The Darling

Did not provide me with an invoice and they seem to have overcharged me. They also have been unresponsive to emails. I would have given a top rating but that impacted my experience too too much

Jam the manager went out of her way to accommodate my needs. Her professionalism, knowledge and manners were impeccable. The room was spacious with floor to ceiling windows and a sumptuous bed that made relaxing effortless. The room and the facilities were spotless, Highly recommended!!!

The Darling is in a great location, very close to restaurants, bars and the Star. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. The rooms are amazing, upon checking in, Tenzing was extremely friendly and gave my partner and I a special gift by upgrading us to a better room. It was incredible walking in to this large, clean and luxurious room! Staying at the Darling is definitely value for money! No issue with noise, very quiet in the room. The amenities are very well thought out and had everything we need for our stay, you could even call down to front desk and get more things including a pillow menu. 100% fantastic place to stay and would definitely recommend it!

The hype, the advertising, the projected glamour, the seductive ‘starcation’ hook. All so real, but ….not. I know it’s churlish, given that we received a room upgrade but said (very expensive) suite had a great view but that was it. It lacked the absolute basics for the money- no mini bar, no tea/ coffee, not even water. The check in was glacier slow, room service, complicated and also slow, the restaurant was expensive and ordinary. Yes, we are aware that it’s a tourist trap but there is nothing worse than KNOWING every dollar is being extracted, every minute of your stay. Avoid.
