Occupying a serene spot on America's only tropical fiord along the Golfo Dulce, the boutique hotel of Playa Cativo is enveloped in the snug embrace of the Piedras Blancas National Park and set on 1000 acres of lush private rainforest. A tranquil beach overlooks the crystalline waters off the Southern Costa Rican coast and guests set up lounge chairs on the meticulously groomed lawn to gaze across the expanse. All quarters, designed in contemporary eco-luxe style, are kitted out with polished reclaimed hardwood floors and vaulted ceilings, and large picture windows for stellar ocean views. Accommodations are within steps of the sand and offer all modern comforts such as wireless Internet access, ceiling fans, in-room safes and coffee makers. 3 nights at Playa Cativo Lodge
Wonderful setting and huge grounds to explore, full of wildlife. Great activities to do but really think more should be included rather than paid for (eg boat trips). The activities are very expensive. Great food. All in all a very good lodge.

Beautiful and tranquil
Incredible area, amazing wildlife with Peccaries, Dolphins, Agoutis, Monkeys and fantastic Birds. Puma and Ocelot tracks too. Very fancy and well displayed food, lots of veg coming from their own vegetable garden. Amazing guides, beautiful snorkelling and hikes. Good service, would recommend.

What an amazing place . The location is stunning , the staff are all fantastic and the food wonderful. We were here for three days and forgot about the rest of the world as we indulged in a taste of paradise
