Pro's. Very beautiful and well kept resort. Stunning views and the accommodations are the best with jungle and ocean views. The service was usually very good. Some days our room was not serviced and had to call. The Spa and Gym are the high-points, both being well maintained and great facilities. Con's: For a 5 star resort the food was disappointing. Not too many options and the portions are really small. Many nights I wished I ordered more. And the selection of wine is very limited and disappointing for a resort of that caliber. And the only good California Cab they wanted $700 per bottle for something we can get in the states for $100 or less. Why up charge 600% when your already paying really good money for the resort and the food? So eating was the big disappointment with many nights ordering pizza's and appetizers since the main courses were always small. We finally went into town (had to get a car service for $300) to buy some wine, liquor to our liking and enjoy the drinks in our tree house jungle view. And the lunch in town was so much better. Fresh fish, shrimps, etc. Next time I would buy liquor and wine at the duty free in the airport and take it with you. Other than that, it was a very enjoyable vacation.

What can I say… this hotel was a 10/10 on all fronts. The property itself is unbelievable. You’re basically nestled in the middle of the jungle in your own private treehouse, surrounded by massive trees with incredible views of the ocean and nature everywhere you look. It somehow manages to feel completely secluded and peaceful while still having everything you could possibly want within the resort. Our treehouse was beautiful, private, and had its own pool, and waking up there every morning was pretty special. The food was a 10. We ate at several of the restaurants during our stay and genuinely did not have a bad meal. The resort has enough variety that you can stay for several days without ever feeling like you are eating the same thing or having the same experience. The spa, beach, pools, bars, and activities were all equally impressive. There is also a surprising amount to do if you want to be active, but it is just as easy to do absolutely nothing and enjoy the property. But what really took the trip from a great hotel to an exceptional experience was the service. We were assigned our own duo of personal hosts, Jonathan and Angel, who were available for basically anything we needed throughout the entire stay. Restaurants, spa appointments, activities, transportation around the property, drinks, changing plans at the last minute, they handled all of it. More importantly, they did it in a way that made the entire trip feel effortless. We never had to call around, figure out logistics, keep track of reservations, or really think about anything. We would send Jonathan or Angel a message and somehow everything would just happen. They knew our schedule, anticipated what we needed, and constantly went above and beyond without ever making the service feel intrusive. That was probably my favorite part about staying here. For five days, we really did not have to think about anything other than what we wanted to do next. When you are on vacation, that is a pretty amazing luxury. A huge thank you to Jonathan and Angel for taking such great care of us and making the trip as seamless as it was. They are both fantastic at what they do and were a huge part of why we enjoyed Mandarina so much. One&Only Mandarina is definitely expensive, but this is one of the rare resorts where you actually understand what you are paying for once you are there. The setting, rooms, food, service, and overall experience were all exceptional. Easy 10/10. We will absolutely be back.

This is a real parody of what a 5 star resort should be. I called up about airport transfers and was asked to provide our flight details. When I had done this I did not receive a confirmation email. On enquiring about the transfer on the way back they told me they would have to check the emails but they had a special free transfer deal for people staying 4 nights. Later they told me they had provided me a quote which was $496 dollars one way in a Mercedes minivan. There was also a quote of $319 in an SUV. I NEITHER RECEIVED OR CONFIRMED EITHER. They couldn't produce any evidence that I had acceded to the quote but still picked two of us up in a minivan to drive us 75km. Considering that Ubers and taxis are not readily available this was our first contact with their egregious pricing. The actual accommodation is beautiful but isolated and only really accessible ny calling for a golf cart to pick one up and drive to beach or restaurants. This is extremely inconvenient. On our first night the service was non existent and it took an hour and a half for 3 cold dishes to arrive. Complaints were addressed with callow indifference and finally agreement to scrub the charges from the bill. The entire stay proceeded accordingly. There are so many other beautiful alternatives with far better food and service on Mexico's Pacific Coast that one would do very well to avoid this one

The resort is stunning, the rooms beautifully nestled in the jungle. Everything is accessible by foot (if you are in good shape for the steep hills) but a golf-buggy is really just a phone call or text away. The variety of restaurants really do cater to a global-taste, high quality food and service. There are many local, mexican items on the menu to taste the many flavors of this great country. The beach is fine sand with easy access into the water bordered by a small bay. The water is not deep and it is easy to enjoy the waves. There is also a great beach bar with pool directly on the beach, really a beautiful setting. Service at the beach bar is attentive. We took out the jet skis and wandered far-off, the operator came to wave us back without any complaints. There was an electrical issue with our room which caused entire lack of sleep for two nights. Management handled this situation exemplary, the way I would expect a property with the fine reputation as One&Only would handle. Five Star hotel I can recommend.

Absolutely stunning. From the minute you step out of the car and onto the beautiful, lush property, you are in paradise. My now husband surprised me for our first trip here and I was blown away. The room was unlike any other, with a private pool and outdoor shower. It was super clean and comfortable. The bed felt like sleeping on a cloud and it always had that 'island' smell. And every day, they turned down the beds and left a little treat to eat and a little decoration to take with you . And don't get me started on the included breakfast. WOW. The choices were enough to make your head spin but then the quality surpassed any expectation I had. The staff treated us like royalty, whether we were on a walk or about to begin a massage or an excursion--always a big, warm smile and a friendly wave. They drive you to & fro in little golf carts, which is so much fun. And each restaurant was quality. Michelin star quality. We eat out a lot and these restaurants are places we would visit back home. There are many other One & Only resorts we learned and we plan to visit more based on this experience. But Nayarit was very special. It's not cheap but it's worth every penny.
