Reviews for Conrad Punta de Mita

Great resort with some room for improvement!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We were very pleasantly surprised, especially for the overall cost which was very reasonable for what we ultimately experienced! We arrived at the tail end of the holidays in early January and much preferred the last few days when the pools etc were quieter. Our daughter had an amazing time attending some of the kids activities! Beautiful views, mostly kind and helpful staff. Overall we had a wonderful experience. Some improvements could be made easily. Chipped/old paint and stains on poolside tables etc just turns the luxury factor down. Also oddly restrictive hours for the more casual dining options. No food at beach bar after 7 which is a missed opportunity. And too many chairs in arguably the most beautiful relaxed atmosphere of the resort by the beach bar are sectioned off for Smores for pre reserved families. A cute idea but casual dining and drinks would be lovely in this space and it seems a missed opportunity! Breakfast was good. Overall we got tired of the dining hours and rules and went to town most nights - but we’d have loved to stay at the resort had it been more relaxed with greater options!

Mrs. Baird's white bread come to life.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

The property is beautiful. and the staff are mostly kind and helpful. However, there are more Cons than Pros.Don't use the hotel transport since it is about $350 from the airport, instead choose Uber for about $35. Located far from anything, you must rely on the onsite dining options and they all leave much to be desired All are outdoors except for breakfast, when it is ironically the coolest part of the day. -fill up at the breakfast buffet since it is better in all ways than the restaurants! At dinner you wind up sticking to your seat in the heat -the fans do nothing to cool you off. The highly rated Codex is pretty, but the food is bland and overpriced. Mezquite Grill is a tad better and slighltly cheaper but the chefs apparently don't like to add flavor here either.Paleta is OK, it serves poolside as well but the menu is very limited. Drinks at all of these places start at $21 which is ridiculous since they skimp on the alcohol. There is nothing to do at the beach -no jet skis, paddle boards, parasailing or any of the activitiers you normally find at the beach in Mexico. Also - no lifeguard so good luck if you are not a strong swimmer. Security is tight, they won't let just anyone come on to the property. The rooms are lovely and housekeeping is great! That said - why would a 5 star hotel not have Mini Bars? You get water, which is nice, and coffee but there is no way to get a simple snack in your room or in the hotel itself. There is no gift shop onsite. We noticed that the staff is obsequious to a fault with the white American guests, but if you are latin they almost ignore you -the Paleta staff and pool bar were the worst. We went to Mexico for fun and flavor but instead we got bland, white bread. Even the music is all in English and no more exciting than Muzak. I would not return to this location and will instead seek out a more authentic, Mexican experience with spice and fun.

Exceptional resort with top notch service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This is an exceptional resort. The pools are beautiful, the beach goes on for miles and is wonderfully maintained, and the food is excellent. I have to mention the excellent service that goes above and beyond by everyone! Mariana who took our room service breakfast orders (we ate every morning on our patio and enjoyed the ocean view) was exceptional! I also love how serene the resort is. We absolutely did not want a loud party crowd and this is quiet, beautiful, uncrowded, and elegant. The food and cocktails are great at all the restaurants too. Love it here and can’t wait to come back soon!

Conrad Punta de Mita Disappointment 7-2026

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Review of Conrad Punta de Mita July, 2026 After visiting and enjoying Conrad Punta de Mita three times in the last three years and writing a gushing review after the first visit, it is now time to follow up with an update after our visit this July, 2026. All resorts evolve and offer different experiences each time we visit. Sometimes they improve, sometimes not. Unfortunately, this visit was a disappointment compared to our past experience at this resort in a way that may indicate deeper management issues at this resort. First the good news. The beach remains fabulous, clean and good for body surfing. The extensive pool complex includes a dedicated children's area, very large with a slide the kids love, as well as a separate, extensive adult pool complex that is quiet, pristine and relaxing. We love this layout as opposed to having everyone all in the same pool or two. The landscaping is abundant, verdant and well maintained. Finnaly I can’t say enough about the staff who bend over back wards to serve every need you may have. The first disappointment occurred during check in after arrival at three pm. They had no room ready for us ! I've never been to any hotel in my life that did not have a reserved room ready for us to occupy shortly after arrival. The representative handling our check in, Gladys, seemed to have difficulty navigating the software she was using. When I inquired what the issue was she became borderline rude and indignant that I should ask. We cooled our jets at the lobby bar with shots of tequila that became complimentary after explaining our plight to the bar manager. That took the edge of the hour and a half it took the staff to prepare a room for us. Kudos to the lobby bar manager ! Second disappointment was room service. We always order room service the first night so that we may unwind and relax while unpacking. I don’t mind paying for expensive room service here as it has always been generous and excellent. We ordered the taco entree plate that included three tacos. And a separate entree order of four chicken quesadillas. I was shocked to see how they had shrunk the portions since our last visit. I truly thought they had sent us the children's portion off the menu. They were not even enough for the two of us. Third disappointment and a big one was the lack of control allowed of the ac in the room. We don’t like sleeping with noisy cold air blowing on us all night. We prefer to allow the quiet ceiling fan to keep us comfortable through the night. The ac system would not shut down completely no matter what setting I tried, including off ! The system would cycle off for five minutes and then back on for five minutes no matter how I set the thermostat. Very noisy, turning itself on and off literally every five minutes ! Called maintenance / housekeeping the next morning to see if they could correct this defect. The maintenance tech came in and attempted to fix it, including replacing a part on the system. He declared it to be fixed and I gave him a five dollar tip. Only to find out that night, the fix didn't take. So back to the on again off again ac for the night. I even tried turning the thermostat all the up and letting it run non-stop. That discontinued the on again, off again problem but it was like sleeping in a noisy refrigerator ! Needless to say we didn’t sleep well this whole trip. In addition the beds were soft and lumpy. Maybe due for replacement ? These disappointments added up to a sub par experience at the Conrad Punta de Mita on this trip. We will go back to some of our other favorites in Puerto Vallarta until I see reviews indicating improvement in these areas. We may try the Hilton in Los Cabos to see how it compares.

Babymoon at the Conrad

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My husband and I stayed here and had a great time. The service and hospitality really stood out and there were lots of personal touches for our Babymoon which was sweet. I appreciated the pool service, specifically at the adult pool. We used the gym which has everything you need for a good workout and was well kept. We also enjoyed all the restaurants and room service. We wanted to give a special shoutout to Wendy from Beam photography as we booked a photo session through the hotel. The booking process was easy and the photos turned out wonderful. Her experience really showed throughout the shoot as she helped us pose and get all the right angles — which I appreciated since this was also for maternity photos. You can tell she really loves what she does and made us feel great the entire time!
