Barcelo Puerto Vallarta

Due to unforeseen circumstances we were not able to fly into the country for our wedding there but Valeria and her team were phenomenal, her Communication and attention to the details were fantastic. We are already planning our stay there in the fall.

We went to celebrate a birthday at the Italian Restaurant and Victor made the night special for my sister-in-law. His services were excellent. He also prepared a special Español coffee and it was a total show. Thank you Victor your service makes a difference.

We spent four weeks in February in a Master Suite Sea Front View Premium Level. Well worth the extra for a longer stay. The only issue was that the living room furniture was well past it’s prime. The resort is beautifully landscaped and very well maintained. The buildings and rooms are also well maintained and clean. The staff are quite friendly and very helpful. The service in the restaurants was always very good. With the premium level we had no issue booking the restaurants a week at a time. We would recommend taking bug spray even though the resort does spray for bugs. Also recommend medicine for stomach issues as one of us did get sick for a day. We were there for the cartel issues and were very impressed with the hotel's reaction. The Sunday morning staff were there and had to work for two days before others could get in. The hotel had to adjust as some guests had to stay longer and others cancelled. We were really not inconvenienced through the problems. Just a couple of suggestions for the resort. 1. There should be somewhere to hang wet bathing suits in the room rather on the balcony railing. 2. Spraying for bugs was appreciated except that it was done around 7:00 am. If you were headed to the buffet you had to walk through the spray. If you were reading at the pool or smoking you were in the middle of it. If it could be moved an hour earlier guests would not be impacted. Also the staff doing the spraying should be wearing masks. One complaint also. As frequent travellers to Mexico we were happy when they implemented the new smoking restrictions. The new rules were on a billboard mounted right beside the smoking section. Unfortunately the smoking section was located in the shadow section of the adult pool between the pool lounges and the hammocks. Needless to say the location violated every section of the new law. In summary would highly recommend this resort having experienced close to thirty other all inclusive resorts. Also recognizing that we are an older couple looking for relaxation and not partying.

The resort has everything you need on site. Food is delicious at all the restaurants. The planned entertainment is very fun. Axel, one of the activity hosts, made sure my birthday was extra special. The beach is beautiful and the resort is so nice!

We had a another nice stay here with some of the staff who have become like family. Juventino and Alfredo at the pool bar and cantina are always the best in the game with new drinks and a great time. Entertainment staff was good as well . Always nice to see Luis in the snack bar working hard behind the wood fired pizza oven making great food!
