The Darling

The darling is beautiful . I had booked an adore suite on sale and got a deluxe adore suite . Have stayed in both before and still can’t tell the difference between one and the other except for a few square feet of space in the lounge room. Suite is great the amenities are great having the range of restaurants downstairs is great even that milk bar . The only downfall was the meal I ordered from room service It was a chicken breast with mashed potato broccolini peas and chorizo The very very very thin smear of mashed potato anchoring this poor anaemic chicken breast with criss cross grill masks like it had been punished for doing something wrong was , well, awful. I’m pretty sure it was poached why would you leave skin on a poached chicken breast ? The peas were ok the broccolini good the thinnest chorizo circles I’ve ever seen in my life were next to the peas still sitting in some of their pea water having a bath . The whole plate had some sort of chicken stocky sauce and that was awful too . The chicken would’ve been much better seared in a hot pan to get the skin delicious and crisp and a healthy brown . The sides drained the chorizo thick and hot and seared too . That poor chicken . The tiramisu was ok and the fruit plate was ok too . I would stay again but o won’t ever order from the room service menu again

Could not rate this place high enough. After showing up a day late for our booking ( I know right ….who does this .) On arrival greeted by such friendly staff ( Dita) went above and beyond to rectify my mistake with empathy. We booked in again and our room was upgraded , we were mind blown. Our stay was one to remember and will definitely be back. The location was close to everything we had planned…The seafood banquet was amazing and very well priced as was the buffet breakfast Thank you ever so much Dita for making our stay so special.

Staying in The Star Darling hotel in Sydney was really a good experience. The room was so nice and clean. Everything was modern and felt welcomed. The staff members were so friendly. And could do a late checkout. The whole stay was a fantastic one! Location was great too. Good for money value.

I went with my family to stay, it’s a lovely hotel in a fantastic location especially for the Vivid festival. The room was very comfortable and well equipped. I was greeted by Dita at the front reception and she was so warm, friendly and professional. The stay was great from Beginning to end, so smooth with no complaints. I would recommend to couples or families or anyone when staying in Sydney. Thank you to Dita and her team for a wonderful experience.

Our room was absolutely stunning — a beautifully designed space with a gorgeous view. We loved the thoughtful layout, especially the separate bathroom areas, the walk-in robe, the dedicated lounge and dining space, and the full bench with a kitchen sink. Although we had only booked a standard king room, it felt far more luxurious than expected. The large spa bath was an unexpected highlight, and the shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel were exceptional quality. I think I’ve found my new favourite brand. It was a genuine surprise to see such a high-end range of amenities provided. Also, the huge bath towels were a luxurious inclusion. Another welcome detail was the room’s location. Being set well away from the lift meant the hallway stayed quiet throughout our stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the automatic block out curtains worked perfectly. Every staff member we encountered was outstanding — friendly, helpful, informative, and genuinely welcoming. While some might say that’s simply part of the job, it’s not always something we’ve consistently experienced at check in elsewhere. We received a text letting us know our room was ready well before the official check in time, which was especially appreciated as my husband had only been discharged from hospital the day before and the drive to Sydney had exhausted him. We hadn’t mentioned this to the hotel, yet they still made the room available early, and that small gesture made a big difference to us both. When we arrived, staff greeted us warmly, unloaded our luggage, and stored it while we went out for lunch. By the time we checked in, everything had already been delivered to our room, and our loose items — including coats — had been neatly hung up for us. After this experience, we’ll be choosing this property over The Star from now on. The inclusions are superior, the rooms are far more impressive, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating.
