwhile. I might add as well that the stay we had includes breakfast and dinner… the food is cooked to perfection, high quality and enough to feed a village! We are left feeling very satisfied and full (in a good way).

Gran Meliá Iguazú – Argentina What we liked Visiting Iguazú Falls had been a dream of mine since childhood, and I decided to gift that dream to myself—and share it with my daughter—for a couple of unforgettable days. Nothing could have prepared me for the moment I stepped out of the shuttle: the view of the falls from the hotel hit me like lightning, and tears rolled down my cheeks. It is that impressive. Just the view alone makes this place worth every penny. The entire experience felt like paradise. Every staff member we met made our stay memorable, but the team at the Merkado restaurant stood out for their warmth and genuine care for our well-being. On my first morning, I asked for mate, and by the second morning, it was waiting for me without my needing to ask. One afternoon, a friend came to visit and unfortunately became unwell after a long day of travel. Even though she wasn’t a guest, the staff treated her as one of their own, tending to her with care and professionalism. Hotel Manager Marcus and the nurse deserve special recognition for their quick, calm, and compassionate response—helping me manage the situation without alarming my daughter. From the breathtaking scenery to the kindness of the people, every moment here felt special. What could be improved If I could suggest one thing, it would be to add a few more simple, everyday food options to the restaurant menu. While the dining experience was elegant, sometimes a lighter or more familiar choice would be welcome. That said, the room service was spotless and an excellent alternative when we wanted something different. Overall Gran Meliá Iguazú is more than a hotel—it’s an experience that stays with you. The location, the views, and the genuine warmth of the staff make it a once-in-a-lifetime destination. If you have the chance, go—you will carry it in your heart forever.

Unbeatable views of the waterfalls, friendly staff, and enjoyed the wine tasting and Yoga with Jess. Breakfast was superb, dinner was fine but not outstanding. We did the half board and was with the value.
