Gran Melia Iguazu

Wonderful stay at Melia. Service and facilities all first class. I highly recommend. The spa treatment was also amazing

Loved the Gran Melia Iguazu! Beautiful view of the waterfall from many areas of the hotel. Great swimming pool. Attentive and courteous staff, helpful with recommendations. Comfortable room and good food. We especially loved seeing the monkeys and toucans!

Beautiful hotel in a fantastic setting overlooking Iguazu falls. Room, food, pool, spa, staff all great. Would definitely stay again.

Located within the Argentine NP, this hotel offers an excellent base to explore. Rooms are large and comfortable with a huge bed and reasonable bathroom. We chose a jungle view room, but we ended up overlooking an approach road with just s few trees in front. We felt unable to use the balcony due to repeated warnings about monkeys getting in. We did have a monkey visit our balcony, but he didn’t get in. The rooftop bar has wonderful views and when the monkeys paid their evening visit they seemed unable to get there. The regular breakfast was excellent, but the breakfast to go when we had an early departure was pretty miserable - lukewarm coffee, fresh orange juice and plain mini croissants. Rather a sad end to our stay. We ate in the Merkado Bar and had some very nice food, served by a most charming lady. The pizza is excellent, as are the empanadas. There are lots of birds on the trails and in the gardens. There is also a magnificent pool.

We had a room facing the falls on the 3rd floor which was very comfortable indeed. There was a fly screen on the balcony door, the balcony had 2 chairs and a small table. The bed was comfortable. There were no apps on the TV (Netflix, Prime, Apple etc.) but we didn’t come to watch TV. As this hotel is inside the national park, you are able to walk to the falls before the first train arrives with all the other visitors (the first train from the station nearest the hotel is at 08:40). It took us 30 minutes to walk the journey that the train would take. Train rides are ticketed but free. We used the outdoor pool, indoor hydrotherapy pool and sauna. All were great, hydrotherapy pool needs to be booked. There is also a well-equipped fitness room. We saw monkeys every day on the terrace, from behind the glass doors of our room and/or the red level lounge. The view from our room really was fantastic, we couldn’t have asked for a better view. The lounge staff who looked after us were superb. The remembered our name and were always available to help with anything and everything. All staff were brilliant but a special mention to Esteban and Selva, who gave us a great deal of attention and made us feel special. Red level is available 12-8pm for guests to come and go as they please. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Would return, would recommend. We hope that Melia praises Esteban and Selva, and all staff, for their exceptional service.
