Beautiful resort with spectacular views

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

This resort was beautiful. A short taxi drive from town up on a hill that provided a spectacular view of the ocean and sunset each night. Having breakfast each morning as an included benefit was just perfect. The staff here is very attentive and willing to help you with all your needs. The property itself is immaculate and the rooms are spacious and well maintained. This was not our first trip to PV but our first stay at this resort. I will definitely stay here again. Taxi cost to romantic zone was $5 to $7 and well worth it. We did walk down to Las Conchas beach which was a trek but it was fun.

Welcome Home

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

This is my go-to spot every year for my personal reset and relaxation. I go alone, get the Master Suite and the staff always greets me with a "welcome home". The breakfast is excellent and included. Just add tip. I usually add an omelette from the kitchen to my order no additional cost. Room has been consistently clean, staff ALWAYS friendly. They have a strict "Guests Only" policy which can make it difficult in having friends come by but I really appreciate the added sense of security. It also helps it feel like you've got the whole place to yourself as overcrowding is never an issue. This place is great if you're looking for something between a very high end luxury resort and above a big chain hotel. The rooms feel like you're visiting the home of a friend, rather than staying in a cookie cutter, over designed guest room. It's in the hills of Conchas Chinas, which is super close to the downtown PV and Zona Romantica but far enough away that you feel secluded and precious. No noise, No loud parties. GREAT VIEWS! Literally feels like my home away from home.

The Grand Miramar, Puerto Vallarta, was truly a grand experience.

1st time to Jalisco, but not the last. My driver from the airport navigated the cobblestone streets up, up, and up, into the hillsides of Concha China. We arrived at a beautiful entrance to the Grand Miramar. I was greeted by the Bellman's staff. Alberto, Luis, Salvador, and Mario. These guys are the best. They made my stay so enjoyable. From the Spa to the Sky Bar, all of the subtle features of this gorgeous hotel were not missed. I was able to make arrangements to fish, play golf and sail, by connecting with a well versed concierge. My room and the view, well let me just say, first class. Thank you Grand Miramar staff for a little heaven on earth.

A Magical Wedding Weekend at the Grand Miramar – Truly Unforgettable

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We recently had our wedding at the Grand Miramar with about 55 of our closest family members and friends, and it was nothing short of breathtaking. Every moment of the weekend was seamless, smooth, and full of warmth—and so much of that is thanks to the incredible team at the resort. In fact, several of our guests are already planning return trips because they fell in love with the Grand Miramar just like we did. A very special thank you goes to Cesar, our main contact during the year and a half we spent planning from the States. Cesar was professional, helpful, and attentive throughout the entire process. His knowledge, patience, and genuine care made such a difference, and we were so grateful to have him present on our special day, ensuring every detail went off without a hitch. We also want to give a huge shoutout to the bell staff—Alberto, Luis, Salvador, and Mario. These four were truly the heart and soul of the guest experience. They welcomed us and our guests with open arms, remembered names, shared in our joy, and even went the extra mile by distributing our welcome bags as guests checked in with their luggage. Their warmth, attentiveness, and celebratory spirit were a huge part of what made the weekend feel so special. The breakfast team and the serving staff involved in our wedding were equally phenomenal. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect—always smiling, always kind, and always ready with a congratulatory word or thoughtful gesture. The Grand Miramar isn’t just a beautiful resort— it’s full of people who genuinely care about your experience, and who made our wedding weekend an absolute dream. We are so thankful and can’t wait to return.

Stunning views, let down by service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

The location of Grand Miramar is breathtaking. Beautiful views across the bay, unbelievable sunsets and being up in the hills feels peaceful and special. You can walk into town in about 45 minutes, although the walk back is extremely steep. But ubers are easy and inexpensive. We loved heading into town each night for drinks and dinner. Our room, a junior suite was a great size for our family of 4. The balcony was a generous size and the views from there out to the ocean were awesome. Pool areas are well kept and we never had a struggle for sunbeds. The staff around the pool were friendly and helpful and the food around the pool and up at the rooftop restaurant was really good. Great cocktails too. Unfortunately where the hotel fell short for us was in the service, particularly from the reception team. On arrival our welcome was lacklustre. We arrived before 3pm so didn't expect our room to be ready. We happily enjoyed lunch on the roof then headed back down to go to our room just after 3. At reception we were just told our room wasn't ready, and wouldn't be for another 20 minutes. No apology or explanation. After a long 24 hours of travelling this was disappointing but we waited. By 3.30pm we again enquired about our room, again told no it wasn't ready and was going to be another 20 minutes, still no apology but something about a problem with laundry was mentioned. By 3.50pm we asked to see a manager, at which point our room suddenly became available. Not a huge deal, but not the ideal start to our stay. The second incident with the front of house team came when our tour guide came to pick us up for a day trip from the hotel. This was the second time he'd done so. But on this occasion one of the taxi drivers who wait outside the hotel told him he had to pay them in order to leave the hotel! I understand the drivers aren't employed by the hotel but there's clearly some reciprocal arrangement, and this embarrassing situation is not what I'd expect from a hotel calling itself 5 star. The third, and most worrying and disappointing situation occurred on our final full day at the hotel. We were enjoying an afternoon in the pool when my husband gashed open the sole of his foot on the sharp edge of a tile at the bottom the the pool. I'm thankful it wasn't one of our children but it's left him unable to fully enjoy the second half of our holiday and our other resort. He sought help from the front desk but they were completely disinterested in either helping him, ensuring the same issue didn't befall another guest or even saying sorry. I went to raise the matter with a supervisor who offered a fairly insincere apology. The team at the pool did their best to help but I didn't see anyone take any steps to address the hazard in the pool. So please beware of this danger. All in all we enjoyed the location but the staff are not trained to the level that the hotel advertise so I couldn't recommend the resort nor would we revisit.
