The Darling

Not a 5 star hotel The internet was so slow that I could not download the in room dining and had to go to reception to get a menu It seems the internet is part of the casino system for star city Rang guest services it took 10 min to answer and again not guest services for the hotel but for the whole star city Rooms very dark but the most disgusting part was I found blood on the sheets Disgusting For the price definitely better options

From the moment we stepped out of the car we were greeted with front door staff, their courtesy and helpfulness was a good start, the room it self was immaculate with harbour views, room service was great, the twin spa 🤩 overall lovely stay and will definitely be back especially due to staff and their professionalism

Wonderful hotel perfect for seeing shows and wonderful restaurants. The service is excellent and rooms are of a high standard.

Our experience at The Darling was great, initially we booked the Jewel Suite but the lovely front desk staff - Jacqueline, upgraded us to the Stellar Suite which was amazing. The room and view was gorgeous and it really made our stay the best experience!

I booked the Darling for myself and two friends as part of a two week trip across Asia and Australia, based on the excellent reviews. There were pros and cons experienced over our three night stay, as folllows. Our check in was lengthy, clunky and a tad unprofessional, as firstly my card was charged for extras across all three rooms when we they were clearly booked in three names. This took a while to resolve - not ideal after a flight down from Hong Kong. Next, my room. I’d paid more for a Jewel Suite for the space and the views, and reserved this six months prior. My only request was for a nice view. Upon arriving in my room I was greeted by the view of a concrete building. To his credit Mahesh - the front desk duty manager immediately upgraded me to a high floor room with a beautiful view. Great service by him, However, I did it think it disappointing that my request with a booking made so far in advance was ignored. The room was stunning and luxurious, super spacious and immaculately clean, and the rainfall shower wonderful. The pool area was especially a highlight- a chilled vibe and friendly helpful staff. That said, the hotel is quite soulless as it’s part of the casino complex and has no actual bar that you can meet at within the lobby area. Staff and service issues were a major letdown away from the pool area.I called Guest Services on three occasions and not once was my call picked up. The third time I was a called back by a guy so unprofessional that he basically laughed when I told him I’d rung for bath gel. The most disappointing moment was saved for last. I asked at front desk for a late check out as we had a late flight ahead, and the woman duty manager dismissed my request with a ‘computer says no’ attitude’ and only after wrangling for about ten minutes did she agree for a slightly later check out. That conversation in itself has knocked a star off this review. Dita - Head of Front Desk - called me the next day to try to rectify the situation and granter us all a complimentary late check out. However, i felt it was too little, too late as it should never have come to this in a hotel of this standing. Where was Dita the previous day when most needed? I was sorry to leave the Darling ifeeling so negatively about the place, especially as it could’ve all been avoided with some genuine customer care.
