Near-center location in Puerto Viejo, room walking distance to the beach, the restaurant and to several refreshing infinity pools, including a small plunge pool just for our room. Decor sets the hotel apart from others, and loved the staff so much - Geroline, David, Frank -- all so warm and friendly and helpful with recs. Toucans and wildlife abound on the property too: When we arrived they had just alerted nearby Jaguar Rescue Center about an abandoned baby sloth, which they pointed out to us. Can't wait to return!!

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in July 2025, and had a great time. The location is excellent, not noisy but still close to the center. The rooms was clean and spacious, and the hotel team really do their best to make the stay a perfect experience.

This place is a dump. Smelly rooms, falling apart, overwhelmed staff. It’s taken 90mns to check us in with so many people in reception we all had to stand and cram around desks. We were shown rooms that werent available or where they couldnt add a bed for our daughter so we re 3 in a bed to ight. We refused the room with two beds which was dark and smelly. Worst of all you can hear road traffic from every pool as the road cuts the property in 2. We carried our own luggage to the room with the receptionist. And our room had an empty champagne bucked with ised glasses and used fruit plate. Mosquitoes. We are gutted to be stuck here. Cant wait to leave. Fake luxury but really just a step up from backpacker. Traffic noise included.

We just left here after almost a week long stay as a family of 4 with 2 kids under the age of 10. What a wonderful stay we had! The location is central to a lot of the great beaches: playa Punta uva and playa cocles to name a couple. The staff was great, Frank was so welcoming and everyone was so friendly and helpful. We loved our breakfast at Gigi’s every morning with a variety of delicious fruit and local foods. Loved the salads and rice and beans. Our kids enjoyed the pancakes every morning, the grilled bananas were a special touch! Andy the server was so attentive. We had dinner at Gigi’s and had the best ceviche con coco with live entertainment, the night we went there was calypso night. We felt April went above and beyond greeting all the guests and ensuring they had a great stay. She was so very sweet. The cleaning staff were great and the rooms were quaint & clean. It is in the rainforest so you will get to see a lot of animals and insects without having to do a tour if you want to enjoy some other excursions during your stay! Be prepared to leave your clothes out to dry daily, it may be difficult due to the moist and humid climate in July. We saw and heard howling monkeys as well as an anteater. We saw sloths while walking down the path to Punta Uva beach. We never had an issue finding parking. Beds are comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel!

We stayed for four nights. The staff was kind and friendly, but the service could have some improvement. At times, it was difficult to find towels for the pool, which was also a bit cold. At Gigi (the restaurant), we had a great experience thanks to Alfredo, who was exceptionally courteous and offered many helpful recommendations. The hotel is suitable for families. My only suggestion for visitors is to be cautious when crossing the street between the jungle section of the hotel and the beach.
